just picked up a 2010 e350 m272 and i love it so far !! only 77k miles. doesnt seem to have anything wrong yet, taking it to a shop for a full inspection sometime this week
nice video and information, i have had them all since the W123! I did hang onto my 211 with 113K motor and my 212 with 156 motor - those cars i will keep till my grave
Very good informative video on the E-Class. I have a W212 2016 E400 and the car is truly amazing. Handles very nicely with absolutely no issues at all.
It would be important to mention that the W212 Sedan was drawn in the summer of 2006, I know the person personally who smoothed out the first drawing from three sides by hand and a ruler.G was the draftsman, he could hardly believe where he saw it that it actually existed.
This model of Mercedes E class suffers from failure of the rear subframe due corrosion, Mercedes replaced mine free of charge, the car also suffers from it plastic manifold cracking which puts the car into limp mode, my rear brake disc dust covers have vanished due corrosion, one gets silly messages which clear on the subsequent engine start. You must keep on top of maintenance i change my oil every 4000 miles, The engine oil cooler should also be changed as you approach 80k ( miles) With the coolant flushed too, As for the gearbox i don't trust the sealed for life , and would replace the fluid filter every 80,000 miles. Apart from that the car has presence and is a very good drive when everything is working, beware the subframe failure when it occurred caused the back end of the car to swing, the subframe corrodes from the inside so it cannot be seen.
I’ve got which l think is the best looking aggressive version, a silver pillar less 2011 CDi E350 AMG coupe version with the angled running lights and @ 38,000 miles it still looks brand new and like a million dollars 🤔 This version looks far better and more finished than the facelift which has the straight running lights and the big openings at the front
I have a 2011 E350 V6 M272 engine. It's been good so far. I had to fix minor things like the window regulator and some sensor by the front radiator. I was able to do spark plugs myself (torqued to spec), it was a breeze on this car. I did take it in for and transmission fluid change (when it hit about 104K miles)...an't do that yourself because you need special equipment to put it back in at a specific temperature. But overall this car has been good! 115k miles, running strong.
I am happy to hear your W212 has been good so far! I love the DIY aspect about the car. And I am due for the 100K mile service (A9 for me) in about 9,000 miles, so I hope to find a good price for that service.
115K is still a young motor. My wifes M272 on the coupe C207 has 266K miles and I have only had to deal with small vacuum leaks and intake manifold thus far. Last M112 motor lasted her 323K before we sold and it was solid. keep up the good work and good luck on your 2011
I have one and it's constantly giving me trouble. both nox sensors changed, dpf filter changed, both batteries seem to only last two years, now reading collision prevention assist plus inoperative warning. have had engine management light come on three times for no apparent reason, no fault found. auxiliary battery warning coming up intermittently even after the battery changed. Bought this car (e220 bluetec) at 4 years old with only 78,000 kilometres on the clock and i'd happily burn it to the ground...utter junk. Had an Audi A4 before this for 6 years, put 80k on it and not a single problem. I'll be going back to Audi as soon as i get rid of this lump of scrap.
Too bad engine quality plummeted after the M113 -- there's no comparison, and it isn't even close. The M113 powered W211 E-class cars are better in almost every respect: Quality, design, longevity, durability, reliability, safety.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I can back up what I have for safety in this video, as the W212 was the first gen to get a perfect crash test rating. The W212 is also has better build quality.
@@Vegas3662 Agreed. However, I have owned them all, going back to 1988 and build quality has definitely declined since 2006-07ish. Although, admittedly, the C217 chassis S550 coupe that debuted in 2014 appears to be an exception.
OUTSTANDING ...
Thank you sir!
The restyle came out in some markets in 2013. I have an Australian restyle W212 of 2013. I prefer the restyle. But it’s a matter of personal taste.
Interesting.
2015 E400…absolutely love this car
Love that sir!
