- Ever been terrified during a storm? At sea! Join us as our beautiful, calm passage from New Zealand to TONGA, becomes scary. The much anticipated storm front hits us with a vengeance, and it is all we can do to drop down to bare poles, and hang on as 47 knot winds hit us...... and then the lightning starts! Thankfully, the following day was blue skies and sunshine and the rest of the passage, and the checking into The Kingdom of Tonga goes smoothly.
Happy for you both!
Thanks
Very interesting to see how you manage a sailboat in bad weather. I could never do that, even though my husband & I have been boating (not sail) all our married life 53 years now & still going strong. We always stay down around the Gold Coast, where we don’t get bad weather much. So congratulations & you deserve that Champagne. Wishing all the best for the rest of your trip, Elaine. From Brisbane.
Thanks Elaine, we wouldn’t choose to do it either. Bad weather, like shit just happens 😂😂
That lightning storm was intense. 🌩️⚡️🌩️
You certainly earned that champagne! 🍾
Yes indeed!
Thanks bro💯💪
No problem 👍
Think I would have had that drink in the lighting don’t know about waiting. 😮
That is excellent advice. We should have!
Yep that’s the sound of 380 having fun 😂
The 380 might have been having fun but it’s humans were not
I was terrified just watching! The clear skies and calm blue sea on the following day must have felt a bit surreal. LukimYu is an amazing yacht.
It’s was unreal how quick it cleared up
