Andrew I loved being introduced to your lovely island and seeing all your projects you’ve made but I also so enjoyed knitting with you and listening to your stories and histories please keep blethering on it is very relaxing and interesting. I even enjoyed knitting this sock heel flap. LOL.😄 May you and yours have a very blessed week ahead. ✝️ - Brenda
Oh my friend, you never waste my time. I love seeing and learning about your country. Thank you for taking us along and thank you for your company. You are a joy to watch and listen to.
Hello from Texas USA... enjoying your channel so much! Love hearing you talk, it's thrilling to see the sights and I knit right along with you! God bless ❤ P.S. I would love to hear more of the history of my ancestors!
ANDREW thank you for your time and for chatting to us on "Extra Stitch ". Your voice is delightful. I haven't tried circular knitting yet but I shall as I hate sewing up. The history of Arran is very interesting please keep that in your talks. Our Shetland Sheepdog is called Robert The Bruce or Bruce for short and he lives up to his name by his stubbornness . He comes with us on holidays to Scotland and Nth Yorkshire, and no doubt will luv Arran if we can travel up to you, it's on our holiday list. Please give our birthday wishes to your daughter Kate and wish you and your family peace and contentment.Pauline Essex.
Andrew, it's so nice just to sit and knit with you, and hear about the history of your area. So sweet of you to knit your Daughter A sweater, it's so special. Take care, and keep on with your good works
So enjoyed the calm of just sitting and knitting while you chat. It’s fine. I have limited social time as a 24/7 caregiver to my husband so taking a pause to knit and listen provides company for company. Thank you. A nod to Chiagoo interchangeables too! A bit pricey but I like them. I would enjoy historical snippets and maybe a visit to your shepherdess friend for a farm tour. I’m learning spinning so sheep to shawl angle would be fun! Bless you!
Andrew....you are always so delightful to watch and listen to. Your voice is so relaxing. I love the stories you share. I am a believer that knitting should be enjoyed and not a race. Knitting calms and often centers me. Thank you!😊
Please continue to do what you’ve been doing. I truly enjoy looking at the beautiful landscape and all and listening to the history of Scotland. Visiting Scotland is something I truly want to do. Praying that I’ll be able to come to visit and participate in the retreat.
I’m so happy to have discovered your channel! It is a delight to spend time in your virtual company! Like you, I leaned to knit as a child from a family member, my New Zealander aunt, using a couple of dull tipped pencils. Your heartfelt perspective on the glory of hand knit items is refreshing in a world that often moves too quickly to allow reflection. Thank you for sharing your magnificent island with us-I look forward to your future episodes. With regard to this particular episode: 1) I love the format of just knitting and chatting. How about a future conversation centered on the topic of knitting as metaphor. I’ve often mused about how the process, structure, and feel of knitting reflect truths about life. 2) Although I long fo own a set of interchangeable needles, I have quite a collection of bamboo tipped circulars and double points. My local yarn shop (I live in the US in a suburb of Chicago which has, I believe, a Scottish name-Glen Ellyn), and the available brands are Chaio Goo and Clover (which is Japanese). I much prefer bamboo to metal or plastic tips. Some of my bamboo needles have extremely pointy tips, making them great for stitch witchery. I don’t see any descriptions on the packaging referring to the tips, so look carefully to get the type of tip you desire when purchasing. Hope your daughter’s jumper is a huge success and she has a wonderful birthday! 😁
Hello again. Keep doing what you are doing that is how we got hooked!😊 Please don't put to much pressure on your self to crank out videos. You do have a family, work , your community, and a sweater to finish.💝 See you the next time - sooner or later. I'll be waiting patiently, and I believe others will be too. God bless. (Ohio, USA)
G’day Andrew, I really enjoyed your “blather”, “wee bits” and “rabbiting on” 😂 It’s Easter Saturday here is South Oz, a quiet evening, Easter greetings 🐰🐣🐰🐣
I really enjoyed watching and and listening to you giving some ideas for outings❤ As I knitted along thinking how cool it is be with a huge knitting group . I am knitting from Victoria BC Canada . Blessings to you Andrew.
Thank you for the lovely chat & all the highlights of your home land can’t wait to visit via your program. I visited Scotland for a two week road trip many years ago & have so many fond memories. I live in the Bay Area near San Francisco in California USA. Thank you again for all your programs.
That was lovely to be able to sit and knit with you. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule. Looking forward to more of your Extra Stitch. xx
I really enjoyed the Little Wee Bit of Knitting with you today Andrew! Just what I needed while I was finishing the toe on my latest pair of socks. I hope you will continue these episodes when you feel in the mood. Love your daughters sweater. She's a lovely girl and isn't it fun when our kids like our knitting too??
This was so relaxing to listen while crafting and cleaning. More videos like this would be great! Thank you, Andrew. Happy Birthday to your daughter! 🎉
I taught myself to knit in 2003 after finding a complete kit to make a newborn hat and booties. I am currently knitting a throw for myself. I love your stories. My great grandfather many generations back was from Scotland. His family name is Cox. Not sure what part of Scotland he came from. He immigrated to America in early 1800’s. I am in coastal Texas and it was 65 F today. God bless your family and you.
I'm so glad I found your channel. You're so enjoyable to watch. I really like using hiyah hiyah knitting needles. God bless you. Hello again, from USA Ohio. Can't wait to see more
Great time. I was spinning will you knitted it was fun listening. And my great x4 grandfather was a Macdonald and grandmother was a Frazier. So we are cousins lol.
Love, love it! Keep them coming…both the knitting and vlog episodes. I love hearing about the history, seeing the area and looking at your knitting. Chiagoo ll the way for needles.
I just spent a lovely Thursday morning, hanging out with my evil parrot and knitting before it gets too hot (38C today ugh) and listening to you! My husband's grandmother was from Aberdeen and came out here in the 60's, and she was a pit knitter and a thrower like your grandmother. Up until she couldn't do much of anything anymore, she would speed along like mad with her knitting, even though she was down three fingers!
Watching you calmly sitting knitting was lovely this afternoon. We just got home from a few days with the Grandchildren. Here in England, there have been certain days when teachers have been on strike for better pay. The family and I are in complete support of this. However, because Mum (our daughter) and Dad both work, we got the call for help. But then, school changed their mind and the children were given the choice, stay with us or go to school. They both l9ve school and thus chose to go in. So that meant we could do some exploring and then spend time with them in the evenings. They go to several clubs in a week, so we watched them doing things like gymnastics. We just got back and home seems very quiet! So you were just the calm, quiet watch I needed! I would l9ve more of these episodes, but also to see more of your beautiful island! Knit-pro do sell their thinner interchangeable needles seperately. I have a pair of wooden 3.25mm interchangeables and I think they do th8nner ones too.
Hi Andrew I’m crocheting while listening to you. I really enjoy your interesting conversations and it’s just like being with friends in the craft group. Keep up your great work and conversations. God bless you. Robyn
Hi Andrew, I have watched you since you started and love watching and listening to you. I was absolutely delighted and shocked as our name is Currie. We had visited Arran many years ago golfing and played Shiskine, we thought we were on another planet, it was beautiful. We never knew anything about this history. Wait until I tell my son, who lives in South Ayrshire😮. We will be over as soon as we can. Many many thanks for this.
Such a great podcast! I love hearing about all the history along with the knitting ....let's have more of these knitting chats! My heritage is Irish and I would love to hear if you know of any connection there with Ireland
As always I enjoyed to listen to you. I got some ironing done and even found time do crochet a bit. I am looking forward to those episodes when you show us more from Aran.
Andrew, I so enjoyed your ramblings- it gave me a chance to relax and knit with you for half an hour. I absolutely love the regular podcast, but this was so nice and relaxing..I guess I love both!! Have a great week 👏
I like your take on not rushing when knitting!!! My mom taught me to throw rather than pick. It is like a meditation. Keep posting!! So enjoy your chats!!
Hi Andrew. I absolutely loved this episode. It felt like you were in my living room and just chatting away as we both knit. So relaxing. It was also very interesting because my husband and I will be in Scotland in May for the first time since the pandemic to celebrate our 30th anniversary. As my husband was looking over the map, he said "we've never been to Arran, maybe we should visit." I smiled and said as a matter of fact, I'm following someone who lives there. He and I have watched all your videos and are going to try to include Arran in our journey. Well done, you.
What a vast and interesting knowledge you have and what a beautiful ace you live in. I am a yarn "thrower" also, my granny came from Norway so of course was a continental knitter but as a little girl I couldn't do that so was happy to throw the yarn.
Thank you for this, it was exactly what I needed. I had just got in from a day talk on Leading your Church in Growth, only planned to sit down for a moment. Half an hour later I am still sitting here and done some knitting and feel more relaxed. 😊
I liked the chatty knitty episode. I found it very entertaining and relaxing as I was righting a skein of yarn our schnauzer puppy stole and made a tangled mess
I'd be interesting in any quilting shops in your area. I bet I'm not the only knitter that also quilts. And I love any and all museums. History in your area is fascinating!
Loved having a sit and chat with you....fascinating stuff. Could listen to your accent all day! Looking forward to your future travels and will so enjoy being with you vicariously. X
Love hearing about all the places and history of an area that dates so far back in time. Relaxing and fascinating as I knit on my 1/2 and 1/2 triangles wrap.
Hello, it was really nice, peaceful to knit, drink an afternoon tea and listening you telling stories... very comforting in our chaos in France... and I am a thrower knitter too, I've tried continental style, but it was not for me... You are right, knitting is a slow and enjoying process ! Have a nice end of week !
I really enjoy all your content...regardless if you are sitting and throwing a stitch or your guided tours through and around your island... I welcome all of it... whatever you choose, I eagerly awaiting your next video...
Sitting and knitting with you is great. Love all the info on the island and about Scotland. I crash on Sundays because of being up early and I am the organist/choir director at my church. It’s enjoyable but also stressful! You will not be disappointed with Chiaogoo needles. The red lace cables are “to die for!” And I find the tips to be just right for most projects. If you’re thinking a wood needle, then Lykke needles are lovely birchwood and very worthy of consideration!
This was such a great episode - I am so pleased that there is so much on your island for you to show us in the future - it means that you will be podcasting for a very long time! I love these sit and knit episodes - it is like sitting and knitting along with a friend.
I like a just sit and knit session ! Seeing places is good but sometimes just sitting and having a wee blather is awesome too - see you on the retreat x
Thank you! I love hearing about the history of Arran and Scotland. You’re very knowledgeable. It’s been a pleasure sitting and knitting with you. I’m looking forward to future field trips with you 🙂
I’m a thrower and like a nice smooth high quality bamboo set. I’m tired of the less expensive which are just not as good for the long haul. love Tulip set, Lantern Moon set and Audi Click set. All pricy - all worth it. No regrets. Thanks for your great podcast.
Yes I also find that knitting calms my mind while keeping my nervous energy occupied. Very calming also to listen to your voice and watch you knit. I can recommend Addi 2.25mm needles for smooth transition from cable to needle. Mine are metal though. I have heard that ChiaoGoo are good but don't have personal experience. Interesting to hear the local legend around Bruce and the caves. We were taught (in England) that watching the spider climb up the wall and fall back again and again gave him the idea to try, try and try again. I suspect that was to pass on some sort of moral message - the networking sounds more probable from watching the spider weave a web. I would love to see those caves in a future episide. The history of the Isle sounds absolutely fascinating and look forward to seeing all those places over time. Thank you for the chat I found it very enjoyable. 😀
I really really loved this episode. Sitting, knitting and listen to you telling stories from Scotland. I would love some more of those sit and knit - storytelling sessions.
I found a new word! It describes this video perfectly! Relaxedness. The world needs more of this, thank you Andrew! Birthday greetings to your daughter.
I so enjoy your podcast Andrew! My husband-who I cannot convince to learn to knit- will sit and watch your podcasts with me. We both love the historical info and the “field trips”! I never come away from watching you feeling as if I’ll never meet up to those expectations. Just the opposite. I feel like you are now one of my knitting buddies who I so love to sit around a table drinking coffee, catching up, and of course knitting with!
Great visit early this winter morning,,,,,Thanks Andrew,,,,

I love to sit and knit while listening to your calming voice. Keep it up.
I enjoyed "sittin' and knittin'" while you were "rabbitin'" on. It was very relaxing in the middle of my afternoon.

Andrew my daughter knits exactly the same, she says there’s no hurry as she enjoys every stitch.
Always a pleasure to watch your podcast.
Really enjoying knitting with you. Thank you!
I am enjoying your sharing the local history with us.
Loved having a sit and chat with you....fascinating stuff. Could listen to your accent all day! Looking forward to your future travels and will so enjoy being with you vicariously. X
Your accent is a delight, keep talking 🤩
Love hearing about all the places and history of an area that dates so far back in time. Relaxing and fascinating as I knit on my 1/2 and 1/2 triangles wrap.
Hello, it was really nice, peaceful to knit, drink an afternoon tea and listening you telling stories... very comforting in our chaos in France... and I am a thrower knitter too, I've tried continental style, but it was not for me... You are right, knitting is a slow and enjoying process ! Have a nice end of week !
Llyke are my sets and most loved . Driftwood . They are my sock knitting
❤
Chiagoo interchangeable Redlace....many sizes to choose from and sets. My favorites. Best cables opinion.
P.S. From San Diego, California, warm spring wishes for you and your family.
Very happy to listen to you blather while I sit and knit on my socks ! Thanks ❣️
We Scots dont blather, we blether ;)
This was such a great episode - I am so pleased that there is so much on your island for you to show us in the future - it means that you will be podcasting for a very long time! I love these sit and knit episodes - it is like sitting and knitting along with a friend.
I loved this episode; I’ve loved every episode to be honest. Love the history you share! Thank you.
Loved this episode as well. Thank you for the interesting chat! 😊
I like a just sit and knit session ! Seeing places is good but sometimes just sitting and having a wee blather is awesome too - see you on the retreat x
ChiaoGoo!! Love them so much and the cables that come with the sets are particularly nice as well. Love your channel 😊
Thank you! I love hearing about the history of Arran and Scotland. You’re very knowledgeable. It’s been a pleasure sitting and knitting with you. I’m looking forward to future field trips with you 🙂
I loved knitting with you! Please feel free to keep doing these. ❤
Blather all you like if the conversation is about Scotland or knitting. Loved the episode.
Loved the whole thing.
Hello to the hubby - get those needles out, fella!
Loved your podcast again, with the interesting information. It's just if we have a high tea with talking and knitting.
I just loved this episode....the touring around, the sittin' & chattin'....love it ALL! As always, I look forward to our next encounter! :)
Thank you for another lovely visit.
