Another great video Paul… it’s actually very refreshing to see some other makes and models of detectors other than the usual suspects shown an many Chanel’s… next for me will be to watch some of the Red Heat videos…amongst my collection i have a MK2 tucked away.

Hey Paul, I recently came across your channel and I’m loving all your videos - great content, super helpful and I’ve learned some new tricks - thanks!
I currently own a deeptech vista smart plus, my dad has a gold gain (so kind of deeptech fans here) and I’m looking for another detector for my wife. I was interested in the new Vista X but I’m also curious about golden mask detectors - particularly 1+, 1+ Uk, and the 4 WD. Out of them four, are you able to recommend one as better than the rest and in general how would you compare deeptech to golden mask? Also, I’ve been in touch with golden mask to ask if any of their detectors was suitable to use on the beach (I know about the 5-6-7 series but I wanted to hear about their analogue detectors) and they suggested that any of their detectors with a frequency of under 18khz would work well on the beach. Well, I’m skeptical about the 1+ and 1+ Uk but have you tried the 4 WD on a beach set at 8khz?
    Thanks,
    Nas

Hi thanks for taking the time to watch my videos, I obviously haven't done any filming yet using my Golden Mask and Vista X, but I can say confidently that I prefer my Golden Mask, that's not to say the Vista X isn't a very cool unit. Firstly I prefer the way it feels, I don't really like the S shaft on the Vista X. I both prefer and rate good analog machines over digital so I have no experience in any of the digital Golden Mask units, I have no doubt they're very good.
If I was going to recommend a machine then it would be the GM machine that I have which is the Golden Mask 4WD Pro with the wireless headphones. This unit has both 18KHZ and 8KHZ so you can switch between the two, the 18KHZ obviously unmasks and separates better than running it in 8KHZ but 8KHZ will punch way deeper so you have the best of both worlds. It's built really well, it's nice and light to swing and the audio is awesome, there's lots of nuances, you also have multi tone so you get a low tone for ferrous and a high tone for the nonferrous or you can run it in single tone so the iron won't come through. It has super fast recovery speed, does very well at unmasking and separating and it's a really deep unit with the larger coils. I haven't used it on the beach but if Golden Mask say it will work well in 18KHZ then I'd have no reason to disbelieve them. Finally, it's really easy to setup and run, I hope this helps.

thats probably better than my deus 2 lol the more im looking at detectors the more im realising the vdi numberso n screen and such mean nothing its all about the sound they are over complicating old technoldgy imp and charging £££££££££ for it

The latest tech machines on offer are overrated and overpriced and they don't have the performance we're made to believe, metal detecting will always be an audio/tones game, screens are pointless and so are VDI numbers, the golden mask units are fantastic for the price

@@paulwarrenmetaldetecting what would you rate the best machine you have used ?

@@kilner79 I would say my Nexus Standard MP V3, it's an outstanding machine, I have plenty of videos demonstrating it, I will be doing plenty of live dig videos with my Golden Mask when I can get out, I have a deep tech Vista X arriving tomorrow so that's going to be an interesting machine to learn. There are a few Bulgarian companies producing brilliant analog units, I have zero interest in what XP, Minelab and Nokta have to offer
