Ovit Plateau is located 52 kilometers from Rize city center. It is a Black Sea plateau with a unique beauty with an altitude of 2400 meters, 36 kilometers from İkizdere in the İkizdere district of Rize. It is located on the İkizdere-İspir road. There are approximately 40-50 houses in Ovit Plateau. You park your vehicle on the side of the road and start walking towards the summit in cold weather.
When you reach the summit, you reach Ovit lake with its ice-cold waters. Ovit Plateau, which has fewer houses than other highlands, hosts hundreds of local and foreign tourists throughout the year. The best time to visit is June, July, August. In summer, it is possible to see winter snow on the slopes of the mountain. The average temperature of July and August is 5 - 10 degrees.
If you go to Ovit Plateau in August, you may encounter various festivals.
There are excellent places to stay where you can set up your tent and enjoy it.
It is an environment where you can spend your day perfectly with its icy air, clean waters, colorful flowers, cattle and small cattle that wander around you and graze.
