- A 7 STEP GUIDE - HOW TO ESCAPE A NARCISSISTIC PARENT
1. DO NOT LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOUR PLANNING TO DO OR YOUR PLANS ARE.
2. Need to become financially self sufficient - get a job and build up an emergency fund.
3. Once your are financially self sufficient you now need to become independent of yourself in all areas. Cooking, cleaning, driving, your own car. Build yourself up, don’t be co dependant on anyone.
4. Start formulating a plan together in order of the steps you’re going to take in the correct order in which you will do this. (Without a plan nothing happens)
5. Give yourself a timeline that is realistic in order to complete your escape plan. (For me personally it took a 2 year solid commitment on my part to execute the plan)
6. Join a support group, see a therapist, journal or get support however you can because there will be tough days your questioning what your doing and if you should be doing it.
7. Execute on your plan at your own speed. (It’s different for everyone)

48 yo finally making the split yes at this age I had to do all of these steps b4 i could leave of course they continuously kept kicking me out during the process so I've been completely homless the last 2 yrs. There's hope I got a van now and in the end of October will be touring America starting a new chapter. Even got my name changed. Ty for helping people this is a killer thing to put a person through. Repulsive behavior to endure and heal from while trying to grow and flourish
