Ashleigh - I came to see Thor: Dark World and wound up hearing about Ashleigh's Dark World. Dearest Ashleigh, we subscribers, as members of your extended family, are so grateful to see you every week and wish you every possible success. You may not realize this, but your struggles with your own personal demons are inspiring to the rest of us who also struggle. Now that you've seen the Wizard of Oz, you will understand this reference: you, Ashleigh, are already a super hero! The only thing you're missing is a cape! I don't know if the Wizard can provide you with one but you deserve it! And finally, a sincere thank you to your mother, who brought you into this world and brought you up to be a sensitive and caring person. Earth: Dark World is a little bit brighter because you are here. Please remember that the next time you're feeling low. This world needs you, Ashleigh.
So beautifully said, THANK you. I honestly wish that end bit was it's own video so I as well as others could easily click on it and experience her strength.
you said something that struck me, some days you could only find the ability to laugh when you were watching a video with us. Rest assured some of us have felt the same. There were days when watching you watch a movie was a bright spot I could find, made it feel like I had someone to laugh along with, so thank you.
I never comment on any posts, kind of ever, but I have to after your sharing. Here I am thinking I am a hardened war veteran, and I'm sitting on the couch crying along with you Ash. I'm glad you're with us, I'm glad you share your wonderful, awkward self with us. I'm happy that you've got Blake in your life and beans. You rock, girl. Keep getting after it! PS. I'm glad you shut those lights down lol, festive yes but also a little crazy PPS you don't need to see the first vacation to enjoy Christmas vacation. Stands on its own. Lots of love, sister. Stay strong, stay wonderful, stay awkward 😘
Damn it, Ashleigh, you made me cry. You are so special, girl, don't you know that. I have suffered myself with what I went though with cancer. I totally understand that sometimes thing just don't make sense. But I want to give you a big THANK YOU, Ashleigh for making my life brighter. I usually watch your videos when they are first put out which is 7:00 AM for me. Starting my day with an Ashleigh reaction makes for a happier day. Hang in there kid. You're going to be fine. Judging by the comments from others, you have touched a lot of people with your channel. Looking forward to the unboxing on Sunday. Can't wait to see your reaction when you unwrap the gift I sent you.
Oh dear Ashleigh. Now that we’re ALL crying, I just want to give you a big old hug. You, YOU, are also enough. I can’t tell you how much joy your videos bring. Getting to watch your first reaction to movies that I love is the closest I can get to re-experiencing my own first watch. And your personality is a ray of sunshine. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. And thank you for being so open. I’m sure there are others going through something similar and it sometimes helps to know you’re not alone. We love you.
Girl, I cried along with you. Long term living w depression myself and when I’ve had a bad day I’ve gone onto RUclips to see if you’ve uploaded so I’ve got something to look forward to at the end of a crappy day! Back at you Ashley! We love you here!! 🤗
I’m so proud of you for talking about your struggles. I hope when you are feeling low you think about me and all the other subscribers who look so forward to hearing, “hi, hellooooooo and welcome! You brighten my mornings with your reaction videos and I appreciate that so much. You don’t need to doubt your worth, you are head to entertain and brighten our days. Please understand your sadness isn’t uncommon and as bad as it feels, like everything it’s only temporary and you can get through it. Thank you for being real and being amazing!
I agree with @bleedscred 100%. I love the reviews and your honesty. As someone who has seen others struggle with mental health firsthand, I know it’s real, and you are so brave with your honesty. Keep up the good work.
Hey Ashleigh, don’t comment on a lot of your videos, but watch almost every singly one that I have seen the movie. And your laughter and joy has brought me so much happiness, especially during times this past year where my depression kicked in, seeing your videos really helped. It’s helped me have the courage to keep going on my channel at times and I really appreciate how authentic you are. Thank you for the amazing content and hope that you reach a million subscribers someday. Just hope you know how loved you are, and thanks for being so vulnerable at the end, haven’t been able to stop crying the past couple minutes😂😂
Good to see you here, Nick. I hope anyone who wants to follow someone else who doesn't hide their emotions goes over to your page and subscribes. I've laughed and cried with Ashleigh while watching movies and I've done the same with you. Both of you are amazing at showing your true selves and as hard as it is to see the pain you're going through Ashleigh, I'm so happy you get as much from us as we get from you. We are all a perfect circle, your videos help to keep us going and we help keep you going to continue to spread the laughter and tears. Thank you Ashleigh.
I can't believe this emotional heartfelt message is coming after THOR: THE DARK WORLD. And yeah, 2020 did a lot of damage to a lot of people, some who were already beat up to begin with. I'm glad you're doing better, but I hope you find something more than just this channel. Hope you and yours are all doing ok.
@@TheEndKing Just a quick note to you to say --- I didn't get it either. Are we certain that they weren't making a comment to someone on the last video they watched? I'm confused. It was nice of them to offer you a scholarship though (I'm wildly guessing that's what they were talking about 🤨)
Lol, getting Ashleigh to Phase 2 and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (where the fun really begins) feels equivalent to the time we had to wait, IRL, for the movies to premiere.
Ma’am, this is a 2 way street. Your channel and your joy at seeing these movies has helped me through this pandemic as well as being one of the few moments of joy I have in a day. 2018 was also my crap year (putting it lightly), and I just want to join everyone else in this comment section in letting you know you’re not alone. You are seen, you are heard, and we love you! Thank you for everything you do! Random movie trivia nugget that has probably already been mentioned: I love that you referenced Tangled because the actor who voiced Eugene was Fandral in this movie. I’m so glad you enjoyed! ❤️
Ashley: "Ah, Elves like Christmas time." Me: "Um...no. Don't be trying to put these Elves on a shelf." ALSO: Like many others on here - I look forward to your reactions. You are a gem. A true light. We are better for having you in our lives. Never forget that there are at least 100,000 reasons to be here. Love and Happy Vibes from The Great White North.
Ashleigh, you’re a gem. Thank you for letting us into your life and occasionally into your closet. My wife is from Russia, and the pandemic kept us 7000 miles apart for six months. I started watching these reaction videos because I didn’t even have the willpower to finish a movie during that period. After the lockdowns, I unsubscribed from a lot of these channels, but I kept watching yours because you are such a real person and it’s a delight to experience things with you. It’s rough to get the job and realize it isn’t what you thought. It’s rough to have to cut off family who are tearing you down. It’s terrible to lose the people who have kept us going. I think we all are having to rebuild our lives now, and I’m glad you’ve got a solid foundation for it.
You got me at the end of this, Ashleigh. I have to tell you and you need to hear this: you are the type of human that the world needs more of. You are a joy to watch, your laugh is contagious, and your openness allows most of us to feel like we actually know you. Thank YOU, and I hope that you really believe what you say, because YOU are more than enough, too. Thank you for the opportunity to have this symbiotic internet relationship, because it's good to know that when you bring joy to us, we are also providing you with some joy as well. And just so you know, you are the one channel that I check for in my RUclips feed every Monday and Friday, because I appreciate your reactions so much. Just keep taking it one day at a time, and if you can allow it to happen, you will realize that the world has overwhelming joy all around us, it just tends to show itself through the little things in life, so make sure that you take the time to appreciate all of the little things, even when the big ones can bring us down.
Yes put me down for the same comment. I am Retired military and somehow you get me to cry. I am a long time subscriber back in the TNL days. I have been waiting for your 100k mile stone.
"You are enough"...damn that got me. I love your reviews and sense of humor, and how open and honest you are about yourself. The mental struggle is real. Just remember your youtube fam loves you, and seeing you in mondays and fridays always gives us something to look forward to each week!! Stay strong and know you're enough!!
She’s not going to be able to handle “Thor: Ragnarok”!😂😂 I just wanted to add, after finishing the video...Last year, when reaction channels were popping up all over the place, one of your videos was recommended to me, and I am so happy I came across your channel! Of all those reactors, you are the only one I still watch! I watch your videos when I get ready for work, so THANK YOU for letting me hang out with you while I get ready for my day! Love you, Ashleigh!
Glad you're still around; NGL your channel has probably helped get so many people through lockdowns / the pandemic. I've greatly enjoyed watching you enjoy all these things. Stuff is hard, especially when family members let you down or have to be cut out. It happens. Life's a journey and not everyone can come with you. Thanks for the videos and sharing the good (and bad) times with us!
Ashleigh, I don't know if you'll see this with over a thousand comments, but I feel those feelings so hard. You're amazing and I'm so proud to be able to say we're from the same place. You're a bright spot in a dark world, and I truly hope you can keep going. The feeling of not wanting to continue can weigh so heavily, but gosh, you're worth staying around. Hearing your words to all of us echoing the sentiments you need to hear means so much. *You* are worth it. *You* are an amazing person, and I'm so glad that *you* exist. Thank you
I had a pulmonary embolism last year and almost died. This will be my 3rd holiday season all alone. Your videos are the highlight of my week. I'm so happy you're overcoming your mean brain. You bring lots of happiness to lots of people, Ashleigh. Love you, and Happy Jingle Beans!
Just wanted to wish you all the best & hope you're recovering from that trauma. I know what it's like to be alone at this time of year. It can be pretty crappy. You are not alone my friend x
Ashleigh, watching your reactions has helped me through some very dark times. I was laid off from my job of 20 years because of circumstances with the pandemic. And also taking care of my mother after a stroke due to her having Covid. I was unemployed for many months and had to start all over again. Watching you has really really help me in the darkest times. Thank you for sharing your emotions -- you are the best! Here's looking to 200k!
Bless you for having the strength to endure and push through your situations. It seems the 2010's has left quite a trail of chaos throughout the human population. But, hopefully it can be a reset button for us all, within the next decade. A genuine connection back to our basic roots of a better humanity. We have been humbled, to return back to kindness and understanding. It is something we all need to improve on. I hope this is the last holiday you spend alone, if you don't want to be alone. ...Even if it's just going to a coworker's house, whom you barely know. It could be a joyous occasion for you.
First off, I want to give you a huge congratulatory high five on the 100k! I know you can grow even bigger and I look forward to being there with you. As I've mentioned, I discovered you during last years Hallowbeans and instantly became addicted. I am an introvert who doesn't need a lot of human interaction, but sometimes I need a friendly voice and a good laugh with someone, and though all the upheaval in my life recently, moving across the country, starting a new job, and dealing with what feels like a fruitless search for an apartment, having you there to share a movie memory with me, to be able to watch some of my favorite movies along with you, has meant a lot to me. I'm going to try to write you a letter, which won't reach you for this unboxing live, but hopefully will for next months. But I just want you to know, we are here for you. You are a light in my life, and in 99,999 others and we are so glad you have the strength to push past the dark times and I hope if you find clouds ahead, you just need to look to us, to the comments, twitter, and IG posts to know you are not alone. Thank you for being you.
@@awkwardashleigh One of the things you do right (other than personality) is your videos are a good length (checks run time of this one... yup a little longer than most). 20ish minutes is a good length. Short enough that you can squeeze in a view around other things but long enough that the movie is given its due. Some movie reviews are longer than the film itself. Now, go watch Sorcerer (1977) and The Warriors (1979), but after jingle beans.
@@awkwardashleigh I am glad to hear that and I there is a marvel comic character called deadpool and Ryan Reynolds played him and you will see why, that is some people . the fourth wall is in the whole film and cartoons and stuff.
@@awkwardashleigh the Santa Claus Disney movie and it is the best and Tim Allen is my favorite actor and the Santa Claus 2 and 3 is best with Martin short as Jack frost and I do like the animatronic puppet reindeer and it was the first movie of a good idea. To answer your question about what's going to with Mrs Claus , it's the same as the Santa Claus deal .
@Ashleigh Burton Do you know what's completely ironic and comforting, at the same time? We need YOU, just as much as you need us; if not more!! I've been subbed since your Star Wars reaction and haven't missed a video yet. Incase you haven't noticed, I'd say that 100,000 of us care about what you think and would appreciate it if you would stick around so we could enjoy your reaction to movies that have touched our hearts because you touch ours. Sorry to sound selfish but who knows you might turn a viewer onto watching an "old flick". As long as you make videos, I'll keep watching and rooting for ya! A lot of us are reliving our first time seeing these movies through your eyes and the feeling is heart warming because you are a real person. The kicker of it all, though, is your personality. Can we just take a second and talk about your courage? Not too many people would be ok being an open book on video, but you stand proud in spreading awareness so people get help for themselves, absolutely noble! You are very sweet, kind and very genuine, which is refreshing. Sending love your way💖
well damn. that was the first time I've cried in like... probably two, three years? not because I'm as hard of a guy as my beard makes some people think, and certainly not because nothing shitty happened in the meantime, I'm just... too dead inside usually to be fazed by much. but that got me. I've watched every single reaction video on your channel except for three , and yes of course we all know about parasocial relationships these days and all that, not saying I know you in anyway. but even so I've spent just over 72 hours with your face and voice, and you've come to have some measure of meaning in my life (and the lives of 99.999 other people). and darn it, I don't really know where to go from here with this comment. just... thanks for all the videos and keep them coming. I'll keep watching.
Lots of Love Ashleigh. You have been an absolute highlight of my past year. Your reactions have been just a joy to watch. I look forward to every Monday and Friday afternoon (my time) when your videos release. Thank you for everything you do, and thank you for still being here. You are such a wonderful, genuine person, and I know I would sorely miss your content. Keep on trucking hun, and I shall keep on watching. :)
Who knows if you’ll read this but, if you do, I just want to say this: I’ve been in the same boat mentally/emotionally fighting depression my whole life and the very real urge to make it all stop for prob the last 3-4 years. I want to say you aren’t alone but also that your channel has become appointment viewing for me. I literally cannot wait for Mondays and Fridays so that I can see what you’re watching and how you react. To see someone go through the emotions of a movie - the laughs, the tears, the confusion leading to a big twist - it puts into perspective how beautiful the art is when it’s easy to just think of it as just a movie. Anyways, I’m glad you’re here Ashleigh and I can’t wait for the next movie. ❤️
If there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel, it would be you Ashley. Stay strong and positive. You're the best, and we all love you, and your reaction videos.😃👍❤
Ashleigh, I’ve said it before but you are the BEST reactor to movies I know, and I watch a lot of them. Like a lot a lot. Those aren’t just empty words, your videos are like presents, I always look forward to getting another of them. I’m glad you feel safe enough to talk about your struggles with us. I have (as so many others) struggled with anxiety and the psychological and physical toll it has taken on me can be rough, but you help make it a little bit better. Thank you.
Ashleigh you have kept many of us going during the last two years of lockdown, ups and downs (often more downs than ups), difficult transitions etc. You make lots of sense. Keep at it one movie at a time.
You are so amazing to watch every day. As a film geek, I love seeing people see movies for the first time, and watching your excitement and enjoyment of these pieces of art brings me incredible joy, each and every film. Watching you cackle through Mel Brooks's repertoire and cry during pieces like Shawshank help me enjoy film even more. You're doing what the media was made to do: make you feel, to laugh, to cry, to live. You're a way I can drop my jaw that a friend hasn't seen something, put it in the DVD player, and watch them watch it. I'm sorry your life has been so rocky, and I hope things improve for you. Always look on the bright side of life *whistling*. Thank you for doing what you do. And know that if nothing else, this channel, this community, these videos... this brings a smile to my face. Here's looking at you, kid.
Ashleigh, thank you for being you. I love how open you are with your struggles. YOU are more than good enough just as you are too. You need to know how much joy you bring to people. Think about it, 100 THOUSAND people have chosen to be notified whenever you post a video! We love you! I personally have laughed both at and with you. You are such a good soul. Please remember this when your brain tries to be mean to you. I have no doubt that as more and more people discover your videos, your channel will grow to a quarter million subscribers in the next 2 years. Remember that we LOVE YOU!
"Elves, like Christmas time!" Actually, yes, EXACTLY like Christmas time! Most of Christmas Mythology is based on Norse Mythology! I love when people sort of catch on to that! 😄 - Santa Claus is derived from Odin himself - the old wise benevolent bearded wanderer, lord of the elves who lives in the frozen north. - Santa's eight flying reindeer are derived from Odin's eight-legged flying horse, Sleipnir. - Santa's elves are based on the Norse elves (but not the Dark Elves, obviously). - The North Pole is based on Asgard. - Santa's Workshop is a version of Valhalla. - Santa judges children the way the Valkyries judge warriors - Yule/Yuletide is LITERALLY a Norse time, during which Odin leads the Wild Hunt across the skies. - Leaving milk & cookies and stockings are derived from children leaving hay and carrots to feed Sleipnir during the Wild Hunt, and Odin rewarding the children with gifts and treats in their boots/socks. - Krampus (Santa's demonic partner/copycat) is literally Loki's grandson (Hela's son). Christmas is 95% Norse Mythology, combined with a bit of Roman tradition (see Saturnalia), but with some Christian Mythology labels slapped onto it, and converted through the lens of capitalism.
There are also Keltic influences in there, besides the Scandinavian ones: Cernunnos, the horned god of the wilderness is represented in the antlers of the reindeer. The Krampus, a clawed, wild "spirit" of the deep, dark woods, stems from the regions in and around the Alps specifically. And Santa's name and red attire is obviously a reference to the early Christian bishop Saint Nicolaus from Anatolia in the eastern Roman empire. It has to be said, though, that Santa is really more of a Scandinavian figure and not present in middle and southern Europe, where the gifts are brought by the Christ child (a sprite-like angelic child, that may or may not be a reincarnation of Jesus). "Kris Kringle" happens to be an americanized pronunciation of this German "Christkindl". Additionally, in Italy there's also the "befana" (derived from epiphany), a benevolent witch riding on a broom and bringing gifts in early January. So, there are a lot of cultural influences and pagan beliefs from all over Europe still mixed in.
@@xczechr More letting the locals keep their old holidays and traditions but with a new God. Well, maybe not the horse penis bit. Some of the Norse blótr got *weird.*
Ashleigh, I’m so glad you decided to make this channel. We don’t know where our choices will take us but this was one of those BIG crossroads that brought you to something good. And you brighten my dark days with your golden personality. I thank you as well, girl. THANK YOU! 🖤
The lights are blinking because LED lights turn on and off with each cycle of the AC current (60 times per second). That's fast enough that your eyes (without the camera) can't see the blinking, it all just blends together. If your shutter speed on your video camera is close to that though, then it sometimes catches while they are on for multiple frames, and then sometimes while they are off for multiple consecutive frames resulting in that flicker you see in the video. If your camera allows manual settings, then you can adjust the shutter speed to eliminate that. If you don't have direct control over shutter speed, then you can try adjusting other settings such as the ISO, the aperature, or the recording brightness. Any of those may indirectly cause the camera to adjust shutter speed.
An issue easily solved by a 10¢ capacitor, but they gotta keep the production costs down somehow. It also looks like they might not have used a rectifier, possibly just relying on the LEDs to do the rectifying, saving them an additional 5¢ or so per string of lights. It always frustrates me when they cut corners THAT much. Like, sure, in a run of potentially hundreds of thousands of them, that cost definitely adds up, but, then, so does the revenue from selling the products.
This is why I keep coming back to this channel. You're so open and honest, whether you like a movie or don't like it. You take all our silly suggestions and spend hours and hours, every week, putting these videos together so we can share a laugh, or a tear, along with you. You and I may not see eye to eye on every film, but I appreciate that you come into every one with an open mind and an open heart. *I appreciate you.* Now that I'm through the mushy stuff, if you liked _The Dark World,_ you are gonna love _Thor: Ragnarok._ _Christmas Vacation_ is a holiday tradition with me. It just isn't Christmas until I see Clark Griswold lose his shizz-nit while holding a glass moose head filled with eggnog. No, you don't need to see _Vacation_ before seeing this film, but you won't regret watching _Vacation,_ either.
28:30 Awww honey. We all love you so, so much. We'd be devastated if anything happened to you. You've made such a huge, positive impact on our lives with your personality.
Ashleigh, you’re such a bright spot for so many of us, certainly for me. I’m an introvert and can’t imagine doing what you do. I think being able to put yourself out there is so very brave. And to paraphrase a line from one of my favorite TV shows…”my child, the darker the darkness, the brighter the light. And you shine so very very brightly.”
Now I want to just give you the absolute biggest hug (with Hubbin's permission, of course) right now, Ashleigh! We, all of us viewers/subscribers/etc, have a vested interest in seeing you succeed. You got to us and hooked us in. I don't think anyone wants anything bad to happen to you. Please take comfort that we value you for what you do. These reaction videos have been a major bright spot in a lot of darkness for a lot of people. As much as it has helped you, it has helped us. These movies, which we have seen numerous times over the years, are great to see someone react to for the first time. We get to see someone who hasn't seen a movie we love, get to see it first. That's a powerful experience. . Don't give up! You have 100K reasons to keep keeping on!

I hope that Miracle on 34 st is on the list, not only for the great story and Oscar win by the actor, but to see a young Natalie Wood, get the tissues ready!
Ashleigh, thank YOU for sharing all of this with us. A small thing you have given me: this year, we fostered and then adopted a puppy, and every morning he runs up to me and jumps and goes in circles while I pet him, and I have to say "Hi! Yes! Hello!!!" to him EVERY time. I know that's a small thing, but it's small things that can bring us joy, and I'm so glad I found your channel last year. You are enough, and to bring all these people the joy that you do, you are also something special.
Over the last decade I've lost familial relationships, lost a child, struggled with money. One of the things that keeps me going is sharing in the joy of people watching movies like this. Thank you, Ashleigh. You are awesome. And I am so glad you're still here.
Omg I wasn't expecting to cry at the end of this video. Ashley you're incredible. Watching your videos has gotten me through such a dark and sad time in my life. You deserve all your success.
Oh, Ashleigh! To hear that you've had such a rough few years, and here I've been since around last year's Hallobeans, just eating up your videos to help keep myself going! It's making me realize how sometimes the best things come from being in dark places, and how someone like you, especially with your own troubles can help pull others out of there with them. You have an energy and honesty that's just not common out there. That's why there are a hundred thousand of us! And I had no idea! A little over a year ago when I found your channel it was... certainly not 100k. Well done, Ashleigh!
Hey Ashleigh. Ricky here, from England. I watch you and your videos and get so much happiness from your watchalongs. You are beautiful, smart, funny, and clearly such a great person. You are gold. I'm guessing that you will read it but not feel it but, trust me, you are gold. You're meant to be here, this world is so much better with you here. You are enough. You just have to be. There isn't anything thing else you have to do, achieve, or whatever. You are enough. So, keep making the videos and we'll all keep watching along with you!
I don't want to ever hear anything else about you not being here. The world would be a darker place without you and you bring joy to so many people. You are loved and you matter to all of us. Thank you for just being you.
I'm sure you didn't mean it this way, but please don't tell Ashleigh that you never want to hear her talk about her struggles again. Life-long depression means that you deal with suicidal ideation and tendencies, no matter how hard you work or how well you are medicated. I would rather Ashleigh feel that she can always talk to us about her struggles than that she feels she has to shut up and not tell us that she's had very difficult times. Ashleigh, I live with what you live with, and I am so glad you feel that you can talk to this community about what you live with and what you're feeling. My brain is mean to me the way yours is mean to you - but just as you say, you are *enough*, and we are doing it together. Please keep sharing with us, please never feel like we aren't ready and able to listen to you and hear you.
@@jessicaross7288 Well you definitely misunderstood or didn't read it properly. I wasn't saying she shouldn't tell us about her life. I was stating I didn't ever want to hear her contemplating leaving this world again because she matters and is loved.
I am DAMN proud to be a part, even though I am just one tiny bit in all of it, of what keeps you alive and well in this world. I have no doubt at all that I am not alone. Your videos are one of the first things I look forward to watching when I get home from work. thank you so much for being an enjoyable part of my life.
Just letting you know, after a very horrible year in which I lost a job, my house, and a close family member dealing with some horrific health problems. Being able to spend some time escaping by tuning into your videos, as well as looking forward to the next one has helped me deal with quite a bit. So it's a two way street. We need you as much as you need us.
I've had a pretty rough last two years and I came across you channel last year. Sometimes your videos are the only thing that makes me laugh/smile all week. So feeling definitely mutual. I urge you and anyone to talk through any dark feelings with whomever/whatever is available even if it's just making a video to vent or screaming into the void. Thank you and I would miss you terribly if you were gone.
I'm glad you got 100,000 subscribers! Your reactions are fun and interesting and keep everybody watching. As someone who's fought depression since I was 14 (I'm 44 now. ) it was very touching seeing you open up and talk about your struggles. You are not alone.
Ashleigh, a lot of us are going through it hard right now. Hanging out with you during your reaction videos helps to keeps some of us going. So thank you, because it's you too.
You’re so brave to put it all out there like that. I really think that content creators have been the unsung heroes of this pandemic. I have never felt more alone in my life and you and a few others have been a lifeline to me. Your words at the end were so powerful, they are going to save someone’s life. I believe that deeply. Keep fighting the fight, keep being you and keep creating your wonderful content. It brightens our lives as much as it brightens yours.
Hey lady, you rock. I’m so sorry you’ve gone through all of this, but you’re incredible for opening up this way. You have 100,000 subscribers because you’re so genuine. We all love laughing with you because we see ourselves in you, too.
"The Dark World" indeed. I'm so glad to have been an early subscriber now more than ever. Always be aware that even without this channel, without us, you are a genuine person. It's why I kept coming back in the early days. Even when you hate on a classic (ET, my god) I still came back because I always know I'm going to get a genuine reaction to movies I watched over 40 years ago. I have so enjoyed watching them all again with you. Over the past two years since your channel started I went through separation and divorce, had to hold in my emotions and grieve the loss of my family life that's no longer possible. Add to that having to put on my brave dad face for my young daughter so that the division and her now having to split time between us is just a normal progression in our life. For her, not for me. This shit is not easy. I struggle every day. But I have something to look forward to every Monday. Then every Friday. Then sometimes Wednesday's on special occasions. And I get to laugh and cry with you watching something I enjoyed long ago. It's a joy for me. You have helped me every bit as much as I have you. Thank you for getting me through my depressive episodes. I am glad we have been here to help each other. Had your channel only maxxed out at 20 subscribers I would still be one. I want to make sure the part of your brain that tears you down sees this one thing and shudders in terror: YOU DESERVE THIS AMOUNT OF APPRECIATION, ADMIRATION AND POSITIVITY IN YOUR LIFE. YOU HAVE EARNED IT WITH NOTHING MORE THAN BEING YOUR UNIQUE SELF AND SHOWING IT TO THE WORLD. Take that, brain. Giant hugs across the internet for you.
Aww, Ashleigh. I discovered you a while ago and I loved your content, your enthusiasm and your heart. I binge watch a number of your vids each day and enjoy every minute of it. I know where you're coming from. I got diagnosed with depression a while ago, and have tried hard to get out of the hole I allowed myself to fall into. I was on my way to good things, I could tell, but then 2020 happened and...well, I fell back into the hole. I'm doing OK now, but there are days when I struggle. You're an awesome person. Keep on being you. We love you.❤
You give me something special to look forward to twice a week: YOU!!! You are the ONLY movie reviewer I've continued to watch FAITHFULLY for the last year+. Thank you for being the warrior your are & keep fighting the good fight!
"And there were some days that the only times that I could muster a laugh was because I was watching a movie with you." Same, girl. Same. Thanks for being here for us through this crappy era. Your uploads are like an awkward ray of sunshine through a stormy sky. And this sincerity and genuineness is what makes you the best reactor on RUclips and a lovely and strong person. Thank you.
Ashleigh, I don't normally comment on your video's, I just enjoy your reactions and smile and laugh along with you. A week ago today a fire started in my daughters bedroom. Luckily our smoke detector alerted us and my partner, daughter, two sons and our two dogs got out safe. Unfortunately our cat didn't. We have lost everything, all we had was the clothes on our backs and each other. We are currently living in a hotel, so life is pretty shity right now, but you continue to put a smile on my face and joy in my heart. You are amazing and have earned that 100k subs. We all have our dark days, and our dark thoughts. As a subscriber, I'm glad to have been part of the reason you still have hope and can find joy even on the dark times. Just like you have done for me during my dark times this week. Your vidoes given me something to look forward to, where I can forget the stress and worry of my present situation. Thank you for being my support and my light. Keep fighting the fight Ashleigh
@Ashley, Congrats on the 100k subs and growing! I'll tell you this, I typically flag all 1st time watching / movie reaction channels on RUclips as "Do not recommend", but I actually subbed to your channel and it's not because of the content so much, but the person in front of the camera. You! I follow you because you are intensely REAL, GENUINE, UNAFRAID and HONEST. Your personality is what brings so many people around to watch you watch a movie! You keep doing what you're doing and by this time next year you'll be crying over hitting 1 mil subs!!
you are a such a beautiful person. always keep in mind that the thing the channel is doing for you is the same thing you are doing for these thousands and thousands of viewers. you brightened up my days so many times. i cried and laughed with you so many times. i even watch the reactions to movies i know i don't like just to see your genuine emotions. stay the way you are and keep doing the things that make you happy! sending you hugs and kisses from 5000 miles away. thank you for everything
I'm going through dark times and I also deal with depression as well and whenever I watch one of your videos, It always makes me feel better and makes me smile and laugh. This is more than just a movie watching reaction channel. It's like you're a really good friend that we know and we all get to visit and hang out with every Monday and Friday. You're genuine, real and honest and you're an amazing person. Thank You Ashleigh.
You got us through the rough days too, we love you! My 20 yr old cat died today & even though I knew it was coming it has devastated me. Getting home & finding a new video from you is the best therapy for me. Thank you from my heart, I am truly alone now but people like you keep me from feeling lonely.
Congratulations for hitting 100K subscribers!!! 🎉🎊. It's a direct reflection of your efforts towards this channel but I'm not at all surprised you reached it. You are fun to watch movies with and you even turn the films I didn't care for that much into a good experience. Now for the heavy stuff. I've tasted some of the darkness you're talking about. I almost died back in 2018 due to an infection in my body that I didn't even know I had until I was rushed to the hospital. I spent 7 months in a hospital bed with powerful antibiotic treatments. Many treatments and several surgeries later I survived. My rehab back to what will pass as my new normal continues to this day. Since all of that began I have asked myself whether my continued existence is worth the burden to my family. They have to help me now with basic meals and even just getting around the house. That's a huge blow to someone who was able to live an independent life at one time. You are right. Sometimes we are not kind to ourselves in our own thoughts. All I can tell you is I haven't given up on hope for brighter days ahead. I sincerely hope you don't either. You are a treasure in the RUclips community. You are one of the reasons some of us smile and laugh every week. You offer needed relief in dark times. You make me feel like I'm watching a movie with a friend and I can't even explain how valuable that is. To many of us... YOU ARE ENOUGH
We're so proud of you, we love watching movies with you too! We and many others will continue to keep you company for many years to come. Stay strong, much love from Scotland x
Aww sweetie. You have made my wife and I so happy this year. We’ve been subscribed since the beginning and you have quickly become our favourite channel. You feel like a friend, even though we don’t even know you. We have been able to handle lockdown in Australia because of you. Thank YOU for being here. Everything you are saying to us, we are echoing it right back. We both deal with depression, anxiety, and I have extremely toxic family members and horrible past jobs. You have inspired us to start creating again. We just want to give you a big hug.
I watch a lot of reactors and can be selective on which videos I watch, however I don't miss a single one of yours because of who you are. You have a great energy, humor, wit, and sincerity and I look forward to every upload. YOU are even better than enough, you are amazing.
Every morning that starts with an Ashleigh reaction is a good morning, I have a smile on my face all the way through and it starts my days off on the right note! I've especially been enjoying your journey through the MCU and I can't wait to accompany you on the rest of your journey! I think I can speak for the rest of us when I say that you've been an albeit small, but oh so bright spot in my life ever since I've started watching you. Your laugh is infectious and it's impossible to be in a bad mood while watching you, and that's a trait that not a lot of people have. You have a beautiful soul and a powerful spirit that can't be snuffed out, and if you've made it through everything you have up to this point, there is nothing you can't get through! Just hold on tight to those you love and lean on them in times of strife. And you may not know any (or at least many) of us personally, but we feel like we know you, at least a little bit, and a lot more so after today! Our days are made just a little bit brighter when we see your videos, and I thank you for all that you've done, and for just being you. Because like you said, that is enough. Keep up the great work Ashleigh, and most of all, KEEP BEING YOU!!
You're so straight up, in your reactions and in your other stuff. So brave but thank you, we're happy to help you through it all because you make us so happy just watching them movies. You said it, most reactors are reacting, but you watch movies with us, it's so different somehow because you are so honest. Big hug 😋
Thank you for sharing and making yourself vulnerable, Ashleigh! I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve struggled so much these last few years. We all really appreciate you and your reactions. You’re so valuable and so wanted by so many of us!
Ashleigh, thank you for sharing yourself, and what you're going through. I'd like to give you a big hug right now, but, since that's not possible, I just want you to know that you can use us as a virtual shoulder to cry on any time you need to.
You are a beacon! Just for talking about those things. Even to this day I miss the comfortability of knowing my dad was in the next room at his computer with our dog on his lap and the news showing on the TV. Both my parents, grandparents, and aunt are gone, and I too thought about ending it. Its hard for me to even leave the house. This channel is one of the few things I look forward to.
First of all, I so love that you are continuing with the MCU!!! Your enthusiasm makes me feel those feels all over again! Second, you are not alone. So many of us turn to your channel to bring us happiness and connection while living with depression and dark thoughts. I am glad to be on your “hot mess express” and I’m with you til end of the line, sister!❤️ Congratulations on 100K!!!🎉
Love you Ashleigh! My wife and I found your channel during the pandemic and we've enjoyed every one of your videos since then, and it never fails to brighten our day. I know how it feels to suffer with depression, and it's never easy. But I wish you all the best!
Just know that YOU are a reason some people are still here as well. As others have said, your channel and videos are a bright light to a lot of people, and I can only tell you that I hope you have enough to stay, and much more. Please keep unloading your burdens as you need to since we'll all keep watching.
I can't WAIT for you to see Thor Ragnarok. Cannot WAIT. Congratulations on 100k. I truly am so glad I have found this channel. You are delightful and you make me laugh because you're just so authentic. Your humor is natural and I can really relate to all of it. Some people just have a gift when it comes to making others feel warm and like they are apart of something and you have that. You truly are just very special. Don't ever forget that. I've had those dark moments myself and there are still sometimes those thoughts creep in. Always, always keep going. Super, super happy for you because you absolutely deserve all of this success. I'm glad you're still here. Thank you for the content and just being a good human.
I have been watching your channel for months now and I feel a little invested in watching your reactions to all of these movies. Now I want to say I appreciate you because to laugh, and smile when you're not feeling well is a daily act of bravery. Please, continue to take care of yourself and remember the world is better with you in it.
So many time you thanked us, for how we've helped you with what you've been going through. I personally want to thank you young lady for starting you channel, and doing all the videos you've done so far. I look forward to each one you post, they brighten my day and my weeks. I'm so pleased that I came across your channel. Thank you for being you, a happy, joyous, bubbly individual ... who I assume, enjoys doing what she does. Keep up doing such a wonderful job. Always remember that you have beans, hubbans (if spelt right... lol), your family, and us (your online family)
My husband and I thoroughly enjoy watching your reactions together. We both teared up with you to the point that our cats came to comfort us. Thank you for doing what you do here and for being open about your own struggles to the extent that you feel comfortable sharing. Now I’m stuck under a napping cat in a sunflower soft cone hoping my husband offers to get me chocolate 💖🤗💖🤗
Oh, Ashleigh, I wish I could reach through the screen and give you a hug. I have been there with having to cut out family members and I came very close to ending things myself when that happened. My boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband, definitely saved my life. It's okay to not be okay. Thank you for your wonderful videos. I get a lot of joy from your reactions to movies I love. Remember that you are also enough.
Every day you go on, you prove how tough you are. Don’t let your demons get the better of you. We’re fans of your channel, and we are also supporters of you personally. You are the channel, and you are the reason we keep tuning in. You are powerful, and I for one admire your spirit.
Watching you see these movies and react to them is like watching them for the first time (for me ) again. You're not one of my kids (obviously!), but that was what was great about taking kids to places I'd been before, watching what I'd seen before, tasting what I'd enjoyed before... for their first time. So thank you for giving me joy just watching you watch these.
Keep doing what you do Ashley, your reactions are awesome! Stick close to your husband and Beans and whomever you love and whomever loves you back. You're a damn strong person for not having taken the final step, but kept going down the tougher path.
Im just a lurker, but hearing talk about your struggles i feel you, you have giving us strength to keep going too. Keep it up we're all here to support you.
hey Ashleigh, as a fellow survivor and battler with depression, I'm glad you've found something that keeps you going - you are more than enough, you're absolutely fabulous, I love watching your reactions x
Oh, the tears! I'm like Dolly Parton, "I have a strict rule that nobody cries alone in my presence." Ashleigh, honey, you are a bright spot in this pandemic. When I got into your channel last year through a friend, I was having some trouble myself, isolated as I am already, and then having all this happening in the world on top of that to make me more isolated, and I literally laughed so much with your videos and had such a good time that I could kinda forget a little and set all that aside for a bit. This helped me deal with things a bit better, and I took the time to go back and watch all of your videos all the way back to the beginning (except for A Nightmare on Elm Street, simply because I despise that series of films so much, but I'm digressing), and I've had so much laughter and so many (good) tears as a result. I also never miss an upload. When you uploaded your cover of Fancy, I cheered for you so much, and I'll say again what I said then. You aren't the Dollar Store Reba, you are the Genuine, Authentic Ashleigh, and that's so much more important of a person for you to be. All the digital hugs to you, Ashleigh. :)
Just remember that on some days, at least for me and probably others here, you're the only bright spot of that day. So, we need you as much as you need us. Thanks for all the laughs and tears. You're the best and congrats on the 100K subscribers. Looking forward to all the reactions to come.
Gotta admit, your enthusiasm and joy and big heart kept me smiling during this whole quarantine stuff, you are a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing your thoughts and time with all of us.
Like my therapist told me: hang on to any life saving device you can while drowning. Anything that can keep your head above water until you are out of the worst. Connecting with people like you has made the last couple years become less of a personal hell and more like chilling with online friends… for a really really long weekend. From one who knows your struggle, thank you for being strong, we would all be much lesser without you. At my lowest, knowing that, grasping that no matter what my mind tried to convince me, kept me around. And I got to enjoy your first reactions to so many things I love. Thank you.
Ashleigh, what you have stumbled upon is finding a passion. When you have something you truly love and find satisfaction in doing, your life makes a massive turn. It becomes an anchor to everything else around you and keeps you focused on something bigger and greater than yourself. In this time of post-Thanksgiving (where we need to remember to give thanks!) and heading into the holidays, we all need to remember to be happy for the things we have vs. pining for those things we do not. I continuously suggest your channel on my podcast because I thoroughly enjoy your reactions, comments and humor! Looking forward to more Jinglebeans and more MCU reviews along with whatever else comes through your channel!! Merry Christmas!!
Ive been watching since the beginning and i have loved every minute of watching you develop and you are right, lots of character development 10/10 would watch again. I have struggled myself for many years. And im not lying when i say, i live for mondays and fridays. We may have helped keep you going, but you have helped 100k+ people keep going.
You are such a sweetheart. The next time you are feeling down, just remember us. You can read your previous comments to see how much we all care. You make us laugh all the time. Don’t feel alone. You have lots of people that would be your actual close friends if we had the opportunity. I am one of them. If you need some cheering up, need a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to, I will always be here. Let us know if you need anything. We will always help if we can. So go hug your fur babies and snuggle with hubbin…I guarantee that will make you feel better. We love you! Congrats on 100k and we look forward to your next video.
Thank you. Your channel has brought levity to the crazy age we’re living in these days. The last year and 3/4 has really sucked, but I have looked forward to your notifications each week. You’ve reviewed some old favorites of mine and your mid-review pondering usually gets me smiling. Hang in there, enjoy your success milestone. Thank you for being open with your mental heath struggles. I am a parent whose kids struggle, too. You are not alone in your struggle reach out when you need it.
OMG girl! This took a left turn! I love your reactions. I feel like you and I are sitting in the same room watching movies together. I love your running commentary style. You are one of the best actual reaction channels and I can see your pleasure when you do these videos! You are going through such a struggle and I'm glad I can be part of your audience and support you! Congrats on the subscriptions AND for being such a hero to others.
As an old goat who has been through tough times I want to tell you that your channel has given me a lot of joy. There is an old saying "Tough times never last, tough people do." Keep being the person that you are and never be afraid to pick up a phone when life gets to pulling you down. There is always someone ready to listen and get you help. I love your smiling face and your reactions to the movies you review.
I think that you're just totally amazing, Ashleigh! It's so awesome how little things that we didn't know would be something so big in our lives. I'm so thankful for you and your wonderful channel. You're such an incredible person with your honesty and being so candid. Mental health is real and a lot to deal with, but you make it so honest and true. We're here for you, Ashleigh! You're a sweet person with a kind heart. You are one of the most real people that is out here in RUclips land and you bring a special gift to all that watch you. You keep being you and know that you are loved! We're here for you!!
I enjoy your reactions so much - I go back and rewatch some of them that are my favorites! You give me happiness and laughter and sometimes that is in short supply in my world. I’ve been through (still deal with) depression, anxiety and insomnia. I had one attempt on my life which resulted in a fairly long stint in a mental hospital and another visit back there when I was having strong ideation and plans. The psychiatrist made me read a short book that had a huge impact on my thoughts about suicide. Suicide: The Forever Decision by Dr. Paul Quinnett. I know you don’t like to read, but the book is no nonsense short and blunt about suicide. I read it and it changed me forever. I still have very bad times, but have never once considered suicide ever again. I suggest this to you kindly, with the affection I feel for you. The world would be so much darker without you in it. Congratulations on reaching 100,000 subscribers! You have a great channel and creativity! I’ll be faithfully watching every new episode!
Thank you for your openness and willingness to share your experiences with Ashleigh and with the rest of us. I, too, am living my life with Depression and Anxiety though I am fortunate enough that I have not considered suicide as a solution. I know, though, that there are probably many people who will read your comment who will need the encouragement that your experience will give them. Again, thank you Teresa and I hope that even when you're in shadow you can always see the light and that you have many more sunny days than cloudy ones.
Thank you for being you Ashleigh. We live in a world were many try so hard to hide their flaws, yet we are all flawed, but for some reason we feel we are bad because of our flaws. It is so brave and wonderful to have someone be willing to share their true self flaws and all. My wife and I really enjoy seeing your reactions and hearing you comments. We love your spirit and energy. Keep being real and know you will always have value. It would be sad to think the world would not have spark in it. Keep it up and hang in there.
OMG girl! I FEEL you! Hugs sent your way! 😭❤❤❤ you keep on keeping on!! I've been working from home since March of last year and felt really secluded. If it weren't for my husband I'd lose it, he's my best friend. Your videos brighten up by week. I'm not surprised you have 100k subscribers. You're hilarious and sharp as a tack. THANK YOU! 😊❤ I'm ugly crying here too, no mascara tho. 😅
This world needs you, Ashleigh.
jeez, get a cape atleast ughh...
So beautifully said, THANK you.
I honestly wish that end bit was it's own video so I as well as others could easily click on it and experience her strength.
Real talk
you said something that struck me, some days you could only find the ability to laugh when you were watching a video with us.
PS. I'm glad you shut those lights down lol, festive yes but also a little crazy
PPS you don't need to see the first vacation to enjoy Christmas vacation. Stands on its own.
Lots of love, sister. Stay strong, stay wonderful, stay awkward 😘
Thank you for your service.
Same, uh, I mean, I'm not crying you are!
I’m inserting the inverted commas around ‘special’ in my head 😜
No shit, that was intense honesty about some rough times. I love you Ashleigh, you are a beautiful person, thank you so much for sharing yourself.
And (yes)
You are a joy to watch, too!
Why not comment on lot of her videos? Just curious, that's all.
Yes what he said. 🌝
love your channel nickie!
I can't believe this emotional heartfelt message is coming after THOR: THE DARK WORLD.
And yeah, 2020 did a lot of damage to a lot of people, some who were already beat up to begin with. I'm glad you're doing better, but I hope you find something more than just this channel. Hope you and yours are all doing ok.
so your sense is to beat on those already damaged people? again and angain and AGAIN?.
you, good sir, need to take a good scholarship.
@@HellBrYnger My sense of what?
@@TheEndKing Just a quick note to you to say --- I didn't get it either. Are we certain that they weren't making a comment to someone on the last video they watched? I'm confused.
It was nice of them to offer you a scholarship though (I'm wildly guessing that's what they were talking about 🤨)
Lol, getting Ashleigh to Phase 2 and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (where the fun really begins) feels equivalent to the time we had to wait, IRL, for the movies to premiere.
She's going to love Ragnarok
@@ScientificallyStupid I can't wait to see her reaction to Guardians of the Galaxy
LOL, I'm waiting for her to watch Loki, the series...
Think she'll do a TV series?
I agree. From that movie on, the MCU is firing on all cylinders, and Ashleigh is going to lose her mind...
Right!!! It’s dragging! But I’m here for it
Ma’am, this is a 2 way street.
so where is the split if one travels a one-way road.
Ashley: "Ah, Elves like Christmas time."
Me: "Um...no. Don't be trying to put these Elves on a shelf."
ALSO: Like many others on here - I look forward to your reactions.

Also, I want it to have it on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride...
She’s not going to be able to handle “Thor: Ragnarok”!😂😂
I just wanted to add, after finishing the video...Last year, when reaction channels were popping up all over the place, one of your videos was recommended to me, and I am so happy I came across your channel! Of all those reactors, you are the only one I still watch! I watch your videos when I get ready for work, so THANK YOU for letting me hang out with you while I get ready for my day! Love you, Ashleigh!
yeah, Ashleigh is the only reactor that I really like. Some of the others just really grate on me..
I can't wait for her to get to Ragnorok
Me too, it's my favorite in the Thor franchise.
Happy Holidays, we'll all share them together watching movies every week with Ashleigh. Wishing you the best, brother.
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH ❤️❤️
@@awkwardashleigh One of the things you do right (other than personality) is your videos are a good length (checks run time of this one... yup a little longer than most).
Didn't expect to feel so emotional watching a vid on Thor: the Dark World. You too have helped us thru these dark times. Grats on the milestone.
Well said. :)
I hope it's not a flashing light though.
"Elves, like Christmas time!"
Actually, yes, EXACTLY like Christmas time!
Most of Christmas Mythology is based on Norse Mythology!
I love when people sort of catch on to that! 😄
- Santa Claus is derived from Odin himself - the old wise benevolent bearded wanderer, lord of the elves who lives in the frozen north.
- Santa judges children the way the Valkyries judge warriors
- Yule/Yuletide is LITERALLY a Norse time, during which Odin leads the Wild Hunt across the skies.
Indeed. The co-opting of pagan religious festivals is what helped Christianity spread so widely. See also Easter.
Incandescents forever!
*I appreciate you.*
Now that I'm through the mushy stuff, if you liked _The Dark World,_ you are gonna love _Thor: Ragnarok._
_Christmas Vacation_ is a holiday tradition with me.

@@brion0220 If you haven't seen Stalled I really recommend it. If you are into that genre.
I second the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street
And yeah, depression sucks. Solidarity.
I really appreciate the epilepsy warning. My older brother has photosensitive epilepsy and sometimes watches these with me, so thank you.
OMG, Ashleigh! Here's a huge virtual HUG! I know this is an older video at this point, but glad you're still with us. Take care of yourself!
Sending hugs your way
First of all, I so love that you are continuing with the MCU!!!
I'm so excited to see her watch that too! She will love it so much!!
@@selardohr7697 and then...Infinity War.
Thank YOU
Keep doing what you do Ashley, your reactions are awesome!
