Thank you guys for explaining to me how impale works properly, i always thought it's just impale count that mattered, not actual hits, but turns out i was wrong. Very useful info, thanks again
impales have a limit they cant be more then the cap you have. So in your case its 6 so you cant have 12 impales as you are thinking and keep in mind impales can even proc with default attacks if you run out of mana.......
Hey can you look over splitting steel of ammunition? I remember last league when my friend got that skill from lab when playing splitting steel and apparently he liked it to use that skill instead of the normal one
Honestly believe generals cry will work better for this skill. 1 second attack and 6 of them. IIRC they all get a seperate earthquake thus it explodes 6 times instead of 1. Works well with the quality of the gem + generals cry with ashes of the stars for even more damage per duration.
I wasn't sure if it worked that way so decided to just go the normal route, and we get to have fortification since we're self casting as well as making use of the impaler node, but general's cry would probably feel a bit smoother, granted the focus does shift a bit from the skill itself to general's cry but definitely an option.
I think they really undercooked this skill. For how much clunky it is it should have double the current damage. And even with that buff it would still probably be C tier.
because i don't understand the impaler. I don't know why i need extra hits even though i'm getting max impales every hit, any idea why? cus if i hit for 6, and 6 is max, it should instapop and go on cooldown, but seems like it works different for some reason.
@@EldenSaul From the wiki: "The Impaler causes hits to inflict 5 additional impale debuffs, for a total of 6, to all enemies in an area, with the downside of preventing the application of more impale debuffs to those enemies for 5 seconds. This can be useful in combination with slow but powerful impaling hits, or potentially in a scenario with low available impale chance. Example: A character attacks with a slow or limited hit such as an exerted Vaal Ground Slam used during Phase Run, applying 5 powerful impale debuffs to an enemy and all other enemies nearby. A faster-hitting secondary skill such as Storm Brand or Cyclone can then 'cash out' the stored impale damage, before the debuffs' duration expires." Thats why i suggested storm brand
@@EldenSaul Because its impaler it works same as hammering nails. You dont deal dmg when u first place the impales rather you deal damage when you hit them again and again to drive the nails in and in.
@@Masterxdss hmmm, i'm still not grasping why the impales don't automatically pop at 6 since that's how impales work - reach max or wait 8 seconds, or does the wording "lasts 5 hits means actual hits - like i need to hit, not impale to pop it?
Bro this time u made this obscure skill even more obscure....... i watched ur bossing and you are hitting bosses in close range with earthquake which is actually wasting the whole damage from the impaler. why? because if a target is impaled it cant be impaled again for 5 secs. And earthquake works in two stages one is the intial crack when u use the skill and the second is the aftershock that erupts. Since crack also deals some damage (which is very low) all your 6 impales are applied with it. Which means all the impales are from a very low damage. So the correct way of doing this is to never hit bosses in close range rather place the crack away from them and then bait them to get in radius and hit them with aftershock which will be then apply all the strongest impales possible giving u tons of dmg when you hit them again. You can use a fast hitting skill like cyclone then to proc also those devastating impales to pretty much 1 shot anything.

You might wanna do a #13.5 for this video to give ur viewers a proper and correct look at how the skill is supposed to work.

Vaal Earthquake would benefit from your duration scaling and would help with a smoother mapping experience
I try to not use vaal skills, that's just me tho, you can use it for sure tho!

It will come at some point, it's fairly close to the bottom, stay tuned I guess ha

why not storm brand or smt like that? since u are using the impaler... its a good way to proc the hits from the impale itself, idk... just an idea

@@innerblaze420 gotcha, so i need actual hits to proc the impale damage then huh, now it all makes sense, and very good to know for the future

I was doing it for vulnerability from battlemage since i didn't know that impale needed hits rather than impales, but now i know, thanks
