- Today I would like to show you my new fishing Kayak, the Native Watercraft Titan 10.5 Propel. This is a great kayak for fishing and a very comfortable kayak for a long day on the water. This video is a comprehensive walk through and on the water review.
I got this kayak from Stan’s Bait Shop in Milford, IA. Here is a link to their Facebook page / stansbaitandtackle . They have great customer service and can help assist you in picking the right kayak.

The best review on RUclips for this yak , tells you everything you need to know . thanks !
Thanks for the kind words man, glad I could help!
Midwest Bass Hunter I’m 6’ 200 lbs you think I’ll have any issues as far as the seating and rear storage space goes ?
I'm 6'0", 220 lbs. No issues
Midwest Bass Hunter thanks for gettin back to me so quick thinking that’s the yak I’m gonna go with ! Looking forward to more videos from you , fish on !
Midwest Bass Hunter is it still holding up to your needs ?
Very functional, beamy, stable design. I’d love to fish from a kayak. It provides you a very stable fishing platform and a hands free propulsion drive. I imagine you can get into some areas that even an aluminum bass boat would fear to tread. And your maintenance issues are virtually nonexistent as compared with a boat.
The weight of the kayak can be a good thing (it is built sturdy) or an issue but not as bad as Lewis and Clark who would portage, the carrying of boats or goods overland from one body of water to another or around an obstacle (such as a rapids). I have seen wheels on the aft end to limit your portage woes.
I was thinking, as a kayaker who uses a cellphone to take pictures onboard you might want to incorporate in a regular video a brief description of the cellphone harness you use to prevent you from losing it overboard. Very good walk through - Ron
👍
Love it...... That is my Dream, to have something like that....Thanks for a GREAT Video....
Thanks Sonny
That is a great looking kayak
Very comprehensive review! Thanks!
Thanks for watching
These are great! Great review!
Thanks
great video, thorough and to the point!
Thank you!
Cool video man, I really enjoyed it! I recently bought (2022 model) a Slayer MAX 10 in gray and LOVE IT! I was really torn between the MAX 10 and the TITAN but went for maximum portability.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks man, that Slayer will be a good platform for you. Thanks for watching!
Cool on the water review! I like it!
Thanks man
Love mine but hated the rudder system at first. Finally realized that the steering handle assembly is coming from the factory wrong. Both my Titan and my Slayer came with this assembly in the wrong position and I was changing cables every week on my busy lake.
If your handle is in line with the frame of the Yak when your rudder is centered, you will break a lot of cables on windy days with plenty of chop.
If you separate the two pieces at the steering handle and turn the set screw so that it is positioned on the left bottom side of the pulley, The set screw won't saw through your cable near as quickly because now most of the stress is on the top of the pulley instead of the set screw.
I have never had this problem. I guess I will have to take it apart and figure it out...
Yeah your right and cool fix you thought of! Native realized the flaws and redesigned the system and the cable in 2021. Since the new system is stronger they were also able to extend the rudder for better tracking and turning radius. No need to upgrade to the Boondox now.
Northwest Iowa guy here been checking out native watercraft have an older Hobie pa 12 and a nucanoe frontier 12. Like the reverse aspect
Where at in NW IA?
Great video really helpful
Thanks, glad I could be of help.
Midwest Bass Hunter ya I was really looking at a few different kayaks and this video helped me decide on the 10.5
@@kjoutdoors6525 great!
Awesome great vid!
You gonna try one out Dad?
Good stuff
Thanks
Ok, thanks. Hopefully they clean up the water issue.
👍
Does it paddle ok if need to in case of an emergency?
It paddles ok. I’ve used it without the peddle drive many times. It is a little more work than most kayaks for sure though.
Forgot to ask, since this video was almost 4 years ago, are you still rocking the Titan?
Yes, my wife and I both have the same model and I fish out of it a bunch. I did buy a bass boat last fall though so it probably will get less playing time.
@@MidwestBassHunter Very cool, great to fish with the wifey!
In 6 months we move from crappy South Florida to the country in NW Florida. After we move my wife is getting a MAX 10 also, she likes the Hidden Oak color. Can not wait!
How does the kayak paddle? If youre fishing some skinny water gets shallow to often, is the boat a solid paddler also?
It's not bad, my 1st yak was a 10 foot pelican, so this is a lot more work to paddle. Sometimes I hook the paddle on the rudder handle which is slightly annoying.
Sioux Center , Iowa . Fish at Spirit Lake alot
I live over by Spencer, I work in Sheldon.
Nice video what is the price point on this kayak
It is pretty spendy, Google "Native Watercraft Titan 10.5 Propel" and you can find out.
I'm in a Hobie Outback right now.. a 2014 model..I am thinking about purchasing one of these 10.5 and selling the Hobie. This looks like a great angler kayak. What is your thoughts versus the Hobie Outback?
Compared to an outback I prefer this for the stability, standability. However this is heavy and not near as good a paddler if you get in heavy vegetation or shallow water where you can’t use your pedal drive. The outback is a good paddler and a lot lighter to tote around but I like to stand a lot when fishing. The storage on this thing is tremendous also, lots of room.
@@MidwestBassHunter Yes, I bought the Titan 10.5 and love it. I did a review on it on my RUclips Somewhere Up ACreek Fishing Channel. Check it out. I love the ability to stand up after long hours fishing. I agree with you.
Can you fit your rods in the hull ?
I have never tried Bo. I think it would be hard to make the corner to get them in there. I would go try to put one in there but I have them put away for the winter in storage. I don't think I would want to put rods in there.
Can you cartop this boat on an SUV like a Chevy Tahoe? Roof rack is rated over 100lbs so it could technically support it but I can't find an answer on this either way! HELP lol
I’ve never tried it, it’s a heavy kayak, would be hard to do alone but I’m sure it could be done.
👍🎣
🕺
Is that 2018 or 2019
2018
Nice, these are called 10.5, but the actual length is longer at 10’9”.
One inch over 10.5’ 🤔
Does it get much water in the deck area. I know this was a problem for many. In addition to the seat making a lot of noise.
I get a little water in the front and I do run with scupper plugs. I haven’t noticed my seat making much noise though.
Where's mine? 😜
At the store 🤣🤣🤣
