I’m impressed by this perfection. I love nature and its wonders but I’m also astonished buy what has been accomplished here. I surfed for over 50 years and can only remember when nature gives this kind of perfection only once a year, maybe. Surfs-up everyday!!!

Huge San Francisco outer sandbar in the shipping lanes to puny Waikiki to macking Alamo. (Ala Moana) witnessing the invention of the short board, invention of the modern wetsuit at O’Neill and invention of the leash in Santa Cruz, Alejandro, Surfing is a direct and emotional quest to seek beauty, God and a relationship with nature that others will never experience. Watch just the reflection when he is in the barrel... mesmerising! I don’t think I have ever seen a wave barrel over such a glassy section in nature for so long. I’m guessing this was the first wave of the day for the water to sit so still.

I managed a huge pool and the cost were enormous. Elec, chems,water,labor,taxes and maintaining it. This adds complex moving machinery and lots of water = problems. In a tourist area running 18 hr days, 7 days a week maybe. As a novelty, bucket list check off not sure it can break even but I sure hope so.
JIMJAMSC if you position it next to to a salt water supply like some cable ski parks you dont need most of that

can the not add a second scoop on the back to jack up that little wave running behind the main one ??
Would add a lot of load so either you'd run 2 scoops more slowly with same horsepower (smaller, weaker waves) or you'd have to beef up HP a lot. Then if you beefed up HP you could remove second scoop and get a bigger, better first wave . . . Slater's priority is to make the absolutely best (single) wave he can, and run it multiple times.
How boring is the WSL contest going to be! Hint, this not pipeline.

Also, it's one wave at a time made by a train! How long is the queue gonna be and what is it going to cost. The ocean is still just wining this one! I guess when there's 10,000 of these, they run on free energy, and produce multiple waves then it could be cool. For now it's a novelty, but good effort Kelly.
