Tribalism at Moi University: Education CS defends appointment of Laban Ayiro

Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has defended the appointment of Professor Laban Ayiro as acting Vice Chancellor of Moi University. Matiang'i says he followed the law and the appointment will not be revoked.This was in response to Tuesday’s protest by politicians led by Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Alex Tolgos who claimed that Ayiro is an ‘outsider’ and wanted him replaced with Professor Isaac Kosgey. Former VC Prof Richard Mibey has officially handed over instruments of power to Ayiro.
