I’m actually very sad that we won’t be seeing Paddy as Viserys next season as he would most likely die before the s1 finale. It’s always such a delight watching him, especially in scenes with his daughter

I may have started watching because of Daemon, but I now watch it for him, but also equally so for Viserys. Paddy made a superb work bringing Viserys to the screen, absolutely brilliant, Emmy worthy in my opinion!

Thanks for bringing the Character alive and beyond. he might not be an effective king, but hes not corrupted by power, just a father anda king trying his best to do his duties, despite all the “leeches” and “maggots” trying to corrupt him. ❤ you Paddy .
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Paddy twice on Broadway in 'The Ferryman'. He was robbed of the Tony award IMHO. Not only will he be nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of King Viserys, I'm betting he's going to win the best.actor award hands down! Episode 8 of HoTD will be talked about for years to come. It was a masterclass in acting, cinematography, directing, & musical arrangement! Bravo!

Paddy Considine is one of those uniquely talented and amazing actors that deserves this exposure. It's taken years and years for him to be finally recognised properly and he absolutely deserves it. Ps if you haven't watched the movie "dead man's shoes" get it watched
Paddy is a world class actor he elevated the show with his performance. I actually got emotional at that last dinner sequence scene and Ramin’s beautiful music score as always was stunning and poignant. Great work.

I never cared about Viserys in the book, he was very “meh” and clearly just a narrative stepping stone to the dance of dragons. But paddy has brought so much to the character just through his expressions and mannerisms I’m gonna be genuinely bummed out when his character dies.

Viserys is now one of my favorite characters thanks to Paddy, I'll miss him. His band Riding the Low is really good, I've been listening to them for the past weeks and I just like it more and more. So I'm really glad he took this part or his other work would probably pass me by.

I love Paddy's performance as much as anyone else (he should be Emmy nominated) but I'd disagree that he carries the whole show. Milly Alcock's performance as Rhanera is, IMO, just as good and Rhys Ifans has a very good yet understated performance as Otto Hightower. I'm kinda bummed that Milly Alcock and Emily Carey won't be seen anymore after last episode.

When he was sitting in that chair and the maester wanted to leech him again, lips looking white and dehydrated and we saw how nasty his arm looked, he was talking with Lyonel Strong about his legacy and the camera faded to white, I thought he was gone. I mean, I knew he wasn't gonna die in episode 5 because of the story to come but the writing and acting in that scene had me 2nd and 3rd guessing myself.
@@antoniochasten3192 He did get a more effective Grand Maester after Mellos died, but also... health problems tend to wax and wane. He was probably better for a while after the scene you mentioned, before he got worse again. Repeat until one is bad enough to kill him. We don't know much about the nature of his illness exactly, but this is a pretty common pattern for various different kinds of diseases. I don't think it's a stretch, really.
I was completely unaware of Paddy, before HoTD - he said he got a script for GoT, I assume for the role of Ned Stark? I could see him doing that, in hindsight.

The fact that I’m British and seen Paddy in so much stuff and never realised he was a Brummy makes you realise what a great actor he is.

@@luke8801 He does but he's been looking on the verge of death since episode 5. When he was sitting in that chair and the maester wanted to leech him again, lips looking white and dehydrated and we saw how nasty his arm looked, he was talking with Lyonel Strong about his legacy and the camera faded to white, I thought he was gone. I mean, I knew he wasn't gonna die in episode 5 because of the story to come but the writing and acting in that scene had me 2nd and 3rd guessing myself.

@@antoniochasten3192 He did get a more effective Grand Maester after Mellos died, but also... health problems tend to wax and wane. He was probably better for a while after the scene you mentioned, before he got worse again. Repeat until one is bad enough to kill him. We don't know much about the nature of his illness exactly, but this is a pretty common pattern for various different kinds of diseases. I don't think it's a stretch, really.
I was completely unaware of Paddy, before HoTD - he said he got a script for GoT, I assume for the role of Ned Stark? I could see him doing that, in hindsight.
