      I keep saying this, but this game was nowhere near as close as the final score makes it look. GB massively outplayed the Bears, but just a few plays and calls fell the Bears' way to keep points off the board.

      And Love only threw 5 incompletions all game. If the packers were given credit for those 2 TD’s, Love has 4 passing TD’s and 3 incompletions. *MORE PASSING TD’S THAN INCOMPLETIONS*

      Not just drops either. Drops on absolute dime passes by Love. First one he was rolling right and throws a perfect high touch pass just out of reach of the defenders and the other was an absolute laser beam he squeezed past 2 defenders into the tiniest of windows. Gotta have both of those if they want to win in the playoffs.

    No Sam, there haven't been "runs" that Love has gone on where he regressed this season. There was one run of a few games where he seemed off, and the rest has been top ten quarterback play. I just learned that Sam is a Vikings fan, so that explains why he can't see through the lens of his emotions. That said, this is your job, do better.

  • @mattc1176
    @mattc1176 9 месяцев назад +10

    As for 'why wasn't he better early?'... It's his first year starting. He has all rookie and first year receivers, banged up RBs, they lost Bakhtiari after one game and then the (also young) line was in flux for several weeks.
    He still needs to improve his footwork and sure, we can't know what the ceiling is now. But COME ON guys, there's no sensible reason to think he's going back to the level he was at his first 8 games.

    With 32 TDs and taking the youngest NFL team into the playoffs after a 2-5 start, Jordan Love really should be in the conversation for MVP this season. His passing completion rate of 84% and 7 of 8 3rd down conversions vs. the Bears in a pressure filled (win or go home) game was the best performance of any Packer QB that I have watched…and I started watching with Bart Starr.

    • @ihcterra4625

      I think people confuse takes like this with 'should win MVP'. I don't think any of us think Love should win MVP, but Stroud has a few weeks as part of that conversation.. it'd be nice to see Love get a little shine.
      I think this is where the Favre->Rodgers->Love bit hurts him. It's becoming 'well, yeah, of course' and being discounted. If it was one of those years with two guys approaching 50 TDs I'd get it.. but there's no runaway favorite.

    The PFF guys may have missed context earlier in the year. A play marked down as bad for. "missed throw" or "sack taken" may not have had the context of "watson ran the incorrect route and that blew up the play." JT O'Sullivan had some great insights into this in his videos and it was common in the early season for Jordan Love to be out-playing his offense and putting up poor stats.

    The Packers and Jordan Love made the Bears draft decision easy. Bears management can look at the results and note the Packers quarterback remains significantly better than our QB. We can pay our QB $40 million per and lose two games each season to Green Bay, or we can get a top prospect with the top pick on a cheap contract for four years. It's a no brainer with the top draft pick.

    The only time the Bears were successful on offense yesterday was when Justin was throwing the ball, yet Getsy only allowed him to throw the ball 16 times. 16 times.... In 2024. He went 11/16 for 150 yards. Our RBs had 30 attempts with an average of 1.4 yards per carry, yet Getsy kept calling the same dumb pistol toss that didn't work the entire game. Let Fields play. Again, the only success they had was when he was throwing, so Getsy's response was to only allow him to throw 16 times. Make it make sense.
