    Alex good man for picking up the crap that other less respectful fishermen leave behind. Its one of my pet peeves, if you want to continue to fish the rivers leave them as you found them.

    Wader Safety - Can you do a video on wader safety? What to do if you fall into a river and get swept downriver in a set of waders? Should you wear a life vest?

    How do cast a single Spey rod and what streamers were you using. Great clips

    Enjoy your footage.Think crushed barbs maybe why you dropped so many fish on the swing.Try some purpose made barbless hooks with decent gape and turned in point.

    Alex, great video again, thanks. Can you explain what the appeal of the spey rods is? Neither you or others seem to have much success with them. Is it the novelty and a change from nymph and egg fishing?

    • @TrippinOnTrout
      @TrippinOnTrout  5 лет назад

      Pretty much mate, just a really cool way to fish. I’m sure someone who
      Knows a bit more than me would pick up a few more fish too but u def don’t catch as many as when u nymph. It’s frikkin sweet when u do tho....

    Hey mate enjoying the vids, question...whats the set up line wise you use for swinging streamers? Is there a weighted like sink tip to fly line and short leader or weighted streamer? just curious as haven't tried this method before...will be down on T@T and maybe Hini in few weeks,cheers

    thanks for the great video! I'm trying to understand how this fly fishing works... could you explain me why sometimes you cast downstream and sometimes you cast 45 degrees upstream or so?
    I tried on the ruamahanga yesterday with a dry fly and like 60cm after a nymph, but i think the nymph was too heavy so the dry fly was constantly going underwater and i was constantly setting the hook in nothing :D
    but i'm pretty sure i had one good touch, even though i missed it. Gotta keep trying! so Hutt river on the weekend!

    • @TrippinOnTrout
      @TrippinOnTrout  5 лет назад

      When I’m fishing downstream, I am fishing a streamer and when i fish upstream I am nymphing. Just two different techniques that’s all
      Bro🤙
