Fever Tree is the only option for me. Unfortunately, most of our tonics in the US are chock-full of corn syrup... the main reason I like FT is that they don't use it. I always thought tonic was trash until I tried FT.

Hated Tonic all my life. Drank Gin straight or with soda. Then I found Fever Tree! Change my whole Gin drinking life. Great video! really enjoy your videos
You're lucky to find this tonic easely in every tesco in England ^^ Here in France, we have to find big groceries in the main cities, and even in these markets, they only have fever tree ginger ale / beer and regular tonic, no meditaranee, lemon etc. Sorry for my english btw haha
Mat 4869 I’m surprised that they h ent made it to France yet? I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Your English is excellent as always Mat! très bon! 😊👍
7:50 I have the blue one in front of me, and it does say "refreshingly light" and is lighter in sugar compared to the gold label...but, it does have real sugar. the ingredients say fructose, which is real sugar. the nutrition label even says 14g of sugar per bottle. I haven't tried Schweppes in awhile but as I recall this is definitely better than Schweppes lol
The Lidl 4 x 200ml glass bottle tonic water is very good, I'm in a minority but don't think fever tree are number 1 either. Keep up the good work young man, great reviews.
My wife got this tonic for me from our local Atlanta area Lidl (we suddenly have five, still far away but the sixth one is opening near us soon!) for me the other day. I thought it was super nice and pleasantly bitter and very similar to Fever Tree. Made in France and probably half the cost. Also made with sugar unlike fructose and corn syrup that everyone else is putting (including Schweppes in the US.)
I do a vodka Country Time lemonade then did a 2/3 lemonade and a 1/3 pink. I need to find a quinine powder to add in my mix. I like the vodka, water and a powder mix of the sweet lemonade with a little adult mixed in, of course add ice, for this summer. Maybe I should try the Juniper Gin. It is highly flammable bush in its own right. Thanks for the video.
I'm with Steve The Barman on this one. Fever tree is rough with too much quinine that dominates good gin rather than complementing it. Stick with middle of the road slightly sweeter tonics that make a much better balanced GNT. Hard to beat good old Schweppes.
Steve Lewis couldn’t agree more, the quinine is just too much for me. Schweppes (especially slimline) is always my favourite. Twelve below is worth a try too.
Here in the US, I can always find Schweppes Tonic Water and have never seen or even heard of Fever Tree. Since I normally drink my Beefeaters straight with a twist of lime or with orange juice, I haven't really looked for tonic water outside of supermarkets and am happy with what I can find.
Here in Cornwall we drink a lot of gin mixed with cider. Especially pink gin and a good dry apple cider with a squeeze of lemon or simple syrup and lots of ice . We also have “ normal straight gin” with a fruit cider. Give it a try.
Having an Aviation Gin and Elderflower tonic right now (Fever Tree, of course). A slice of lime and it's, I guess the English would say, "absolutely brilliant!" haha. The Mediterranean and Elderflower and definitely my two "go to" tonics if I can find them and want to spend the extra $$. Never cared for their Indian tonic though. Side note, I've heard it pronounced and pronounce it myself as "q-why-nine". Then again I know pronunciation is vastly different with things on the other side of the Pond over there.
What's best Mediterranean or Elderflower? I really dislike the bitter taste you get but I like the refreshingness of a Gin I feel like a Need a Drink after a Gin, Imo Liquids should not taste bitter or dry as you're drinking to feel refreshed it's a bit like if wearing a coat what makes you colder
I just had my first G&T with Fever Tree and it was great. FT was not easy to find and I could only get one bottle. Schwepps is good but Fever Tree is a lot better.
Thanks Angry Camper ! Since making this video, Fever Tree have actually been in touch to say that they actually use fructose in their light tonics rather than sweeteners. 👍😊
I just started drinking gin a couple months ago and it’s changed my whole life. Actually found an alcohol that I actually enjoy drinking. Not just to get drunk. Glad I found you because I’ve discovered there’s a Fever-Tree for every gin. I didn’t like gunpowder gin until I tried it with the elderflower. Probably cuz the heavy herbal and floral notes. Tried Beefeater with the ginger ale today and was blown away. Wondering if you’ve tried the ginger beer and what you thought?
I bought some Fever Tree premium today. Very good as you would expect for £2 a small bottle. I worked out. it costs as much per drink as the Plymouth Gin I bought!
Just found this review. Fever Tree has made it impossible for me to drink G&T in a bar. That awful tonic that comes out of the gun tastes like old dishwater. I prefer the Elderflower Tonic while my wife prefers the Mediterranean Tonic. Keep up the great work!
I only like the red one , but its extremely over priced here in europe , i have to pay double price of a regular bottle cus its imported , but what is the health benefits by drinking ?
It's probably my favourite tonic water. Admittedly, it's a premium product and the price does reflect that - but you pay for the quality of it. Scweppes isn't bad, but it isn't up to Fever Tree's level and also doesn't have quite range of varieties available. I have wondered what Fentiman's are like?
tried the Elderflower tonic - nice taste of Elderflower but I wonder if you lose the taste of a good gin and just taste elderflower? I suspect if you have a decent gin in the glass stick to the basic Fever Tree.
Beside the admiration for these guys who take their time in making something very well crafted, I'd like to see something with gin and real fruit juice and real ingredients.
9:05 $2.xx for a bottle is still super cheap if you compare it to the bar. a bottle should be 3 or 4 drinks. still an awesome deal! as I mentioned in another video, I found brokers at a local store for $17 for the 1L bottle. so overall I'm rolling in cheap super high quality gin and tonics!
I'll definitely have to give the Mediterranean and Elderflower tonics a try! I'm not a huge fan of that quinine taste. What's your opinion of just using soda/seltzer water instead of tonic? Not sure if that's a sin in the gin community, but I find you really get to taste the individual flavors of the gin quite well!
Hey Barry, Personally I’m not a fan but I know some people do like it. My advice would be to poor it quite strong as the sod water is such a neutral taste. Look out for my ‘Gin For Gin Haters’ video coming next week where I talk suggest different mixers 😊👍

Picked up the Indian, Mediterranean and the elder-flower tonight, Really liked the Mediterranean but found the gin can overpower fast if you don't make the gin a tonic right. I used Beefeater and thought it didn't work with the elderflower at all. any recommendations on what gin might go better with it?
I've always used the cheapest bottle of tonic, whatever was the store brand for around 75 cents to a dollar, but I picked up my first bottle of Fever Tree to try. However, I'm curious if I'll even notice a difference, as I definitely don't have a sophisticated palate. I didn't notice any difference at all between Tanqueray 10 and regular Tanq, except T10 is a lot more expensive. I don't pick up on subtle differences, so it all tastes pretty much the same to me. The benefit of course, I can save money with cheaper gin; but I am looking to try out some other (reasonably priced) gins.
I drink Schweppes usually and you make me wanna buy some fever tree. where can I get cheap fever tree? Amazon ? I can't find any in local supermarket. Also I wanna suggest a gin called komasa gin. It has a subtle and delicate fragrance of citrus. You should like it. Keep it up :)
