For someone that isn’t a full time plumber, that’s a really good set up mate. 👍

Thanks mate. Having the right tools for the job makes things so much easier. If I was to ever pick a specific trade to get in to, I would pick plumbing as I genuinly enjoy it.

Great video. Very well thought out. Obviously this is not your primary tool box / tool bag, as your flux, solder and blow lamp are not present. I've been plumbing for 30 years and you have given me lots of food for thought. There is no such thing as "The Perfect Tool Box" 🤔 even just for working in domestic residential environments. We generally always need another tool that is often n another tool box or tool bag. If we carried everything we might possibly need to complete every job it would weigh a tonne 🤔💛💜💛

Thanks very much 👍 You are right, this is one of many tool bags and boxes that I use. For my torch and most plumbing consumables I have a small tote, the vid can be found here if you are interested; ruclips.net/video/gGpwyzvj3DQ/видео.htmlsi=XKAsYI1M47J099ht
My general building box is the closest you could find to a catchall tool kit, but like you said, it's impossible to plan for everything without the it being way too heavy.

In UK everything is called a Spanner? I’d like to come visit and work with you folks for a season.

I stopped using tool boxes like that. Too much time spent digging around trying to find a tool or fitting. Things get beat up and more and get grungy. I switched to open totes. Easier to see what's there and keep organized. Separate storage for fittings might help. Does seem like some redundancy in your tool box, like with all of the spanners and screwdrivers.

    • @ToolReviewsofToolsIUse

Thanks very much for the comment. You are definitely right on both counts. I love these stanley boxes, but they are not great for plumbing. Any suggestions welcome.
I think a lot of tools have slowly creeped in over time, and I need to lighten the load a bit. I'll do a review in a year or so with some changes. Thanks for watching.

@@ToolReviewsofToolsIUse Note sure what brands that you have available there. I switched from a simple bag to a tote for my plumbing tools. I first tried a Husky tote and a Milwaukee tote, but then ended up with a Toughbuilt tote to get the tools to fit well. It does help to occasionally weed out tools that are redundant or don't get used enough. I now have 3 main bags. One is for general tools, one for plumbing and one for electrical. The general bag goes with me for most any project, but I do try to make it so that for smaller plumbing or electrical projects that I can just grab the one specialized bag.

@@gpraceman we can get Milwaukee and tough built over here, but I've never been able to find Husky. I'll check those out thanks. It'll be great to do a review on a new tote. You can see the other setups I have if you look at my other vids, i do have a dewalt tote, but i use it for landscaping now. Thanks for the input.

@@ToolReviewsofToolsIUse Husky is mainly a house brand for Home Depot here. I've been happy with my Toughbuilt bags so far. Can't see paying 4 times the price to get Veto bags.

I use the Milwaukee Packout system and find it great. I have 2 of the 40cm (15 inch) Totes and 1 of the 50cm (20 inch) Totes. In 1 of the smaller Tote I carry most of my hand tools. In the other smaller Tote I carry my plumbing tools. In the larger tote I carry my larger plumbing tools. I also have added a Toughbuilt Pouch to each of the smaller Milwaukee Totes. 💛💜💛

Interest video! I think tool boxes or bags are very personal items...A tool box like that would drive me potty due to the lack of organisation. I am not a tradesman, just somebody who does a bit of DIY for myself and family members. I use a big cantilever tool box for my heavy or less frequently used plumbing tools. I also have my gas torch and other related stuff in a dedicated tool box. For my frequently used plumbing tools I use a cheap tote from Amazon although this now needs replacing. I try to be ruthless with what I carry ie I only cater to work on 15mm copper or plastic waste pipe. I have stuff for 22mm and larger but rarely use it so leave it in cantilever box...It's the same with the larger spanners and grips ect..
I do carry some basic electric testers, although I have my proper electrical tools in another bag...I am not sure this approach would suit you, but it works for me and the limited plumbing I actually do.
Those little Bacho socket sets are brilliant, but I would add a 150mm extension bar (it will store inside that box) and a large 300mm extension bar. Finally, I don't recall you mentioning an olive puller or splitter? I am sure you must have something and I probably just missed it...
I have a cheapy plastic version of the Unilight from Home Bargains (don't laugh!) and it works surprisingly well . That said, its a bit flimsy and doesn't really look like it will last, so i will definately look out for one of those Unilights...

You're absolutly right, toolboxes are such a personal thing. Mine have changed so much over the years. Ive never been happy with the organization of this box though so i will be buying a tote very soon, and i think ill be taking out some stuff too to help lighten the load and make things easier to find. I can't wait to do a vid on it when I do.
I've been meaning to buy an olive puller for a long time, but never got round to it, and I'll look in to getting an extention bar, that's a good shout.
You won't be dissapointed with the unilight, it's worth every penny. With that said, I've got plenty of cheapo torches that are great workhorses.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment👍

@@ToolReviewsofToolsIUse I bought the Toughbuilt 16" tote today and transfer my plumbing tools over...it was £75, so not cheap, but considerably cheaper than similar.
Velocity or Veto. The build quality of the Toughbuilt is excellent and I can't imagine Veto or Velocity being that much better...
Design wise however, I don't think it will be for everyone. Internally, it has two full depth fixed dividers going across the box, dividing it into equal thirds. Each divider has pockets on either side as do the each panels of the box. You can organise and store a huge amount of tools like adjustables or pipe grips, but it doesn't really accommodate long tools like extra long screw drivers or full size hacksaws. That said, I think it would be relatively easy to rig some straps externally with a little ingenuity. Speaking of straps, it has the fitments for a shoulder strap, but the shoulder strap itself is an extra..
All in all, I am very pleased with it...

@@peterevans8194 That toughbilt tote looks good. I'm definitely going to opt for a tote, just need to decide which one. Going to trim some of the tools out to streamline it a bit too. I'm very tempted by the velocity, but it's a big expense at about double the cost of the toughbilt. I'm still making my mind up.
