The whole band is great, but their drummer has to be one of the best I've ever seen. He is unreal.

Brann is an extremely skilled drummer, and anyone could see that. If you don't like Mastodon or their music, any musician can at least appreciate how skilled the whole band is. He may not be Aaron Stechauner from Rings of Saturn or the drummer from Infant Annihilator, but he's fucking mastered in music.

When I sing along to Mastodon songs for some reason I always find myself singing the riffs instead of the lyrics "Chugga chu chugga guh, chugga chu chuggah guh, chun chun, cah chun chun!"

I'm a brand new fan of Mastadon. Heard Blood and Thunder earlier this year, learned how to play it on guitar and then went on to listen to everything they have released. Leviathan speaks to me more than the rest of their albums. I'm a die hard metal head. I love this album.
It was the one that got me into mastodon it's amazing from start to finish
Leviathan needs to be put in a vault of precious human accomplishment to preserve for future generations.

All 4 guys are extremely talented musicians, they can all sing and they are great songwriters; writing heavy riffs or catchy melodies and harmonies.... they tick off all the boxes what makes music great for me and to me the best metal band of the last 20 years (Gojira a close second)

This video was my first introduction to Mastodon on one of the cable video shows (probably the 2nd gen Headbangers Ball). Blew my mind then and still does now, even after they've evolved so much since.

It would be a surprise. Brent is not really a huge fan of metal anymore, or at least dislikes most of the community of heavy metal. They're having more fun with the music now and I honestly respect it. Besides, they have a couple of really heavy songs on every album.

In my opinion, Mastodon is one of the best metal acts out there currently and will probably be a part of the list of metal bands that are classics like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Dio, Black Sabbath, ect.

I need mastodon as a part of my life as I listen to music daily. So many labels now a days about bands and what is popular. Mastodon is not always hard, but neither is my daily listening, so we blend together oh so well. Just saw them about a month ago in Columbus and truly one of the best shows I have seen, and I have seen a lot of shows. Mastodon has turned into a very accomplished musical band and continue to get better. I thank the world for you guys...

When I was a kid like in 8th/9th grade I saw this music video on fuel TV, I was hooked the incredible sound of mastodon- I devoured the leviathan album that summer. Such an awesome band!

+PanasonicTooth is this really considered heavy? this is akin to like... hard rock. the singing is light, the guitar sounds like something you'd hear a normal rockband play and the drums are... meh. this really does not seem heavy to me whatsoever.

AH PUCH Like I said it's not meant to be brutal death metal, it just is what it is. Mastodon are kind of a prog band too so yeah..to the average person and even a metal fan this is reasonably heavy. I guess it just comes down to what the scope of your definition of heavy is.

Had a disco party at my elementary school a few weeks back, of course had a air guitar competition in there and played Iron Tusk for them, some of those little kids rocked the fuck out and it was so awesome

mastodon is one of the few good bands of this generation, they produce real, good music that not only sounds good but its very complicated an technical, i love mastodon, one of my favorite bands ever hands down.
