    I have all of that ulanzi gear , and have it the same way you set up. Now I'm getting this new tripod with the code you have. Also, can you please tell them to put some sort of measuring units on the tripod legs so that we can easily get all of the legs to the same length without trial and error. That'll save a lot of time without almost any additional manufacturing cost. These quick releases and tripods from ulanzi are making the 1 man band super possible

    How do you think this fluid head compares to the separate fluid head on the f38?
    You should try a video comparison to see which one is more smooth. When you tilted this one it looked like it was catching.
    Love your videos by the way!
    I'd love to see this company create more affordable, high quality, and compact film tripods. Most high quality fluid heads are large and not built for mobile shoots.

    • @OdinOmland
      @OdinOmland Год назад +3

      I have both, and they are pretty close in comparison in my opinion. However, I think the new head is superior as it comes with the balance base built in. I've also got a quick-release on the Ulanzi mini fluid head when using the travel pod, but have found that the head comes loose from the f38 quick release plate. Could just be a tightening issue, but it's prone to happened when panning and perhaps not loosening the pan-tension screw. Also, find leveling the new balance base a bit easier to adjust than on the travel pod.

    I don’t understand why the cost of this new tripod is so much cheaper than the other one you have. And they support the same weigh. What is your take on this? Why? And as a professions Photograher and videographer, which one would you say is sturdier and more reliable in your option? Thanks

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      ulanzi says the full price of of the Zero f38 is $399, but the reality is that they usually sell it for $369 and sometimes as low as $299 with sales and discounts. The $259 of the new one is still cheaper though. my guess is that they struck a better deal with fotopro (instead of Coman, who makes the other) and there’s less engineering. the ball head of the Zero f38 and centre column are unique and look hard to manufacture. the Video one just has a standard fluid brand and regular centre column. The zero f38 also has more parts with all the foot switches. in terms of sturdiness, they both are performing well for me, but I would probably give the edge to the zero f38 by a hair. But I’ve got to say, I’m taking out the video tripod more and more these days. I’ll see as time goes by how it holds up.

      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for the response. Hmm. So I am professional videographer and photographer- I shoot a lot of events, corporate conferences, and interviews. I have a very expensive Really Right Stuff tripod, but it has twisty legs. I HATE it. it takes forever to get set up, change hight, and break down.
      I need something that works efficiently, but without compromising stability or assurance that the legs are locked in place. I also would prefer a fluid head- as I do more video work. Which one do you think would be best for my needs?
      I'd also be willing to purchase a fluid head separately if need be, and attach it to either of these. Thanks!

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      from what you're saying - I would stick to the Zero F38 and get a fluid head. You get those nice foot switch locks which allows you to visually see if they are closed or not. They can adjust very fast and it feels solid (as solid as a lightweight travel tripod can feel, in my opinion). The F38 Video tripod is great, but you still need to use a twisting action to make adjustments, and there's no indication if you tightened everything or not.

    I've been using this for a few months now, and while it's alright, I don't think it's worth the hype. The weird thing at the bottom of the center column keeps falling out. The ballhead fits literally NO FREAKING PLATES other than a few very select ones. And the rotating thing on the plate thing doesn't lock anymore. for the f38 with ball head... couple issues. first, the lever to release the pivot is extremely tight, takes a ton of force. and then it doesn't move around smoothly at all... did you have to clean yours or add lubricant to it or something?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      the original one you mean? the lever will loosen up a little with use - it’s not a fluid head, so it’s meant to help you reposition, but it’s not for smooth video work. the panning function will be smooth though. if you think there is a defect you would contact ulanzi. • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis

      It’s not quite the same - no. It does not have a quick release plate. And on its own it doesn’t have a roll balance. What I did with it was attach the bottom of the fluid head to a quick release plate and then attached another f38 baseplate to the top of the fluid head. That way I can just use the fluid head on top of the zero f38 tripod without removing the centre column. Then I can use the roll of the Zero F38 head and it’s all quick on and off. @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for your response. You're the one that got me buying a ZV-E10 with a Smallrig cage. Just wish there was a Ulanzi F38 cage for the ZV-E10

    Hi Mark, how is this any different to X-Aircross 3 Lite video?

    • @MarkBennettCameraCrisis
      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      Because of the quick release ball head. The F38 system is a whole quick release system.

      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis gotcha. Ulanzi got Fotopro to make the tripod and Falcam to make the quick release system. Bam, group project winner 🏆

    The tripod looks great however I would imagine the company is in China with no offices or repair facilities in the US or Canada? Please correct me if I am wrong. So am leery about buying something this expensive from a company in China and getting the support we all might need. A lot of times you never hear from companies in China and they wont back up their products?

      Ulanzi is good with responding - and they usually replace any tripods with a problem. For me - this tripod is now $171 with all the Black Friday sales - and I've used my two for a year with zero issues. So it's worth it to me - but if you are looking for the best customer service - Peak design is the way to go.

      I put my A7iv with the Sigma 150-600 on it, yes. it’s not my first choice for a setup that big, but it gets the job done for sure

    Can we put it vertical for portrait ?

      @MarkBennettCameraCrisis  Год назад +1

      the regular f38 tripod you can, but the video one (with fluid head) you cannot

      @whatthefitt Год назад

      @@MarkBennettCameraCrisis How do we do portrait with this fluid head? Attach the camera to a cage and then another f38 plate to the side of the cage? So one f38 plate at the bottom for horizontal and one f38 plate at the side for vertical.

    Don't buy these commercials masquerading as reviews. This tripod is crappy! I have only used this tripod very lightly and about two months, the so called "quick release" got stuck and would not even move!!! Just a stupid waste of money

      It’s likely wedged in a little or the lock is on. I have three of these tripods I’ve used daily for a year and they’re still great. Packing one in my luggage for a trip for tomorrow. I don’t do commercials. I don’t get paid for reviews and I review a lot of tripods on my channel. This one is the best. I’m sure you’ll unstick the quick release. If not - contact Ulanzi - they will help you out.
