Well done Tim, this is a veey nice build, the shifter and boot all looks great because you did the hole in the floor next to perfect. The welding is also 👌🏻 😊 ✌🏻❤️ 🇨🇦.
I liked your version of it, but I’ve recently been preaching a new mantra to myself: “Don’t let perfection prevent completion.” Every time I get stuck on a task or put off a project for too long, I say this to myself, and it has really helped me finish more stuff.
I had barely ever welded in my whole life a few years ago, and my 2nd gen needed front cab mounts and some small floor patches that I put off for years until they were too bad to ignore. I finally bought a Hobart mig welder and just jumped in the project and did it. It took me a few weeks but I did it and it was a great learning experience. Since then I’ve even done a few body repairs which I would’ve never had the confidence to attempt if I hadn’t done that job first. I avoided body work like the plague for 30 years but now I can do little repairs here and there pretty easy. I’ve also welded a ton of stuff since then and gotten confident with it. Sometimes just forcing yourself to jump into a project will make you learn and grow like you never imagined. Your welds were fine, and with how thorough you are, I’m sure you spent lots of time watching videos on how to do it and asking experts questions and learning along the way. A few years from now you might be making your own exhaust and welding it up without even thinking twice. Just add it to the list of skills learned in life.
Nice work! My biggest hurdle is to replace the top of my cab. I ve seen multiple ways of doing it, i just need to pick an option, drop the purse and get to it. Because im tired of tarping it every time it rains. Also if you dont know about steele rubber product you should check them out for window gaskets, weather striping and the hard to find vent window gasket. Keep up the good work.
Pro tip: Rotate your exhaust v band clamps down so they’re easily accessible with the cab on. Hate to drop the cab on and not be able to disassemble the exhaust
Didn’t think spatter was an issue with MIG, I’ve used tip anti spatter with my flux core welder outside and am impressed by it. Haven’t tried the spray. Quite the build, glad I’m subscribed to follow
I blew the rear diff in my 90 w250 shortly before deployment, I’ve been daunting rebuilding it since I never messed with a Dana 70, truck has been parked for 6 months now
I will say, I have torn apart and done rust repair on it. It’s now been sitting for two years because I’m scared to paint it and screw it up, I had paid someone and they messed it up. Sanded it all back down again
Work is a big hurtle. Ring gear went out and i dropped the trans and got a new ring gear on the fly wheel and the trans bolted back on in 3 hours after a 12 hour shift. I felt that for the rest of the week. But seriously give me warm weather and there isnt a single thing i wont do to these trucks i love them too much to stop working on them. Burnout just isnt a thing with these.
I have a 92 Dodge 250 diesel four-wheel-drive that is in great condition. The engine has a lot of miles on it and I would like to have you rebuild it. Is that possible and if so, how much do things like that cost?
Hey boss, i have a question i need some help. I installed a pin and gov spring in my 93. It runs amazing but i had to turn the smoke screw(yes on the top of the afc) basically all the in to get any low end power and if i turn it out it will lose power and so much it wont even throttle up untill it dies/wont start. Please help my fuel mileage is dieing lol

That's exactly what I was going for!

I’m with you on that!
Absolutely awesome build yall may this year bring yall blessings overflowing brother 🙏🏾
Appreciate the kind words!

That's awesome! You're right, sometimes you just gotta jump in and do it!
Thats one amazing machine 👍🇺🇸💪
Thanks! It's been a labor of love.
Looking good and eh that’s awesome for overcoming an issue that really wasn’t an issue. I’ll be getting my project underway here real quick.
Outstanding video. Is that a 5" exhaust feeding by your transfer case?
It's 4". I don't think a 5" would fit with the passenger drop tcase
Welds just got better end better. I am sure you changed your setting with the tips you got but being in a good position is always a plus.
COOTER SNOT!!! OMG HOW THINGS CHANGE. 20 YEARS AGO IT WAS CALLED "TIP DIP"😆
Love your videos man awesome stuff
Appreciate it! Glad you’re enjoying the journey.

Can't be sticking your stinger in cooter snot! 😂great video Tim
You got it! 😂
Just make sure the "V-Band" clamp opening relief areas are facing the very bottom for any excess moisture to drain off.
Good tip! I'll make sure I keep that in mind.

Oh dang! That's a good tip! I'm going to make sure I remember that.
Get some kind of zinc paint on those welds or they will be the first to rust. Great job on the welds.
Dude, thanks so much for telling me about that. I didn't know if there was anything like that out there. Just ordered some 👍

Yeah, axles are intimidating to me too.

Totally agree. I could work on them everyday.
Is that notch out spot on the fire wall gonna rust and the cut out spot in the floor area from not having it painted
I didn't show it but it but I always put just a little paint on that bare metal after doing something like that
@ okay :)
My biggest hurdle is always time. I have yet to figure out how to get over it…..

Unfortunately the ultimate American truck build will be my only contracted project. I'm going to focus on personal builds.
But what part of the country are you in?
Hola amigo cómo estás saludos acá de de Austin Texas Freddy Delgado nice video saludos y bendiciones

Are you on stock injectors and turbo?
@decentgarage yes I am
Interesting. Usually that shouldn't be the effect but you may need to add more timing
@@decentgarage I have it bumped 1/8th of an inch toward the head
@williamcurl1752 hmmm are you sure your throttle indexing is correct?
👍🏻
if you want to learn how to weld watch welding tips an tricks on RUclips
I'll check that out!
Can anybody with original wheels and hubcaps tell me the diameter of the hole that is cut out in the hubcaps for the manual locking hubs?
