Hey I love these videos but just curious this is good stuff but what Scott when the defense stacks the box against the run? Are there videos for that also? Or is it in these here? Again great stuff man
6:12 - 7:18, in your example, if you call a Duo run with 11 personnel (1 HB, 1 TE, 3 WRs) against a 4-3 defense, then you as a coach and your QB should audible to a passing play because your opponent's strong side (Sam) or weak side (Will) linebacker will not be covering your slot receiver (Y) if their LB stays in the box. In addition, your opponent's CBs will be blocked by your split end (X) and flanker (Z) receivers, then your two receivers will peel away to go to the third level to block your opponent's free safety and strong safety.
they could be in zone and show a box look pre snap. It's not hard to sprint out to the flats. Besides the fact that most college OLB's are just big safetys at this point in man you could align in the box pre snap and make it to a land mark to get into trail on a slot fairly easy if you're a nicklebacker type. I wouldn't assume just because they stay heads up that it's cover 0. it isn't 1980 anymore, those outside boys can adjust.
Well done. I coach middle school football and would certainly appreciate any blocking scheme materials you think would be appropriate for 7th and 8th graders. Thank you! Coach Cav
As someone who does not have experience at the middle school level, I’m not going to make any specific recommendations. Although, I will say learn from others. In general, Coaches love to help each other so reach out to other middle school coaches in your area and try to learn what they do. Maybe offer to teach them what you know in exchange for some help in something you don’t know. Also, look up middle school film and see what those teams are doing to get general ideas of what might work. I hope this helped. Thanks for the watch and feel free to reach out whenever!
In another video I can do the details of counter, but for now yes, you’re technically right… but also technically wrong….. It’s technically a read and he can do either depending on various situations (that I can do in another video). So yes!! You’re right that he can but also a little misleading that it is all he can do. For simplicity in this video I just choose to drawn the version where the lines were the cleanest. Hope this helps!
DaVinci Resolve. Free version is all you need. Anything behind a pay wall is for full on movie directing. Highly recommend. Thanks for the watch and nice words!
There’s a new one on the page and more to come! I have never left, sadly this just isn’t my main commitment so sometimes it has to be put on hold for stretches of time. Can’t wait to release more!
Gap names are completely subjective to the coach teaching it! So, one person will say you’re right, the other will say I’m right… and the funny thing is neither of us are wrong! Naming in football is subjective, it’s the concepts that matter. So, I try not to deliberate forever on names because it’s impossible to please everyone, the concepts are what matter. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video because its rediculous how little i know for how long I've been playing and no one really breaks it down like you do
I love this series! Football is so complex and it’s so fun to see this level of analysis for a sport I love so much
bro, your channel is one of the best to learn the concepts. I’m glad I found your videos
Amazing vid! Would love to see a vid on Zone vs man coverage or 3-4 vs 4-3 base❤
The next video is man vs zone and defensive coverages!
We also need one on analyzing film@@ChalkTalkFootball
This is so helpful, thanks dude!
Your explanations are incredibly clear
We used to number odds and evens our gaps
I really do like your Football 101 videos, please keep it up!
This is great!!!! You should do midline and veer for the option.

Awesome video!
I like the thumbnails on these vids. Did Coach Osborne run a lot of gap or a certain variation?
He invented Counter! He invented it at Nebraska and then Joe Gibbs popularized it with the Redskins. Nice catch!
He ran a ton of triple option which is essentially Gap scheme when you boil it down to the root of what you’re doing.
On counter, the wrap player wraps to the play side backer in the box. You drawn it as pulling to lead. Also Counter isn’t like outside zone!

Great vid 👍
My onw quip is a CB should never be unblocked, WR blocking is a huge aspect of run plays
Good video! What do you use to edit?
DaVinci Resolve.

@@ChalkTalkFootball hey man that’s all we can ask from you, thanks for the content
@@Polo_209 of course man! Hope to see you around the channel!
usually in offensive terms its 1 gap (a gap left side ) 2 gap (a gap right side) and so on and so forth
