I have traveled all over, Europe used to be clean but currently China and Japan have the best toilets although some of the Japanese toilets are getting old, but they are still clean. No one can match the number of toilets per sq meter like in China.
re Toilet If you haven't seen a Poop Pit, you haven't experience pre 1990 China. Rural communities in China has communal poop pits that the villagers use as fertilizers.
The government pays for attendants to maintain and supplies the public toilets. It’s the small private restaurants/shops that are really dodgy. But always BYO toilet kit, just incase you’re not in a big downtown area.
Seven years ago I went to Canada on a tour trip , the tourist guide took us to a countryside village & there they still use toilet which one does his thing in a hole dug in the ground , no water to flush but there would be a person who would top up the hole with hay later . That cabinet had a smell so strong that my stomach pain would not let go the faecal matter & I walked away with my stomach pain till we reached our hotel room that late evening .
I have bad joints and arthritis. I think I would become paralyzed trying to squat to take a dump. That's one thing I dislike about traveling to S.E Asia. Lots of places have more and more sit down the toilet but there are still lots of squat ones.
Interesting toilet episode. Never thought NY have so few or no public toilet..... It just sounds like if you have no money or not rich you have health, no education, no roof over your head and no toilet if you live in USA
@tigerroar649 nope, in an immediate will go home or my office has western, if I'm outside far I go in mosque which are most in my state. There are many places like malls, nearest house, and station subway etc
In the Philippines, public toilets can be found mostly in malls. But as for government-provided toilets, there are none. Only during holidays where I can see public toilets but I expect them to be nasty as they always are 😂😂😂. I can go to upper-scale malls or 3-4 star hotels for clean toilets.
Now in the USA at least the west coast for the last decade It started when Trump took office the 1st time as did the Calif fires but I digress , NOBODY has a public restroom at most places in the US now and if they do they wont open them to the public because too many ppl overdose on Fentynol and its a real problem especially in bigger cities and tourist areas IT IS ALMOST A CRIME TO ASK TO USE A BATHROOM so wear diapers or go before you leave and hope you make it back home before you go again ITS THAT BAD NOW
@@ack6668 Nope, it's a mostly predominant problem in Kimchi land. Don't know about Japan. In China, people who commit hidden camera crimes can get fined up to RMB 300k and get up to 10 years jail time, so criminals think twice about doing it.
@beproudasian8279 the same as everywhere else buy people still doing it. They're typically part of a syndicate. There's no way they can install it in hotel room and such without coordination from the owner. And probably they have more power over the hotel owner. They have their way to avoid the official. Or even in cahoot. In China with such strong party grip over the country ,it's even more prevalent. As long as you're connected to the party you're safe.

The first time I took the family to Venice we couldn't find a public toilet anywhere! We eventually had to get our relieves in a McDonald.

I was so surprised to pay 1.20€ in a Belgian public toilet in Antwerp.
This is entertaining and informative at the same time.
Meanwhile Russians from Siberia watching the scene in Harbin: "My neighbour, you are crazy"

Biologically if you squat… you wouldn’t have constipation ever. Seriously!
