    17 Nov 2020: It is with great sadness that this morning's news report came of Jordan Petkov's untimely and sudden passing. We are greatly saddened by this devastating news. Thank you Jordan for your help and kindness; I never met you in person, but you assisted me and your legacy will live on. Rest in Peace, Jordan.

    very nice. I am building a 4 manual and pedalboard organ console. I used reed switches and magnets for the pedalboard contacts. I am using Arduino compatible micro processors to convert the pedal contact data into MIDI. The pedalboard connects to a keyboard by MIDI then each keyboard is daisy chained by MIDI into another Arduino board which is connected to all the switches for the Stops and Couplers. I connect the Pistons into their respective keyboard as there are more than 20 extra contact spaces on each microprocessor circuit that I built. I am in the middle of building the wooden levers for the Couplers and then will move on to design and build the wooden Stop Knobs. Eventually, the Stops and Couplers will each have an LED inside them to indicate if they are on or off.

    Hello! I bought the same kit as you. When I stick the magnet on the sensors, the red light comes on (note On/Off) but I get nothing on MIDI monitor. I am using an old midi to USB cable and I wonder if that is the problem. What do you think, is it possible that the problem is there?

      Yes, that is a possibility. If you contact the manufacturer of the MIDI kit, they can likely help you troubleshoot as well.

    Was the MIDI Convertor made by yourself?

      Hi, as I mentioned in the description, I ordered it from MIDI boutique. You can click the link in the description and it will take you directly to the product page.

    Can it be used for yamaha psr s970 keyboard? Tq 🙏

      Hi Yohanes, you should check the specifications for the Yamaha PSR S970. If it has MIDI to USB capability, then yes, you can use it. I am not familiar with that model myself. Some Yamaha keyboards come with this, and others don't.

    What is the function of the circuit board?

    • @the-art-of-organ-playing
      @the-art-of-organ-playing  3 года назад +4

      One of its functions is that it converts the signals from the hall-effect sensors into MIDI-signals that can be interpreted by computer software as "note-on" or "note-off" signals.

    Is the purpose of Midi Ox and a computer just to test to see if it works or can I avoid the computer and just plug it in to see if it works?

    • @the-art-of-organ-playing
      @the-art-of-organ-playing  Месяц назад

      Midi Ox is to test and diagnose if the signals are properly going into the PC via the cable. What are you referring to when you say you just want to plug "it" in - do you mean the circuit board?

      @@the-art-of-organ-playing What I mean is I do not want to have to use a computer at all for any phase of this. I hate computers. I'd rather test it by putting one note together per the instructions and test that one note and if it works, keep building it. I'd rather sit in a jail cell all day than have to mess with a computer and the problems I will have. I am one of them guys who has no 12 year old friends who can walk me through things..
      No offense intended by the way. Thank you
