I knew it!... lol, I knew you were one of Robin's men... Fine family moments, creating memories, and passing the torch to the next-gen... good on ya mate!
As an Aussie, I would go camping here in Australia if I was able to sleep under a tarp without wondering if I'm going to be bitten by jack jumpers, inchmen, bullants, spiders and ticks. I would rather take my gear to Sweden to enjoy their Allemansrätten (The Right of Public Access) law that allows me to camp anywhere I like in their wilderness without fear of a $400,000,000 AUD fine for every eighth of a nanosecond I've had my eyes closed and possibly sleeping.
seriously first thing I seen is big NO IS YOU have grabbed wood with all moss growing over it to burn ETC ??? Ask your self why we don't search wood in that state of decomposition or hollow logs etc etc .??? Dare say no idea 😮
Mate! Are you doing this in the middle of winter? You're in NSW right? It's freezing ATM with rain every other day. Talk about dedicated and keen! (Gr8 channel BTW).

what hut was that?,as I go 4wdriving up in the high country
Great vid mate. Could you give some more info on a friction fire please. Eg, type of wood that you use. I live in NSW west of the range. Cheers mate.
What technique are you interested in?
Probably a bow drill
Ok cool. If you have silver or black wattle and Hazel Pomaderris, that's what I have good success with. I do have a vid on it
Other wise you may just have to experiment with stuff. That's what I've done, just gone out and worked it out.
Thanks mate . Found the vid. I'll give it a go.

Yet another beautiful vid mate, especially as you've got your to girls with you.
Bloody awesome ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it.
How come I've never heard of old bushies using bags of wheat to stay warm? it's thermal properties are great and you can also eat it.
Yeah I haven't heard of that being used by them. I could see it being used more at a homestead environment. Good thinking
Love this mate. That kid will remember these memories for a lifetime.
