i just love your storys,, its amazing to me that you can remember these storys with such detail.. your passion for the history is clear, and i apreciate that,,,every morning i cant wait to see where u are taking us next,,, thanks jordan!!!
Bird of Paradise flower reminds me of a weird bird too! I thought that the first time I saw one. Thank you for this great vlog. Very interesting. A lot of history in that embankment area.
Great way to start my morning! Jordan, Jah and some cool history I didn't know the carousel was used in so many things. I am always learning something new through your vlogs!
Really enjoyed learning about the history and the movies and shows that featured this special carousel over the years. The inspiration it gave Walt Disney and gave people a first look at James Dean. Bob Gere is a Disney treasure. Hope he is well. Thank you doing this vlog
That Merry Go Round is amazing, who doesn't love a merry go round, so pleased it inspired Walt, to build Disney Land, loved the movie Twins, thankyou Jordan loved hearing the stories and seeing Bob very nice gentleman x
I remember going there when I was a kid. Of course I never knew about the history back then but I found out watching Jordan's vlog. Enjoyed this one just as much. Stay safe.
Amazing Vlog Jordan. I love merry go rounds so much details in them. The plant was bird of paradise. If I ever get to California again I need to go to this park the top of the merry go round reminds me of the brown derby hat.. I never knew James Dean started out that young.
When I was a kid my cousin and I went to stay with our grandparents in los alamos, one Saturday there was an ad in the paper stating Arnold S. and Danny D . would be in town filming at the hospital, so we road bikes there and saw both getting into a mini van, Arnie waved!
The plants you admire near the beginning of your video which you say resemble birds are called ‘Birds of Paradise’. Nice info on James Dean and his relationship with that historic merry-go-round. I’ve seen that Pepsi commercial. He’s just starting out on his brief but memorable career.
I enjoyed this vlog so much! I loved all of the crossovers. What a great job putting the old footage with the new. And seeing Bob again made me smile. 🥰
Again Jordan for this vlog bringing us to this lovely park and giving us the history of movies that were made there and the Disney beginning I love Bob what a nice man thanks Jordan for bringing us out today I am sure in these times a lot of Lionheart's who are indoors seeing the park will give us hope to be out there again Lots of Love Jordan and Amy and kisses to Jah keep safe and all Lionheart's look after yourself and all the people of the USA Sending Prayers and Good Wishes Marie Dublin Ireland
I loved this video. Thank you for getting out since most of us cant. It sure gives me something to watch as Im stuck at home! Be safe and stay Healthy!🐕🐕🐕💜👍🏼🙏🏼👏🏼
At the start of the video where you said, "I always liked these flowers, they look like a wierd bird to me". You are right, the flower's real name is, Bird of Paradice.
Thank you Jordan for all your hard work. I enjoy waking up to your videos and in the evenings while I'm doing my puzzling I watch your older videos. Thank you friend ☺️
What an interesting vlog!! Wow Jordan, such unique and historical content on the significance of this treasure. Watching the guests on the Merry go 'round gave Walt the spark to create Disney amusement parks. Simply awesome Jordan. Thanks again sir!
Loved this and the previous vlog you did on Bob Gere! (He was awesome!!!) Never knew about the James Dean connection to the carousel and his TV commercials. You presented this beautifully, Jordan. Thanks for your positive energy and enthusiasm!!!
Hi Jordan, that flower does look like a bird, strangely enough!! I always like seeing the Hollywood sign and Griffith Park. Very interesting to hear that about Walt Disney and nice to know the family have the actual bench in their Museum. So many things attached to one Merry-Go-Round, the Merry-Go-Round is history in itself. Nice seeing the Jahster. Great vlog Jordan.
I loved watching Bob ride on that merry-go-round! He was so adorable! I just watched Twins the other day; that's one of my favorite parts of the movie. Watching you ride on there you looked like you were having a blast. Can't wait until we can all start getting out and having fun again!!
"Like a little jingle bell walking" Hahaha. Those flowers do remind of a bird. Looking forward to the story on Griffith. Great tie in's to the first story, whoa. I like the movie Twins. The carousel is beautiful! Thank you Jordan
Jordan you knocked it outta the park again! Great vlog! A fun fact for you Sharon Disney donated money to Sugar Bowl ski resort ( a good 8 hrs north by Donner Lake) and had a cabin there and that's why a ski run was named Mt. Disney, I worked there in the 80s for 2 season and us workers used to go and keep ski guests away from her cabin because it had Disney characters plywood cutouts adorned on the cabin
As always Jordan, your vlogs are full of incredible facts with amazing footage. I'm from Sydney, Australia 👋🇦🇺 and a MASSIVE fan of all things Hollywood 💫. I thought the US was in self-isolation lockdown 🤔 Oh and those bird looking flowers are 'Birds of Paradise'
What a wonderful vlog. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much. Eight thousand people have watched this... there should be eight thousand likes... I cant believe people are so lazy as to not even bother to give a video a thumbs up !!!.
We first got to visit LA 2 years ago, the Griffith Park Carousel was the first place I wanted to see because of Walt Disney’s connection. Also went to the observatory!
Great video. I remember seeing those flowers everywhere when I visited L.A. a couple of years ago. No one could tell me the name of them. I even googled "bird" flowers L.A. & still got no results. Eventually I was watching something on tv & they called them the "Bird of Paradise" flower. There you go, I guess.
Hi Jordan great jammed packed vlog a lot of research involved and of course well done . I remember that Bob Gurr vlog still going strong I hope ! The James Dean story was amazing! TY
"It is a small world after all" :) Great vlog Jordan. Those things make us all like kids again when we go on them. Thanks for the history lesson and tour!
Oooh, I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ James Dean!!! I recently finished re-reading "Surviving James Dean" By William "Bill" Bast; I wrote a letter to Bill Bast back in 2009 and he actually wrote back to me!!! I was flabbergasted that Bill wrote to me and the letter came on my birthday; I believe James Dean's agent's name was Isabel Draesmer.......
That flower that looks like a bird is actually called Bird of Paradise flower. Amazing video! I am a huge Disney fan and it is so cool to see where Walt got his original idea for Disney! It’s also cool how many other things were filmed at that particular carousel. I’ve seen those movies (years ago) however, I wouldn’t have connected that myself. So thanks so much for doing these vlogs because it’s a really cool to connect all of those different things to one place. (in this case the carousel.) thanks again Jordan for giving me something to look forward to watching when I wake up in the morning! Now I need to go watch the video with Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr!! 😎 ✨💫🌟
Very cool James Dean info. It was used on CSI NY as well (the carousel). I believe the Shane's Inspiration park has been used in a couple tv shows as well.
I am so sick of this whole COVID 19 crap. Thankfully, because of your awesome travel vlogs, I'm able to get out a bit! In my mind that is. Great vlog as I have been on that Merry -Go _round so many times as a kid. Fond, fond memories! Thank you, Jordan!!!
I love your vids!!! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. I know I’ve seen that basketball court, or one like it in a movie as well, I just can’t remember what movie or show. The different basketball backboards were the giveaway. Lol. Stay safe!!!
That carousel in those green hills is so delightful looking! Maybe it's mentioned in another comment, but, was Walt inspired by this park & carousel in the style/design of the supercalifragilistic "sidewalk chalk" scene, in Mary Poppins? That's one of my fave scenes & this immediately reminded me of it : ) Thanks for another cool, fun-fact filled upload Jordan & Jah! Also, I would really like to hear more about that Griffith fella~ Keep safe, everyone!
My sister used lived across the street from Griffith Park she is a set designer we used to hear concerts and yelling and screaming was a horrible place to live across the street from there but it was fun also😂
Thank you Jordan for sharing that part of history I think that is so awesome. I hope someday you make it up here to Spokane Washington after the virus thing is lifted we have historic places that were filmed here that would be great if you come and check it out anyway you and the jahster stay safe and god bless you both.
Jordan the Lion, the very best on Hollywood history!!!
Those flowers are called Birds of paradise, good call.
I live a few miles from Fairmount and the amount of people who visit to pay homage to James Dean is pretty crazy.
What a fascinating story with tie-ins to the movies, Walt Disney AND James Dean!
I remember my father taking me to that merry go round when I was about five in the 60s.

Nice vlog Jordan! Cool that the merry go round has been there all this time. Interesting it is also a filming location. Lol
When I was a kid my cousin and I went to stay with our grandparents in los alamos, one Saturday there was an ad in the paper stating Arnold S. and Danny D . would be in town filming at the hospital, so we road bikes there and saw both getting into a mini van, Arnie waved!
Sad to see the parks and paths all closed up and taped off. I pray this doesn't last for much longer. Stay safe Jordan and Jah.
The plants you admire near the beginning of your video which you say resemble birds are called ‘Birds of Paradise’. Nice info on James Dean and his relationship with that historic merry-go-round. I’ve seen that Pepsi commercial. He’s just starting out on his brief but memorable career.
