Hydro steering has its problems, you can get air in the system , leaks , worn lines contamination of fluid, and its used on a lot of the bigger boats , surprisingly I had a single cable steering on my 16’ it was 22 yrs old and never had one problem just gave it an annual shot of grease and it was good 👍🏼
