    The most underrated PJ song

The intro to this song is one of, if not, the best intro Pearl Jam has ever done. Stones dark sound here is unreal. A perfect piece.... and you my friend have done it justice, bang on. Thank you!

Awesome Matt. The let's play two version of this is probably my favourite of the whole show.

Agree. Love Mike's solo in that version. Matt: would be great if you can do that solo lesson, also Johny Marr part on " All along the watchtower" in Portland 2006.

Brian Madden thanks Brian! Interestingly Stone seems to use a phaser on his guitar for that entire tune on the Let’s Play Two live version. I still owe you a tune request for your Patreon support mate so I’ll sort out the live solo as well as the studio one for part two of this lesson 😊🤘

You're welcome Jason! Proof that if you stick around for long enough I'll get to all of them eventually - still have the solo to come too :-)

Great stuff Matt! I need to get myself a looper so I can listen to how badly I'm playing... over and over again.

Chris S haha took me a few takes to get it right! They’re cool for practising with though, the Boss ones are very good but I struggled to get it to loop in time so I prefer the silver switches like you get on TC Electronic ones. Plus they’re only about £40 s/h 🤘

The first chord is Cmaj7/G (because of missing high C and G note on 6th string).
And since I don't have 12 string anything:) either and want to play it ringy, I play C as 035000 and Em as 079000 while adding 5 and 9 on G string for the "melody". Interesting thing happens harmonically because of open strings.

blejavac thanks blejavac! I really should look up these chords 😀🤘When I first had a go at this I thought he was playing x 3 2 0 0 0 but then adding his pinkie to the G string - x 3 2 4 0 0 Worked out the “Mike way” after watching him play it live 😉

Thanks for the video. Have you tried a rotary speaker effect instead of delay? I'm not sure how he does it either

D0Nmega666 MEGA I do have one on the MM4 but it’s more of that Soundgarden “Black Hole Sun” verse tone than Stones for this one. Thanks for the suggestion tho!
