Agreed. Unless, of course, they have achieved that exhaust note somehow. In which case, I applaud them. The V8 note is not a patch on the V12, and one of the biggest disappointments on the DB12.
@@Hitchghosthey, the V12 is a visceral engine, and Aston recognizes it. If the DB12 had the V12, there’d be too much overlap between it and the upcoming DBS replacement which the V12 seems to be reserved for

What if Aston Martin gave a smaller grill and less busy head lights of the Vantage GT3 to the Vantage. Plus a manual option.
The headlights are not that busy at all, plus the grille on both the Vantage GT3 and the Vantage road car are the same size. The road car just has those massive air intakes at the sides of the front of the car that make the grille look wider
@@mrsoisauce9017 I am talking about a NEW smaller grille, not found on any of those cars. Besides i think the new headlights look way too busy for my taste, so something SIMILAR looking to those found on the Vantage GT3 would suit me better.
@@mariellarojas8562 tbh, the big grille on the Aston Martins isn’t so bad. Aston found a way to make it work on these cars. Besides, they serve a purpose beyond just looking cool, which is to feed more air to the engine that would normally be blocked off by the separation between the top part of the grille and the bottom (if we’re both talking about the same Aston grille, that is). I feel that, if anything, the smaller grille would benefit the DB12 more than the Vantage, and even then, the bigger grille suits the character of the DB12 as opposed to something more restrained like the smaller grille. Perhaps something in between both would be ideal 🤔
@@mrsoisauce9017 I respect your point of view, but for me that grille looks horrible, it is a trend that must stop. There are other methods to cool off the engine like having a more efficent radiator on the car for example.
@@mariellarojas8562 hey, as an aspiring engineer myself, sometimes you need all the air you can get, especially in a sports car like this. Besides, the new car was based on the old one, and the old one already had a big grille. You can’t exactly redesign it to handle less airflow so easily like that. Not here to change your mind on the looks. I’m just here to tell you that there is in fact a functional purpose for that

@@LiqdPT hey, we could have said the same about the GR Supra, and look what happened. It could be done despite the console layout. It just won’t due to that not being a priority for Aston Martin (although I wish they would, given that it’s supposed to compete with the Porsche 911, which is offered with a manual

Quick sidenote; if there’s ever a question of whether or not to build a manual (preferably a manual convertible) just keep in mind that if you build it well it will sell.
Past experiments aside, you won’t have a problem selling a beautiful car with a FANTASTIC transmission and driving characteristics if you make the engagement of the manual car emotionally worth more than the speed of the automatic.

If you've seen how the interior console is laid out now, it would be VERY difficult to put a manual shifter in.

If they do a manual is better be a normal H pattern not a dog leg. They did a dog leg in the previous model and was a huge mistake! Either people think they won't get used to it because they have other cars to drive so because of that they end up not enjoying driving it and because of that they decide not buying it. Or they fear get used to it and end up ruining their manual driving skills for other cars so they decide not buying it either. Also dog leg doesn't make any sense on the street and most of this cars will never see a track in its life others will only once or twice a year so it ends up not making any sense to customers.
