I have sooo many thoughts on this video. Mostly, you are 💯 right. Haters are looking for attention. They’re like children looking for attention, they misbehave, they’re getting attention (though I’d get a crack in the ass for misbehaving when I was a kid, ). Erik, you put out such strong positive vibes and are an inspiration to so many of us. You do you, Boo and Fuck! the haters. We all love you and are grateful for what you do. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🥰😘

I have been living by the moto "The less I give a fuck the happier I will be" to an extent, and made me very confident and happy.
A little anictote: My father can fall to sleep in seconds when he decide to sleep. In a sofa in a bed and so on. And in my teens I asked him how he could fall to sleep so fast. He replied that he never go to sleep with an empty stomach or bad conscience.
So eat when you are hungry and sleep when you are tired and be good to people.
That's my motto as well. When you truly don't care what other people think, you have reached a dangerous level of freedom ;)
That's funny. My dad is just like that. One time when I was at his place when I was around 8 years old I heard how he fell asleep while he was playing the guitar! Insane! I've actually inherited some of that, I can sleep pretty much anywhere and it takes like 3 seconds.

I consider it such an immense privilege to have crossed paths with you several times (just wish I remembered the last time - you played in Krakow, Poland, with One Desire and Shiraz Lane). I was far too sh*tfaced to remember the show - traveled from Switzerland to see it - I shot a lot of video that night (progressively got worse) but, my girlfriend and I did have a chance to chat with you and Crash after the show for a bit. Just wish I remembered it. ;) Anyway - you're doing many people an immense service by connecting with us here on RUclips. You can't make everyone happy (nor is it your responsibility to do so). Take comfort in knowing you've had a positive impact on more lives than most of us ever will. Keep that in mind, and keep kickin' ass. Oh...and one day - maybe... consider covering anything from the greatest metal album of all time (which of course, is the one and only, Operation:Mindcrime, by Queensryche (1988). Your style is very different from Geoff Tate's but - that might actually give the music a new dimension many of us would appreciate. And if that's not your cup of tea- the aggressive side of your voice would absolutely slay Metal Church's timeless "Badlands" (just the video alone is as good as it got back in '89). I used to be a so-so singer but old age and decrepancy have taken their toll and now I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket. It doesn’t stop me from destroying eardrums on the reg though. Music has a cathartic effect and I always feel better after I’ve had a good belt out.
I think some people get caught up in their admiration for certain bands, or even just certain songs, that they forget others enjoy the music for the music’s sake and if reproducing it themselves gives them joy, so be it…we’re all musos to some degree.
Wanna make music, knock yourself out, but don’t go getting all bent outta shape if someone else does it and it’s not your bag…

Always remember, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. And a lot of those assholes are placed on another asshole, that never dared to risk it all on the thing they loved the most.

I think you are onto something my fellow Swede. I have complained a little bit about your Motley Crue cover recently, but it was in a constructive manor mostly i would say. Just for lol this is what i commented (from memory). I think tbh i would always say the truth, if i feel like they can handle it. Even tho it might hurt. It's the best way to evolve as humans. All these "THIS IS AWESOME BRO" comments, gets tiring. If it's really that awesome, then why views die out on most of those songs, well it was average, probably! 'Stick It In' one guy wrote on Twitter "I Love your track 'Stick It In'". Yet i can see that he has only listened to it 11 times, that's NOTHING! So is he honest, or does it suck? Well the streaming numbers says it sucks!
Time to unleash the fury, here goes. "Eric is a better singer for sure, but Vince Neil is still the best version for me, but you've got to keep in mind that Eric probably does one take or two. Vince Neil's vocal is comped and re-sang to his absolute best according to the band/the producer. I doubt Eric had a band/full production team pushing him, like YEAH MAN YOU CAN SING THAT BETTER! *KEEM STA MA HA, HAM HIT A DOG!*

Appreciate it dude. There's nothing wrong in giving constructive criticism / saying what you think if you do it in a respectful manner. Like if we would be in the same room talking. In real life if you're disrespectful enough you risk suffering the direct consequences of that. Behind a screen, not so much. What I think is sad is when people HAVE to do it in order to feel better themselves. I really do hope they find the feeling of importance that they need to be happy.
However I would argue that if you give constructive criticism I would only listen to that criticism if I believe that you have any expertise, experience or knowledge within that area i.e if I believe you can add any value to my improvement. You have to earn your way to my ears. There are a lot of opinions out there but mostly it's just incompetent noise.
@ It's interesting to get feedback from someone that is an 'amazing producer/artist' vs a 'Svensson Svensson'. That listens to your track and just says "yeah, its great man!!" or "it sucks dude". But then i think. Are they really saying it's bad 'all the time' or just for this particular track?
But in the end who is it that is going to consume your music if it's "successful"? Is it the minority of amazing artists out there or 'Svensson' that don't listen as critically as 'they' do? Hate or not..Sometimes the Svensson's can get you in the right direction. When i had the demo going for my latest track. One said "it feels a bit empty in the verse. I get bored until the chorus". Sure, it's brutal, and this guy is not a producer, or a singer.
I added little guitar fills when there was empty space, and it improved the song for sure. That's them trying to nudge you in the right direction, without really "knowing the proper language", what's "wrong" with your music. They just feel that something is 'missing'. Fellow respected Artists might be too afraid to say what they "really think" vs Svenssons, that just go for it!
The same Svensson said to me "I wouldn't listen to this personally. But this is something that easily could be played on the radio now, well done". Hate comments just comes from some form of jealousy or depression, it's sad ofc. I've been there. God i've hated so much stuff in my life, and i still dislike stuff a lot and i try to make music out of the hate instead!
Especially extremely Autotuned rap'stars'. I think it comes with age to just "leave it be" if you don't like it, no matter how much you hate something. Imagine how happy the random hater must have been that wrote to Joe Bonamassa about his Hairline, so he left social media there for a while! It's a tough climate, no doubt! But Joe came back afterall!
Don't focus on the negative f%6kwits mate. You are one of the best rock singers out there.
