That would be a lot faster and if implemented correctly could record the positions. Also, for usability, you need to create a multi prong reset key to enable quick resetting.

In Germany its not that easy. If the side windows arent exactly clear it might be illegal to get them laminated. Cause they say that the glass wont let through the required amount of light. A friend of mine had to rip everything off, otherwise the cops wont let him go and the car had to be on a trailer. Its was a transparent foil, not any color in it.
I mean Real laminated windows. Not with some shady sun film or so. Like the wind screen. It's two layers of glass with a clear plastic film between. Ridiculously difficult to break through.
