Well done I use to living in Plymouth about 13 years ago when I seen this video you took me back to that time I miss Plymouth it’s was brilliant thanks
Been alot of work going on in the middle of town for seemingly ever lately, but I've noticed there has been quite a big increase in city centre footfall the last 6 months.
What a grey dump it has turned into. Hole city centre just for students. I'm not surprised, no one goes there now. I live 10 miles away and haven't been to the city centre in years, not even been to the Box where the bus station used to be. So sad. I was glad they took the trees down and hopefully regenerate the dump, it needs it. Also when you see so many betting shops and charity shops, you know things have gone down hill.
Plymouth City Centre is dump. Junkies and alkies on every corner. I was there yesterday and saw one the local drunks smashing shop signs up. Police where there but dealing with 2 other druks, then 2 other officers were in the council office dealing with a violent drunk. This was 11am.
What’s happened to Plymouth it looks like it is just after the apocalypse the amount of people walking around and the shops open. It was great in the 70,80,90,s but has dramatically declined ever since. And now cut down the trees Last one out turn off the lights. So sad.😢
I agree....I was a Plymothian from the age of 1 to 23 in the fifties and sixties. Sad it is. The centre never was much good but there were interesting shops
@@002lisamarie the town centre, royal parade is nice but basically anywhere bar a few areas reminds me of Chatsworth from shameless. college is an unorganised shithole. people are rude. on the whole though, its a lesser of two evils
Just from watching the video: So sad! just a major road with cars 6 lane road with no pedestrian area. A six lane highway IS the city centre!! Difficult to cross the roads fencing to stop pedestrians - only one crossing point - a traffic light system 😞, otherwise roundabouts making it impossible to cross...if you manage to cross you have to stay on the side of the major road you've crossed for a long time. Thoroughly unpleasant even on a fine day! Must be horrible in sleet and rain and winds. The traffic noise is nasty the air pollution from cars must be bad Virtually nowhere to sit even if you are waiting for a bus. Who on earth 'designed' this mess? The one nicer area with trees is now treeless I understand ...all cut down in the middle of the night. Concrete blocks everywhere Why? Soul less place like Milton Keynes
Plymouth is a beautiful modern City with architecture reflex it's forward-thinking. 👍👍
I was a student of Plymouth Polytechnic in 1987 - 88 and enjoyed a lot.

I've not been back for 10 years. I can't believe how quiet it seems. Almost like a ghost town.

I agree. Just returned a few weeks ago for a visit after 10 years and got the shock of my life. It's been ruined!
I can imagine. Why would anyone want to go to what is shown on this video?
I think destroying mature trees is always sad.
