Very nice. I think one of the advantages, say, of the Getty middle bind, is that not going into a *deep* middle bind leaves the hand free for additional actions. There's an old school savate-like action, for instance, that assumes a follow-up punch or stab, and you could use your right to feed their #2 *into* your left hand, thus leaving their limbs bound up to your one arm. Very useful if you're having to "bowl for cretins" out on the street where jerks have friends. But if we assume that you're going to go deep on both controls, I really like your adaptation. Thanks, gents!

The most important thing is not to make yourself a martial clone, especially when it comes to trying to imitate the images.
What i learned from looking at a few manuscripts through out history is that treatises before 16th century dont have great pictures, sometime the anatomy is just wrong in so many level. It's always better to read the text carefully and try your best to make it work through trial and error instead of just copying the images every details and leave it there

Nice. I've had some difficulty making this action work for me. I think this is a better method than how I've been training it.

I agree 100% I go for it the same way. In deeper elbow to elbow does work, but doesn't seem as successful to me, it doesn't break the opponent's structure as easily.
