In this video, I'll show you how to make a rechargeable D-sized battery using three 3.7-volt lithium-ion batteries and a voltage regulator that can step down the voltage to 1.5 volts.
With a few simple steps, you can have a rechargeable battery that is easy to use and cost-effective.
The battery that we are going to make can be charged wireless or via USB Type-C.

Given the time spent making this battery, the budget needed to make it, apart from the pleasure of doing it yourself, I wouldn't bother doing this given the price on the internet !

Better still, recycle the battery and either 3D print or get someone to 3D print a custom battery enclosure. In fact, if you go down this route, then you can custom print various configurations and sizes, such as serial double-D, etc.
I appreciate your attention to detail a d quality design not like most youtube diy channels that design things that dont last.

How would you overcome the recharge fatigue on the rechargeable batteries inside the D casing? At best, you'll only get two years out of this set up. Also, what did you do with the alkaline you removed?
As opposed to the dead battery after one cycle of an alkaline, 2 years isn’t bad. Also, can’t lithium batteries last a lot longer than 2y?
@@julianwulian6547 I used even good Cd-Ni for 10 years. Lithoum use may be shortened by too much discharge current or simply not enough quality. . My concern is only about the maximum current available from such battery because i will be. limited by the converter max output. Anyway it is beautifull and interesting project.

А вот теперь ответь на один вопрос: "А на xyя?" через 2 года аккумуляторам настанет волосатая, а такие батарейки служат год и более. Овчинка выделки не стоит. У меня одна такая батарейкамв часах больше 2-х лет работала.

Согласен, хорошее исполнение, только вот и Psf Fps прав - накуа? Размер батарейки для бытового использования не популярен. А пальчиковую давно китайцы научились делать, только емкость с гулькин нос.

Can I use several that batteries in series? Most D-battery devices are 6v, 9v, or 12v.
Yes, you can connect batteries in series with a buck converter to produce 6V, 9V, or 12V. Alternatively, you can connect them in parallel with a boost converter to achieve the same result. However, using batteries in series with a buck converter is more efficient. Unfortunately, connecting batteries in series can be challenging if they are positioned too closely together.

I'm curious, how much do the parts cost compared to buying a 1.5V rechargeable D size battery? Not counting the spot welder, of course.
There is no rechargeable 1,5V. You can buy 1,2V acu but you need additional charger

Impossible.
"18650" stands for the size of the lithium cell; 18mm times 65mm. C-battery is only 50mm in lenght so the 18650 would not fit inside nor would the 14500 used in this video.
There are smaller lithium cells, though.
