It sounds great. Can someone explain how he makes that sound where the crosses are and what are those straight lines for example on the third column of numbers where there are cross, cross, straight line and cross. What does it mean???
Thank you! Visualizing the ukulele fretboard is key. If you know which notes are on each fret, you can hold the same chord in various shapes. Once you can do that, practice your technique and apply it to the instrument. For more details, check out my ukulele fingerstyle course.
Try practicing by repeating the parts you find difficult, gradually increasing the number of measures as you improve. Eventually, move from measures to full sections, and from sections to playing the entire piece. Once you can play the whole piece, then start increasing the speed. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts, but you will definitely see progress with consistent practice. I also struggled with playing even a single chord at first. Keep it up and stay motivated!
To apply the thumb percussive technique to the ukulele, use the side of your thumb to strike the strings, focusing on the G string for the bass effect, similar to a snare drum. This method is especially effective on the 2nd and 4th beats to enrich the rhythm. Ensure the motion is fluid and blends with your overall strumming, aiming for a natural feel. This technique brings a rhythmic depth to your ukulele playing, making it more lively and engaging.
