    As promised, here's a new episode from me right on time! It's been in the works since May and I'm really glad I was able to complete it before the summer ended.
    I had a concept like this in mind for a while, as one of those stories I came up with but knew I would probably never bring to life. I think it started when I thought one day "Given the Flying Kipper has fitted brakes a brakevan is unnecessary. Heha what if though one was coupled to it by mistake?' To me it would be very plausible for someone to make that error. And the plot and Old Grump came afterwards!
    Being honest, Old Grump is without a doubt partially based on someone from work. Never really satisfied at all and just seems to complain even when things are going smoothly!
    Big thanks to Dcg12b for narrating. I wanted a single narrator this time around and he was immediatly the first choice I had. I don't think I need to advise you to check out his channel but here's a link just to be safe haha :) / dcg12b
    Big thanks to all the music creators/adapters who allow their music for free use. They are all brilliant and well, they're already known for that so 'nuff said! Haha
    Anyways I'll leave it at that, and I hope you enjoy this. As you can guess this will be the last video from me for a while (again), but time will tell as to whether another episode can be made again...

    What a lovely surprise seeing this in my subscriptions! Enjoyed this through and through, another of your classics, I'd say! I'd have to say I really enjoyed Henry's Kipper Run bit, the camera angles and high speeds just made for a visually stunning scene. Overall, fantastic work, and I loved the little after credits scene. :)

    Wonderful narration, stellar music choices, great sets, and most importantly, nice to have you back. :) This was a great episode. It just goes to show a brakeman isn't always "accordion'd" into a heap every time one acts out.

    That was absolutely brilliant. I got a right laugh from several moments in this "I'd push you off the quay if I could" and James being accused of hiding the brake-van among others. This must be the famous Kippers smoothest run yet. Camera angles were an absolute delight. Honestly I'm astounded how you manage to make such beautiful sets despite not having a permanent model railway; as long as you have innovation nothing will ever stop you. DCG12B's narration was great too :)

    I love it! Great attention to detail and explanations as to why things happen. Nice to see you back! You definitely got enough brake-van related accidents and incidents XD I'm hoping people understand that the Kipper doesn't require a brake-van and don't complain :P Would kind of ruin the entire plot. Loving the shots! I have no idea how you made James' eyes roll stationary, and the shots of Henry were particularly intriguing! Will have to wait and see in the BTS then :) Good work mate! Keep going!!

    • @TheBlueE2
      @TheBlueE2  9 лет назад

      +Terrier55Stepney Whoops, I'd best explain here then (There's no BTS of how I did that)
      Basically, place a bufferstop behind James, and run him backwards, and have his eyes move as fast and as many times you want. Before moving the camera and pressing stop, record a few seconds of the model just static.
      Screenshot when James is static, and then overlay his static wheels under the footage of his upper half (the eyes) moving, bit like doing a splitscreen.
      Oh, also,
      If the bufferstop isn't in view (like at the station, it was hidden behind the coaches), you can leave it. But if it is in view (like it was at the shed scene whilst filming), you need to remove it *without moving* the model, otherwise the static frame and the moving frame don't match up.
      And then, it's best not to have the eyes moving *too* quickly, because the faster the motor runs, the more the model shakes. You can probably notice that James wobbled a little each time his eyes moved! It's why the Scots's eyes didn't move when static, they shuddered way too much for the effect to work as properly as it did on James.
      ^ Heha, hence why the Kipper was the perfect train to use! Thanks btw, glad you liked it :) BTS video will follow next week or so

    • @Terrier55Stepney
      @Terrier55Stepney 9 лет назад

      Ahh okay thanks! I had a thought it could have been splitscreen techniques you used but what with the model shaking and the wheels not moving yet staying together so well with the frames was pretty clever. Good job! Thanks for the tips. :)

      I'm afraid I can't, I don't own a Bachmann Thomas D:
      Annie, Clarabel, James, Emily and Duck are the only characters I own from both ranges, (Can't do James as my hornby model of him broke years ago, and Hornby A&C got repainted into the faceless orange coaches years ago)

    It's great to see new content from you and it most certainly does not dissapoint. The story was creative and flowed very well, and I loved the camerawork and sets. Marvellous job!
    (Also, I noticed you used Thomas' TATMR whistle, any reason for that?)

      Nice use of the RWS theme, too.

      Marcus Katich Thanks!
      To be honest, no reason really :p I think it was just a case of wanting to mix things up a bit instead of using the usual whistle
