Setting aside your absolute Mastery of the Brush stroke, I am very appreciative of your “Factual” commentary, some artists talk gibberish, but you actually talk me through your project so that I have a very clear understanding of how you achieve such delightful results. Thank you.
I was able to watch this after a long day of taking care of a sick relative and it provided me so much relief and peace. Thank you. Thank you. Your painting is beautiful but watching your method and hearing your comments was so much more.
Beautiful painting. I watched the video and then done this painting following along. I find this very informative and inspirational. Thanks a lot for sharing
Such beautiful paintings. You’re very talented. I liked your free style and easy going technic and no fuss. You’re very kind hearted to have shared your techniques without any editing and free. Thank you very much Sir, may your life be filled with good health and happiness always. Warm regards from Malaysia
Absolutely beautiful work, only recently found your videos and love your style of painting. I’ve only just started watercolour painting 🤪 and hope one day mine maybe will be as gorgeous as yours! Thank you
Fabulous instruction! It was so much fun to follow along with you and I learned so much. Between your books (I have two of them) and your tutorials, I think I am finally learning how to paint watercolor. It’s hard to believe that in my 69th year I am doing something that not only challenges me but that brings me such joy and contentment. Thank you both (your wife as cameraman) for your patience and good cheer! Keep well and safe!
Thank you Charles, another beautiful painting. It’s lovely to watch how you build your picture, it looks great. Thank you to Gail for camerawork. Many thanks to you both. Looking forward to visiting gallery, shop soon.
I loved the tips about color behavior, like putting blue on top of green. Seeing your process from scratch taught a lot. Tks for this video and tks for who filmed ot perfectly
Thank you again Charlie. You are wonderfully generous . I learn so much and so quickly watching and listening to these great demo's. You are one of the greats.👍😃
Mr Evans I am learning how to paint in watercolor as a way to heal after the loss of my son, and it’s helping. Your instruction is much appreciated thank you
"'Allo 'allo 'allo, what's all this then?" Constable country!! 😉 This is my part of the world with the local towns and villages crying out to be pained - Sudbury, Lavenham, Long Melord, Dedham etc - beautiful part of the world and your painting Charles just typifies an idyllic Summer scene in one of these beautiful sleepy little villages, love it.
The interplay between light details and depth, the friendly atmosphere of the work of art in general, puts the viewer in a good mood. That’s how I feel. The picture radiates happiness and the viewer is drawn by this positive mood and wants to linger while watching. . . I think your work and technique are excellent, thank you for sharing this with us. Greetings from Germany. . .
Besides the beautiful painting, you are an excellent instructor. Perfect talking pace and tone with all clear information. Step by step application, unbeatable. Couldn't ask for better from such a quality artist. I thank you.
Such a lovely painting, and more my style than some of the painters who use a really loose style. I've learned a lot about the way you use your brushes. Thank you!
A fantastic demo clearly explained and hopefully I will try to create my own version but taking a lot from your example, you are a superb artist which i now interned to follow, thank you
What a joy to watch, and as a West Riding woman of similar vintage I love hearing your vowels! You really do make the whole thing look very easy. For me it’s not! It is a great help seeing, for example how you do shadows, and how things blend together when you are using a limited range of colours. Really nicely filmed as well. Thank you.
I loved watching you paint. This is so beautiful. You make it look so easy. I wish I could paint like you. I usually paint in acrylic but watercolor is my favorite. I am only a beginner and I just don't have the confidence to try watercolor. I have a small picture from my childhood that hung on my mother's bedroom wall that looks a lot like this picture. I saved it all these years and I want to try to paint it in acrylic. But just watching you makes me a little braver to try watercolor.
Charles amazing picture with your own way of expressing how to achieve it very few actual colours are used, brilliant thanks for sharing it and explaining so well calmly
I have followed your marvelous tutorial, sir, and I ended up with quite a lovely painting. Thank you so much, you really made me believe that I could do that! It would be a great pleasure to see more of your tutorials, they are gretly appreciated.
Love this one. Thank you for recommending aquiline brushes. Thought it could be another sales pitch, but actually they are as good as you described. As a beginner, have wasted a fortune on brushes, but I find these brushes also adapt to Acrylics as well as watercolour. Lovely sharp edges. Could not get them from local art shop but got them within 3days from your website. Thanks Charles jocelynkx
Looking at the state of your pallet, I’d never expect you could create such a beautiful painting with such bright clear colours. This is the first time I’ve watched you but it certainly won’t be the last. I could watch you paint for hours but my ocd really makes me want to clean up that pallet. ( no offence intended) 😊🎨🚰
Charles Evans I can understand that and I’m so impressed with your painting 🖼 but how do you know which colour is which or is like a mobile phone and you know each key like a second sense? All your colours look the same to me lol
It looks fantastic, Charles. I am only starting out in watercolour but look forward to using some of your techniques. I heard goathair brushes are good but again they are quite expensive to purchase, however, you can get them in those same sizes or close to in Australia. As for the paints, I might add the sand and yellow ochre to my collection of about 8 colours, all of which you mentioned in this video. Thank you for doing it in real-time so we can see it step by step. I would love a link to some tips for beginners.
Beautiful painting. New subscriber. So glad you popped up on my feed. I’m new at painting and you are an awesome teacher. Can’t wait to watch your other videos.
The water is mud, the palette is a mess and still the painting has pure, transparent colors. Charles, you must be an artist!! :-) Thank you for sharing your process with us. The painting is beautiful and it was so nice watching you painting it.
Lovely to see you painting the Suffolk house and landscape😊Nayland is only a coupled miles from my home ... it would be lovely to see a tutorial of you painting the timber frame houses in lavenham 👍🏻. You really have got me back into watercolours again, love watching your quickies 😊
I love watching your videos, I have been watching while walking on my treadmill during lockdown, tedious exercise but made enjoyable by watching you. Thankyou.
I really enjoyed watching this whole process and the outcome of this painting. I especially liked the way you did the trees and bushes with the brush and colors. I have wanted to paint a wooden bridge I photographed with a lot of greenery around it but have been hesitant. I think I will take a stab at it after watching you paint this one. Thank you so much.
Brilliant video, brilliant painting. Been looking to see new uploads. Hope you and Gail are well hope to see more inspirational videos soon. Stay safe.
Beautiful Charles! Makes me want to be in the English countryside ! I can’t wait to try some of your brilliant techniques! I especially like the fact that you only use four brushes! I get a bit brush crazy and it gets confusing! Lol Thank you for another lovely tutorial! Last week I tried your Scottish castle!
Charles you amaze me with your talent! Gail great video skills Thank you. Best art site on RUclips! You both make a EXCELLENT TEAM. I may have to get this one for my anniversary for my wife. 🙏🏼👏🏻
