Hi Banan! Great work landing a first-time MC gig! Familiarise and practice your duties so much so you can feel comfortable showing up and be seen and heard by the attendees.
Don't try to "present", "be funny" or "be the MC". First focus on building a human/approachable connection with your audience who would be proud parents and grandparents. Imagine what sorts of things they will be thinking, feeling or doing before the event.
Be confident to ask for help and offer help to others on the day of the event. If there are other parties involved like catering, band/DJ, or photographers, ask them what you can do to make their day easier.
Smile! The longer you are keeping a room's attention at the beginning of your opening, the better the chances the attendees will be on your side throughout the entire event.
Know that something unexpected can always make its appearance after you lay out a plan, but that's why they got you to lead the way!
      All the best!
