    Lyles and Tyreek should actually agree to have three races at the same venue - a 100 meter, a 60 meter, and a 40 yard dash, all spaced 30 minutes apart. This way, their competition would cover all the major sprint ranges except for the 200 meter. Both athletes would presumably be in great shape and shouldn't have to worry about stamina issues.

    • @MarcelloAntestaco
      @MarcelloAntestaco 2 дня назад +15

      Tyreek has no hope in any distance. Sprinting at Noah's level has a degree of specificity that you can't achieve while playing football at a professional level. And even if Tyreek dropped football to focus only on sprinting (which he has no incentive to do, unless he's hit his head too hard too often), even with that, there's no chance he can compete with Noah in 2025 who's also been training hard.
      Athletics is a long game. It takes years of consistent practice to achieve running "just" 0.1s faster when you're close to 10s in the 100m.
      If an NFL player runs a 10.4s in the 100m on the track and with electronic timing, it's HUGE and really impressive. Noah can run a full 0.6s faster, that's around 6% difference. It's like running a marathon in 2h02 vs 2h09.3. It's the difference between men and women, that's how big of a gap there is between someone like Tyreek and Noah, assuming Tyreek can still run below 10.5 (he did 10.19 in 2012, ages ago).

    The thing people generally overlook is a 40 time in football is off of their first movement vs in track the times have reaction time from a gun. It makes the football 40 slightly quicker than it really would be in track.

    • @definitelynotchadfish

      Good point. It’s also kind of silly this is how they clock football 40s. As reaction time is relevant. Sure you know what the snap count is but there is still a reaction time from watching the ball snap to go. Seems more realistic to time their 40s that way.

With how much he's been improving in the 100m, you'd think that would also translate to the 200m. I watch the qualifying/heats through the final of every event. I have always appreciated what it takes to get the human body in such shape that it could not even be compared to any other sport. Also, running and agility are at the basis of every other competitive sport. This channel does a lot to analyze and broadcast the absolute insanity of performances and the meaning of such performance. From % of an improvement to the steady improvement of performances throughout the years. I absolutely love this platform for the quality and the quantity of the diverse aspects of the sport in which I unconditionally support. Albeit when I competed first hand throughout High School and College in the Mid 90’s through the early 00’s. And even before that when I watched the 88 Olympics on the old CRT tube, fixing the bunny ears to get a better broadcast; and yet it was never 100%. I tell those who don’t understand my love for the sport to compare it to the basketball and football heads. The court side fans who shell out small fortunes for season tickets. Likewise, the same for football fans who do the same; but also have a culture of meeting up beforehand for a tailgating extravaganza. That is how much I love the sport and have wanted to be a part of it in anyway I can. For me, personally this platform helps me stay active in the growth of the sport I love so much. For most of my adult life I had to give up a lot of my athletic aspirations because I decided to start a family and they became my life’s focus. But I am slowly starting to work my way into fitness so I can compete in the masters events/40yrs. Who knows I may shock some people and be the 40 year old who is competing in the 2028 Olympic trials. Obviously not in a running event but in a field event where it would be more common to see a guy my age throwing a javelin or discus; whilst still being competitive. In any event, thank you for this channel bro. I saw you as a commentator at USA’s national history past indoor season. I would love to share my track knowledge with your platform in any capacity. Way back in the 60s and 70s, Bob Hayes (100m GOLD in Tokyo 1964) was the top Track Star turned Football Player. Faster than Bo Jackson (4.13 40 yards and 10.4 100m) , or Darrell Green 4.09 40 yards and 10.08 100m! In 1960 Harry Jerome ran 9.9 100m by all 3 timers! But then they rounded it up to 10 seconds flat as they thought that nobody would believe it! Even Bob Hayes had a 100m where 2 of 3 timers had him at 9.9 seconds...hence the change to Electronic timing as hand timing had too much error associated with it. Harry Jerome tore his QUADRICEPS right off in 1962 at thye PERTH, Australia Commonwealth Games! Some Doctors did not think he would ever run again! He was young and the new surgery worked well. With it stitched back together, he got to walking, then running and back to track and had a BRONZE in the 1964 Olympics and 7th in 1968 in Mexico. Now imagine he doesn't have that INJURY! 7:55 Yeah, 4.01 40yd is not f-ing happening anytime soon, even if it's Noah. I think he could get 4.10 or even a bit lower, but there's no way he's getting .01 away from the 4-second barrier.

    You should really talk about Tyreek Hills 200m. He got clocked at like a 19 something in highschool track, and it could be possible that if he ran the 200m currently he could maybe be faster than Noah in the 200m. This sounds dumb but it’s just a theory if you care to look into it.

    This match up doesn't compare to Michael Johnson v Donovan Bailey
    Everyone knew those guys but this American football player - Europe doesn't know him and it's of no interest...I think Bailey v Johnson was over 150mts and given Johnson was a 400m runner, most people knew the outcome. The race itself was a farce due to Johnson feigning injury as soon as he knew he wouldn't win. Bailey was some sprinter, last to first in Olympic 100m final Amazing

      @tonyfortune346 2 дня назад

      I'm an American, and Donovan Bailey was my favorite track athlete in that time period. Something about Michael Johnson made him unlikeable to me. I remember watching Donovan blow by him like he was standing still and you could almost see the reality set in that he was going to lose badly and sure enough he immediately grabs his hamstring like he was injured lol. The only injury he had was a severely bruised ego

    the fact that the 40m times are all taken from when they start not when they react to a gun u can shave another 0.1s off of Noahs times even conservatively which would put his realist 40m between 4.0s and 4.15s imo but regardless of that any way u cut it Tyreek is getting dropped and left

    only chance of success for tyreek is in a 40m match race... noah does not start fast in any race he runs in... but he closes better than anyone ever with the exception of bolt... but here's the rub... in the 40 there's just not enough real estate after the gun for the vaunted lyles after burners to kick in... so tyreek could pull that one off... but in the 60 or 100 he would be toast...

    I'd like to see 3 (or 4) speed burners from the track world and 3 or 4 from the NFL run a sprint race. Lets see who's the fastest overall and which "team" has the better compounded and average times. Maybe make it 60M so midway between the NFL 40yd standard and the 100m T&F standard. Lyles, Colman, and one other from the T&F world.

    It’s funny how you and others believe that and in ; it’s what you do on the day that counts! Yet here you are giving Hill absolutely no chance at all, in fact you did absolutely nothing to demonstrate that Hill despite all the negatives you offer could do anything to improve or increase his chances! Yes he’s been running in cleats for some years but certainly going spikes changes the dynamics, then there’s training, nutrition, weight management etc but you choose to ignore all that to focus on your “pet”, Noah! Who got a gift as far as I’m concerned, in Paris! Who’s foray into the 9:7s is but a single venture, yet you speak as if he can repeat it with regularity! He barely does sub 9:85s(I didn’t check but I know it’s true), all said Noah could on the day for whatever reason be a dud! Or could lose on purpose and ask for a rematch to cash in! My take is that this race should include a couple more, perhaps one or two of the recent and/or current prospects for the NFL with Track experience and ability; you did highlight that Hill is 10 years removed from his track experience, this is to show that Noah is indeed as good as you advertise! Noah wants the 100 because that’s where the money is but he’s really a mediocre runner when compared with the elite, at least his times says so! Mind you the present crop of runners are no better or different at least Thompson and Tebogo seems to be better and perhaps Knighton too; at least they have youth(time) on their side!
