A creepy little detail about Pagurus is that he is being controlled by a parasitic worm (during his second phase it will pop out from his eyepatch for the fear move) even though bobbit worms are not parasitic, it helps explain why Pagurus is always trying to eat everyone
I doubt it’s controlling him as much as just hitching a ride. I’m sure it doesn’t help his rage though
@@Churros_are_OverratedI definitely think it's controlling him to an extent. I think it's almost like a tapeworm, or those parasitic worms that replace parts of the animal in order to live off it's catches. Plus everytime Paguras eats you he goes "hungry" implying his hunger is limitless.
@@mr.worldwide7051 but it’s a real animal? A Bobbit worm is not a parasite in any way. If it manages to get in a crabs eye hole irl it would just die. But even if it didn’t at most it’s gonna steal some food from the crab by just grabbing it itself. There is no way for it to directly control pagarus, and at the end of the day he acts identical to any polluted boss crab, and those don’t have any worms
@@Churros_are_Overrated I don't think Bobbit worms generally hide inside other animals (much less crabs) but it did in this game.
So just because they exist in real life doesn't mean you can't alter certain behaviors of these animals in a video game.
But good point on the polluted thing, that's definitely the reason for Pagurus' aggressive behavior, but you don't really see much hunger from the other enemy crabs, just bloodlust, so that type of behavior does make Pagurus stand out from other polluted crabs.

I killed him by baiting him to the clif and doging and the first boss can also be skiped by just kicking the can past the boss barrier and skip him with more lvs
Yeah, this is by no means the only method, but its fun that the devs added this regardless. In my playthrough I just leveled and fought Pagurus as late as possible.
I killed him like that 15 min after finding the clif but died trying like 20 times gor any tips for the amalgamation boss
@@prebuilttarget7191 do you have the rubber band stowaway? If not I think it's worth getting I was able to do it pretty easily before the boss which negates any electricity attacks

You can also abuse spawn locations. If you make it to the central Vista, he spawns very close to it. The central vista also has scent markers. By quickly dashing back and forth along the scent markers, you can get off skewer attacks and force Pagurus underground before calling him up again. He does regenerate over time while underground, but if you enter and leave the scent markers over and over again, you will eventually defeat him
So the giant enemy crab's weakpoint is a banana allergy?
There’s a cheese you can do. If you find one of those “X” spots that becomes a ditch. You can lead the boss into their and trap him. He won’t try to get out. He can still hit you btw but you can hit him safely. It’s a similar cheese to transformers decepticons ds with the iron hide boss fight
or just cheese it like i did on your first encounter. he only spawns if go off the path and despawn if you get back on but doesnt restore his health. he also have set places he spawns so just find a spawn spot that is next to the spawn/despawn barrier and cheese it.
go outside, he spawn, hit him with a heavy, go back inside, he despawn. rinse and repeat
Lol i just spent hours fighting this guy. I was way too stubborn to look up anything online, but this is actually a hillarous weakness for what was an intimidating boss.
