Good morning, and Happy Father's Day to anyone that that applies to! Please see the description for time stamps if you need them, and also for some important information! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! 😊
Overall this is a great video and very informative. Just a couple things that need to be adressed. Crested and Gargoyle geckos need to not have high humidity all the time. They need a high point each day when you spray them and a low point as the enclosure dries out before the next day's spraying. If they are kept at a high humidity all the time they will have issues with scale rot, fungus, and respiratory infections. Also, they do fine with temperatures as low as 70 and should not be exposed to temps close to 80 all the time. In the wild, they will hide to avoid extremes. In captivity, they do not have anywhere to go if the overall ambient temp is too warm. Neither species need to have insects at all if they are fed a flavor of MRP with insects included. This gives them the protein they need without the hassle of bugs. Do not feed mealworms, the chiton can cause impaction. Please keep up the good work. I really enjoy the production values that you have as well as the overall quality of your information and the obvious care that you have for your animals. Your presentation is very personable and inviting as oposed to some who are either very dry or so cutesy and overexcited to the point of being overwhelming. Source: I am a breeder who has had thousands of cresties and hundreds of gargoyles. Caring for these two species is my full time job. When not caring for them directly, I am researching them to find out new information.
When and how often should I be spraying? 2 times a day, one in the morning and one at night? Or just once in the morning and let it dry out til the next morning? Thank you for the comment by the way!!
You are always awesome, fantastic content, great personality, important info, just pure amazing all around! Love your work! Happy Fathers day to your hubby! Hope he has an awesome day as well.
You deserve more subscribers. You're extremely fun to watch and have great information. I'm watching this and I don't even have plans of getting geckos just because I love your videos
Nice! I used to have a leopard gecko, might look into getting a crested - we get a lot of common wall geckos that come into our house during the summer, so it would be nice for our 5-year-old to have a tame one to interact with
These are the geckos I prefer based on each of your parameters: Appearance: Gargoyle Gecko Price/Availability: Crested Gecko General Care: Either without taking regeneration into account, Gargoyle Gecko with regeneration taken into account Temperament: Either Diet: Either, although as a person prepared for an omnivorous reptile, the Gargoyle Gecko might be slightly easier and/or more entertaining
I switched cages as they grew, just so they didn't get overwhelmed by a large tank as tiny little babies. If you do opt to give them an adult sized tank, it's important that it's packed full of greenery and hiding spaces so they have plenty of opportunities to feel safe. 😊
gargoyle geckos can be kept together. the size of the tank is what matters, i have a male with 3 females in a 40 gallon exo terra. each gecko has a hiding spot to go too incase something pops off lol. but yea they have full tails.only violence i see is when breeding but thats normal.
Prepared diets are better because they ensure that your animal gets all their vitamins and minerals in proper proportions, not just calcium and D3. (I know this response is pretty late but if anyone else was scrolling through and wondering this then that is the answer.)
I'm pretty sad. I lost my dear Leopard Gecko a week before I started this job (back in May) and I'm about to lose my Bearded Dragon. She's not eating often, not using the bathroom but like, once every few weeks, and barely drinking anything. We're scared she's got whatever he had and on her way into our backyard... I've had a Crested Gecko that I had to return because I felt in-experienced and he escaped a lot during cleanings and was too flighty for me. I had a Veiled Chameleon who passed away 4 months after I got him. He kept falling in his terrarium and we think he hit his head on the way down the last time. I'm not sure if any of it is my fault or if I just am not someone meant to live happy lives with reptiles...
I love my crested gecko cupcake her color seems to stay the same all the time, wonder if anybody has one that does this also? Happy Fathers day to all out there. God Bless
@@ellesreptiles do not know her morph. Wish I did. She is creamy color and tan spots and some black spots. Would send picture but not sure how on this site.
That so funny it the total opposite for my geckos my crescent gecko will actually come to the window jump on me and hang out with me my gargoyle gecko is such a fraidy-cat I never see him eat bugs My Crescent gecko will always eat bugs bugs

Gotta ask: what’s the difference between Male & Female Gargoyle Geckos? As far as temperament wise
Happy fathers fay and i luv your vids
Thank you from me and my husband 😊
Thank you so much! This video was so helpful! I have been really looking into crested geckos and was wondering what their differences are.

Hi Does reptile shows have Red Eyed Crocodile Skinks?
What helped me was crested geckos don’t grow their tails back and gargoyles do, so i ended up buying a gargoyle hatchling 👍🏽
These are the geckos I prefer based on each of your parameters:
Appearance: Gargoyle Gecko
Price/Availability: Crested Gecko
General Care: Either without taking regeneration into account, Gargoyle Gecko with regeneration taken into account
Temperament: Either
Diet: Either, although as a person prepared for an omnivorous reptile, the Gargoyle Gecko might be slightly easier and/or more entertaining
I'm torn. I'll eventually gave both but idk which to get first. They're both sooo awesome! 🦎
Should you switch the cages as they grow or just get a adult size and let them live in the same setup as they grow up?
I switched cages as they grew, just so they didn't get overwhelmed by a large tank as tiny little babies. If you do opt to give them an adult sized tank, it's important that it's packed full of greenery and hiding spaces so they have plenty of opportunities to feel safe. 😊
other day i saw baby Crested Geckos at reptile shop it was so tiny n awwww

I have a crested gecko but I'm really thinking about getting a gargoyle gecko
Just remember good ol cresty after you do.
What do you think about Leachy’s??
Oh I love them! They're so big and so cute 😍
Can u do signs of dehydration bearded dragon
if it wasn't for the tv show scaled i wouldn't know anything about Crested Geckos that show was so cool
Can you also give them a mushed fruit diet with calcium and D3 instead of powderd food mixes thanks for the help

The beardie needs a vet ASAP! Please take her, as they can save her! 💕

That's really cool 😊 what morph/color is she?
