Want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your video's. I am 52, living in SA. Our country is going down hill because of corruption in our government. We use to have electricity everyday of the week, 365 days of the year. But now we have power on and off due to lack of maintenance and funds in our government. I need to get of the grid, and watching your video's is helping me to do just that. Thanks again.

well, done I'll have to go over it a few times as i am getting it in my thick head. sometimes i get more the second time remembering electricity kills. Can never be dilly Dalling around with any type of voltage
    thanks for your time.

Your videos are very helpful. I did have a question. I have a 100amp panel and plan to buy two 6500w inverters. The conductor from Inverter AC to the panel, by code is #3 copper and what I've noticed is the largest wire to fit in the inverter terminals is #4 AWG. I will install a disconnect between the panel and inverter. Can I use a reducer adapter (3 to 4) and what size and type of disconnect, would you recommend?

Where did you get 300 volts from in your formula at the 10:20 mark?
If the panels are in parallel, which in you example they are since the amps of each panel are added together, the voltage of the three panels together should remain the same which according to the label on the back of the panel in your example the open circuit voltage is 21.2v (at the 6:12 mark). So, the voltage (the bottom number) in your formula at the 10:20 mark should be 21.2 not 300!
The only way you could get 300 would be to add the wattages of all three 100 watt panels. That would give you 300 but, of course, that would not be voltage which your formula calls for.
Can you explain where I have misunderstood or your example is wrong? Because, I am confused. thank you
PS: All that talk about the inverter etc. does not apply to my application because the panels feed a charge controller which, in turn, feeds my LifePO4 battery.

I bought the wrong AWG 14 WIRE FOR MY SOLAR AND MY 3000 W HYBRID INVERTER AC utility works but when i turn it off the solar not coming on i put the correct setting for settings 1 for first solar but no power and the green light flashed when i change the setting s usb on setting 1 utility kicks in and the green light stays on no matter what i do i can not get the solar to work i have 10 solar 275 watt each which is 2750 watt on a 32.5 feet cable awg 14 with an 10 amp circuit breaker i bought the wrong circuit breaker to i should of got 25 amp one i waiting for a new one to come but changed setting on on inverter for 10 amp to come in because
of the relay i also have it on setting NO 5 USE USER defined and went to settings 26 27 29 and using the defaults i mean on it for 2 days and still i can not get battery to charge or solar to charge batter Please help me. and tell what i am doing wrong. could it be the wire being being to small?

I know you need to follow your local electrical codes but I think that putting fuses on solar panels is pointless since solar panels have high output impedance and the cables should be sized to easily carry the short circuit current rating of the panel or string. Under what conditions would one even generate enough current to potentially melt cables? Even if you shorted the output cables of the combiner box, I doubt that the cables would even notice and I doubt that any fuses would even blow.

But you don't mention that the effect of the distance between the sorce (solar panels) and the inverter , it's important to know ، If the distance is double, the wire size will double
