These guys like Johnny on RUclips are BETTER than Motor Trend… Swear to god… these are the people that have got me to where I am in terms of being able to fully strip down a car… and rebuild it back together
Jonny: One should never rip a car like this with a just consumed lunch. I can just imagine how you felt, too bad you could not take this on the Autobahn. Tune sounded great.
@@ianmontgomery7534 They are more track oriented, don’t get me wrong, love those too but the Turbo S, you can actually drive as a daily and have the interior comfort and creature comforts too !
Lol Brian let me drive that thing to Automobilia a couple years back. It was nuts. I chased him home on 235 while he was in his huracan. That car is goals.
Jonny displaying his Z8 smile :-) I have a grudging respect after riding in a ridiculous widebody 90's Ruf Porsche....... The 5 point harness was appreciated :-)
Sadly, here in rip-off land Australia, the difference in price for BMW parts over non-oem is something like 300%. I get anything that is not a service item out of Europe or maybe the US depending on the model. Believe it or not, I can still get in here cheaper that what the local BMW stealership charges, even after the current exorbitant freight charges. I love this channel, it is really interesting and has a lot of variety.
You are a prime example of a man who knows his craft and does not need to boast excessively about it. If you were near me I would actually consider a German car......(Washington State)
One of the biggest issues with installing a borderline obnoxious exhaust like that 911 has is that it will broadcast every single engine miss to your entire zip code.
991 Turbo S is a great car, even without a tune. I was really impressed when we started seeing those. Major step up in quality for Porsche all-around at that time.
As soon as you said that the N55 was one of your favourite engines, I was sold. Been debating between the S3, 135i, or C63. Think I'll get the 1 series (future classic?). Cheers!!
Car Ninja is hands down one of the best German/Import mechanics I’ve seen. Methodical, trustworthy and fair. They don’t make ‘em like Johnny anymore. One day I hope to visit his shop
I miss my 330d Xdrive 2009, awesome car with pretty much every option. I sold it to pay off a bit of debt and to save a lot on insurance and VERY expensive diesel costs. The N57 is an awesome engine as well, but get one that has been WELL serviced with oil changes. The timing chain is in the back and it will wear out if you don't service the car properly with good oil.
I’ve heard of people not having Porsche’s be their favorite but yet to hear someone (especially that actually knows about cars) say they don’t like them. 🤔
Cayman 981 is less frog like. Better handling than a 911 and less $$. Spend the savings on a turbo engine build to make the cayman as fast as a 911 turbo but better handling.
Johnny is the best. Very talented and has a super personality. He's so much better than "the other guy" who's constantly whining about his customers and what cars he wants to fix and doesn't want to fix.
The Porsche 911 Turbo exists since 1975 (930), to specify the generation one needs the generation code 9XX/1 or /2. In the middle of the generation lify cycle, they get a major update and are than /2 versions. The shown 911 seems to be a 997/2.
That is a lot of stuff to remove to get to the air filter... Not super familiar with the P cars on maintenance side, but I will take ease of access on FR engineered cars any day.
the Ninja rules!! and as the magazines might say, he had his butt dyno recalibrated by the 911 Turbo S. current models are now down into the 9s in the quarter - that is officially insane. driving anything else after one of those must feel like piloting a potato.
Funny, top comment on hoovie's recent video is someone commenting on how clean your shop is, and y'all start this video with the guys cleaning the floor haha
Nive video Jonny...We also have a N55 F15 X5. Please post some maintenance stuff on it. I need to learn more. Would love to see if you found a "mod/hack" to the OFH hidden bolt behind the intake. Greetings from an Old Jarhead in WNC.
@K M yes, I'm aware of that. Thanks...but I also saw where someone modified the intake by cutting a small area off at the lower valance cover retainer peg, and was able to remove the hidden bolt without removing the intake. I was hoping Jonny could come up with some type of a hack so you didn't need to remove intake
Before you go with a cheap Chinese part, ask yourself how much YOUR time is worth and whether or not you really want to pay for the same part and work TWICE in three to six month's time. There's usually a really good reason that part was so cheap (shoddy materials, indifferent workmanship..)
Calls owner, "I'm going to need a long test drive to see if I can reproduce this intermittent issue. Like 200 miles. Should just take me an hour or so."
Wow. That looks like a fun car. Is the guy who owns the Porsche the same one that has the UR Lamborghini? I know you've got a customer that owns a bunch of REALLY fast cars. Definitely not Hoovie... LOL
There is a reason why cheap parts have "lifetime warranties" on them, a lifetime is a month or a year! Always go OE or OEM! A bit of google searching will get you to the original supplier.
BMW and Porsche owners are supposed to be mortal enemies… If you can afford a new BMW, you can afford a Porsche. The only difference being the utility of what you get for the money.
The trick with the Porsche is that the motor should be removed for most jobs. They’ve designed the car for this, though, so it’s relatively easy for a shop to accomplish.
Yeah I know it sounds magnificent, but a Turbo S doesn't need it, it's supposed to be a stealth fighter type of car, well mine certainly is, quite as a mouse & fast as hell, it's the perfect daily driver, Rj in Oz
Jonny has to be one of the kindest, unassuming guys on the planet
He just acts that way for the videos ...
.. he has The Gimp in his dungeon.
Jonny is a gem for local german car owners. Sure looks like he likes Porsches now. Looked like a spiritual experience.
You always want your car to be worked on by something like Johnny
Johnny is a magician. Such a nice clean shop. What a professional!!!
The production value of these videos is fantastic. Straight up should be a show on Motor Trend.
God no they would want it scripted and have unnecessary drama added for ratings
These guys like Johnny on RUclips are BETTER than Motor Trend…
Swear to god… these are the people that have got me to where I am in terms of being able to fully strip down a car… and rebuild it back together
Johnny: "Obviously I don't like Porsches at all" also Johnny "this is my favorite in the whole world... that was an awesome ride" :-)
Love the color and the rims on the porsche. Looks amazing
OMG, after working on one of mine all morning, i come in, switch on, and Car Ninja! What a treat. Thanks Jonny :)
Jonny: One should never rip a car like this with a just consumed lunch. I can just imagine how you felt, too bad you could not take this on the Autobahn. Tune sounded great.
Glad to see you guys back. Yes it's been a hot minute!
"Obviously, i do not like porsches at all, but this is my absolute favorite in the whole world" 😂
sounds like a love hate situation.
First thing I would buy if I won the lottery is a 911 turbo S. Dream car!
Great man!
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is the best sports car that you can drive as a daily !
My all time favourite dream car.
is it better than a GT2 or GT3?

Hard to believe a street car pulls like that. It's insane.
Porches may not be your favorite but their performance is undeniable. Nice job on this sweet, sweet ride.
Love that car, such a tastefully modded example of a 911 Turbo S

I miss your videos but understand how busy your shop is. Thanks for posting.
Love that air filter! And it's only $4.99 at your local AutoZone!

Hard to wipe the smile off your face after the test drive. Awesome!
This guy is the epitome of an automotive technician.
I've been driving Porsches for 50 + years.. Can not beat them !!!
Great video as usual guys. Love the BMW content but man that Porsche can PULLLLL
You are a prime example of a man who knows his craft and does not need to boast excessively about it. If you were near me I would actually consider a German car......(Washington State)
If only more garages were half as good. This chaps the top of his class, always.
why hasn’t Jonny got 500 thousand subscribers? he’s the man.
One of the biggest issues with installing a borderline obnoxious exhaust like that 911 has is that it will broadcast every single engine miss to your entire zip code.
I think I found my ‘Car Ninja’ locally to work on our Porsche, BMW’s, and the Audi. I really hope so.
You do a great job. Keep it up.

For someone that ''doesn't like'' Porsche's that was some kind of teenager smile 😄😄😄
youre back! yay Car Ninjah! And when you said Brian the owner I knew it was Epicenter Brian! cool channels both of you. cheers from Maine!
Nope. The Turbo S is owned by a different Brian.
N55 is a true gem. Love me a straight six.

Welcome Back! Thanks - good content - JR-Goes needs to work for you!
"Obviously I don't like Porsches" - hard to tell with all the smiles in this video. :)
I hope everyone listens to Jonny. DONT CHEAP OUT ON PARTS!!!
Man, that thing sounds SWEET!
Those GT3rs fenders looks great!
Film what you can when you can, lovely vids cheers.
Per Jonny " I hate Porsche, but I love the 911" this sums it up. Lol
Remember people, it takes the GERMANS to attach a computer module to the underside of an intake manifold.

Intermittent error you say.
Best take it for a 2000mile trip...... just to be sure!
Great job, I wish you success
I could tell the Porsche was fixed by the big smile on your face Jonny.
Any idea what exhaust the 911 has? Sounds good!
That is a lot of stuff to remove to get to the air filter... Not super familiar with the P cars on maintenance side, but I will take ease of access on FR engineered cars any day.
I was waiting for "I'm keeping this one."
Turbo S 🤩
Great Job Ninja 🎯🔥

The only way I go cheaper on parts is if I buy the part from the oem supplier, it's the same part without the vehicle manufacturer logo on it
Before you go with a cheap Chinese part, ask yourself how much YOUR time is worth and whether or not you really want to pay for the same part and work TWICE in three to six month's time. There's usually a really good reason that part was so cheap (shoddy materials, indifferent workmanship..)
@@houseofno that's why I said the oem supplier. It's the same exact part without the BMW, VW, Toyota logo on it
For a flat 6 engine, those cars really get after it.
That air filter is huge! Holy crap, man. That alone told me this car was built to gooooo
Mahle oil filters are good, even when made in China. But yes, Johnny's right with parts
Yes!!! Another upload!!!!
Why is it that everything is major work on modern cars Jonny had to strip the engine for the sake of a starter motor 🙈great video👍👨🏻🏭🇬🇧

Oh it's that Brian. He would probably join you.
Do you need a new gasket when ripping the intake out? 7:14
Johny my most popular guy! 🙌
Preaching to the choir on the Chinese parts with me. I've been saying that for 20 years!
Love ya brother. G
Oh, THAT Brian 😁
Johny got back to his old habit when he was Yonge racing fast cars
show the z3 in the background!

I wonder I the crew at Valvoline would do an air filter change...
Er...not terribly keen on the exhaust note of this Turbo S...
is this the bydesign car from several videos on watchjrgo youtube channel? sam the tuner and owner of bydesign.
If I make a comment, it's going to be the same one over and over again.......what a Pro!
You have to go through all that rigmarole just to change an air filter 😳
If youre sleeping on Epicenter Garage youre missing out....hes a very smart man with awesome cars.
I’ve tried a couple videos, personality hasn’t clicked with me for some reason, amazing collection of cars though.

Johny greeting from Albania ! Are you hiring at your shop ? I am specialised in Auto electronics diagnosing coding etc
Super curious, in general, why you don't like Porsche's? I've been a BMW owner and can't afford a Porsche, but I am considering one in the future.
BMW and Porsche owners are supposed to be mortal enemies… If you can afford a new BMW, you can afford a Porsche. The only difference being the utility of what you get for the money.
I love all your BMW content, you can tell you really love your BMW's!!
How much would that cost at a local BMW shop?
Where can I find Car Ninja merch?
It seems you have to remove the rear bumper to service your air filter? !
The rear wheels have to come and yes the back fascia has to come off, crazy
WE HAVE A CONVERT, FOLKS!
great video! nice porsche!
It's okay if you do not like the subjective style of a Porsche 911 but, the performance of them is undeniable.
I'm curious. Does one have to remove the rear bumper fascia to change the air filter? That engine looks like a nightmare to work on.
The trick with the Porsche is that the motor should be removed for most jobs. They’ve designed the car for this, though, so it’s relatively easy for a shop to accomplish.
What’s the advantage of this solenoid over a mechanical blow off valve?
More fine-tuning the computer has over intake air pressure.
Jonny = kool
I wish science could find a way to clone Jonny and send him to New Hampshire.
