I am an Italian MD and now I am home with COVID-19, though I am lucky enough to be just quaranteened home with a few symptoms. I work at my MAC listening to your amazing performance playng the most "monumental" composer of all times and I feel being in harmony with life, humanity and Lord. Thank you so much for bringing us this piece of heaven. God bless you1
Are you OK Guiseppe? I hope you have fully recovered from Covid and back at work. I love playing Bach on my guitar. Somehow his music makes heaven present. It seems almost as if God created it and asked him to write it down. It's been a great comfort to me during lockdown.
@@grahamebritton3748 Hello Grahame. Nice to "meet" you and thank you for your response. I am OK and still working hard in my hospital. You totally right about JSB. I keep listening to many different masterpieces that he created endlessly during his amazing musical history. Hope to hear from you, my very best. Giuseppe
I thoroughly agree. Bravo to Mr. Redzic, to J.S. Bach (il maestro di tutti maestri) and to Almighty God for giving us both. I am sorry to hear about your battle with COVID. There are many very worthwhile RUclips channels which you may find to be helpful. The one which I would recommend most is the one posted by the Frontline Doctors for Covid-19 Critical Care (flccc.net), which contains a wealth of information about the disease as well as recommended medical protocols to follow in dealing with this illness, all of which included taking Ivermectin, as well as a vitamin regimen which I'm sure that you are well aware of. Good luck, Good Health and may God bless you, doctor.
@@excelsior999 And may God bless you too. Today is the night of falling stars....The genius Vincent Van Gogh said "For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream"....I think we truly need dreaming, don't you agree? My very best
Bwv 998 is the piece of classical music I have listened to the most in my life. I’ve listened to bream, vidovic, David Russel, several pianists and many other people play this amazing volume of work and you my friend have blown them all out of the water with this beyond brilliant rendition, and absolutely fantastic interpretation and thank you so much for sharing it on RUclips. The way you made the allegro so easy to play aswell was also a pleasure to see. Going to follow you now and hope you’re playing in the north of England sometime soon you fantastic musician!!
Extremely well done. These Bach pieces do not easily lend themselves to the guitar. It takes extreme mastery to bring them to life as he does. A true joy to listen to.
Agreed, these Bach pieces do not easily lend themselves to the guitar, which is why I like to listen to other people play this wonderful music... there is no perfect interpretation/performance of such. I myself have been playing BWV 998 on the guitar for over 30 years and I don't think once have I been completely satisfied with my effort.
@@sunnyjim1355 the exception is bwv 999 arranged by bream in d minor. surprisingly ergonomic. everything else is simply written for other instruments. I also believe something is lost in these arrangements - they don't have the concision that is so characteristic of even Bach's most complex music.
@@sunnyjim1355 it sound fine your comment, also I share it I would say 100%, in this case the sound and tempo is very Bach Seldom I’m “satisfied “ Bach for me is an universe impossible to own, but sometimes if we are lucky we can get close enough I myself I’m studying Bach, and when I think I got something more or less, next time have to start like never I saw it before One bar of Bach is an incredible universe
A superlative performance and an equally superlative production by Mr. Redzic, who understands perfectly how to use audiovisual means to capture the magic of the music. Mr. Redzic is one with any kind of music he plays...here he has "become" Bach. His affinity with Bach can be seen from a earlier recording (in a much more humble setting) of the Chaconne...at age 23. Nothing short of miraculous. This performance shows his continuous evolution as an artist, deftly shaping the BWV 998 into an organic whole rather than 3 distinct movements. One of the few guitarrists whose interpretations of Bach I can place up there with the best on other instruments. Nothing of Bach here is lost either in transcription or performance! What a joy to experience this from such an epic artist. Mr. Redzic is the ultimate proof of the evolution of musicianship among a few of the latest guitarrists. This kind of playing is the realization of Segovia's dream of the classical guitar on equal footing with the other great solo instruments.
First: Finally a guitar player I can listen too. Second: When Bach is played correctly, he becomes manifest in the room. I know that sounds cracked out, but I’m sure I’m not alone in experiencing this. How? The performer’s sole purpose is to show us the joy and passion that Bach wrote with. When you do this Bach shows up. I imagine Bach is standing right there.
It is very easy to overplay this piece but to hold the elegancy until the end - thats is truly beautiful musicianship. Thank you for this masterful interpretation.
I heard some really great guitarists whose play enchanted me, but I don't know if I heard a more perfect performance that immediately forced me to leave everything at that and just listen to this amazing guitarist. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Yours is the friendliest version of this beautiful piece, apart from it being executed masterfully. It feels like it must have been a gorgeous sunny day when the great master composed this piece, when listening to you. Just heartwarming heartwarming heartwarming ❤❤
Thank you Sanel. I am learning this at the moment, and how wonderful to hear it not played like a machine! You have shown me how the expressivity of Bach can be realised on the guitar without compromising the structure of the music. You've made my day!!
Thank you for showing how this piece might be done. As a struggling guitarist at 86, somehow I had missed 998 until recently. Being able to play the notes is only half the battle, your phraseology is one of the most interesting and enjoyable of all I've heard on RUclips. I will listen to it regularly as I progress on with this wonderful piece. All I can say is Bravo!.
I like so much your performance, sir! You make it seem easy although it isn't t and you "paint" your playing with lot of colours and expressions..Congratulations, sincerely, Angeliki K.
It's said "a man's home is his castle" and yours is among the finest I've seen Sanel. Fantastic playing by the way and of one of my favorite pieces in the entire repertoire!
Wow your playing very nice. By seeing your performance, I want to learn more about the guitar. I love this song because i see your video!! Everyone will respect you. Thank u.
tellement beau... Quand on voit la tête de JSBAch on se demande d'où ça lui est sorti. Sûrement un don divin. A pleurer. A la guitare, et par un virtuose pareil, on reste estomaqué, flanqué, quasi mystiqué, ébahi, ébaudi, larmoyant, transpirant, ému.... bravo pour cette interprétation.
Wonderful! I just started working to learn the Prelude and your performance is a wonderful inspiration. Thank you for sharing this amazing performance.
The soft touch of the nylon strings is perfect for this piece. I’m a cellist, and I was trained to play Bach with “rubato” or rhythmic nuance, but there is another school which adheres to a more strict tempo. Both have their merits, no?
I can't top any of the comments praising this wonderful guitar player ... in this great triptych he captures some of the evenness or neutrality of the harpsichord ... not easy as the guitar itself often pivots off accentuated figures (or riffs) ... Redzic has beautiful hands, too ...
You are a brilliant Amazing 💕💕🙏 musician❤️ I can listen to you 24 hours! And see you playing is even more majestic😍 Thank you so very much! You are a GIFT from God! Wow Wow I’m blowing away with every piece you played You are divine! Many many blessing to you and Again thank you so much 🙏 9:48
Now I know why Bach put repeats in his music. You can't get too much of a good thing. I appreciate all the work that went into this. Such a shame that it's over in 12 minutes.
