I have been his fan since my childhood. Wanted to live like him, all by myself in the hills and writing for a living. My family did not think there was enough money in this field and suggested I do science instead. I was definitely not courageous to take a call about my own career. That is perhaps my biggest disappointment that I was not brave enough. My biggest dream has forever been to meet him, and yet I returned from his doorstep in Landour, where he stays. Could I write a letter to him? Does he read fan mail?

I don't know if he reads fan mail, but you should give it a try!

I request you to give us a new video on the use of ‘in terms of’ and ‘as to’. (I feel the term ‘in terms of’ is over used or misused when the alternatives like as regards, regarding, about, pertains etc are available. Also, I think ‘as to’ is used where it is not required. For example, is it okay to say ‘I am wondering how you developed such a great vocabulary’ without ‘as to’?

Ruskin Bond : This name is very familiar to me. Many years ago, while working at a book shop in UAE, I happened to read a story written by Ruskin Bond, in the US edition of Reader's Digest Magazine. It was titled " The girl on the train "

Aww, one of the sweetest chats ever, but ended so soon!
Loved Mr Bond saying, "I am the English Nut...", and our English Nut saying that with a little emphasis on "I am"😃😃
On a lighter note, Mr Bond seemed a bit annoyed when you said "stuffed toy", instead of, "Timothy, the Tiger"

Thanks for this series of videos...the are really beautifully made... especially the recitation by Ruskin Bond that you add in the beginning! Another thing, the website you mention at the end does not work well. I tried to order something, but could not.

Maugham was a great writer, no doubt and made a fortune from his work but he had to pay a heavy price- he was orphaned young, grew up embittered, hated women, was bisexual, was fooled into the paternity of his daughter and was later told that she wasn't his, sarcastic, had stammering issues.......money 🤑 and fame, alright!
