Or touch bare handed. I have a big issue with the design of the door being flat, requiring several cycles to empty and agiitate the dust into the air. With something like this, it would be far better to be belt driven directly onto the drum, and have the dump door on the end, that could be tipped directly into a bag and graders, in a much more sealed and controlled process. It also wouldn't have required nearly as much fabrication work.

    There are a some mistakes.
Ribs inside: as you can see, balls ctick on ribs, and can make a sparks when falling down. They should roll.
Doors: have a blind pockets, you cant clean out all your grinded material. Before grinding other kind of material, you should hard work for cleaning.
But looks nice, same as original ball mills!
(Have experience with ball milss from 1liter up to 3 cubic meters.)

I thought of two applications for this to justify wanting to make one myself: cleaning off brass cases for reloading ammunition (shooting on a range with friends = lots of ammo to clean and reload, though I would need a much finer medium for brass casings) and for grinding down steel steel chips from the lathe/mill to make casting ingots easier. Fine powder means less heat needed, which makes ingot-making that much faster.

I recall using walnut shell with a bit of red rouge in the one I made. I started with a small black rubber/plastic tub, but then went to a six-sided plywood container that held several times as much. Was processing more cases for the Dillon press, then.

What an oddly specific machine to make. I can only wonder what kind of crazy stuff you have planned for this.

the finer the material the less abrasive it is when used in a sand blaster.

Andrej Terentiev: casting parts. Mix high ratio of metal powder to epoxy and cast or repair. Highly wear resistant (low temp tho less than 100c).
