If the US can't land in Europe, their force projection to the Middle East will become extremely difficult if not impossible. Some figures: NATO Europe spent 350Billion USD on defense in 2023. Russia did about 140Billion USD - 30% of their goverment spending. US spends 800 Billion USD worldwide.
