I am disappointed so many deviations from canon why are they not using the iconic abix assault rifle ? helm didn't die in the quartz zone...he and rogue were the last survivors following the regiment's breakout orders...he was killed in a nort attack on their pickup sub on the coast of the orange sea why did rogue call helm, buddy when they are clone brothers ? why is helm wearing body armor but rogue is traditionally topless ? I always wondered why helm never saved any of his cloned brothers, his gun, helmet and backpack slots were empty, strange considering he was, with rogue, the last of the genetic infantry regiment
Lots of people are hooked on the Dc and marvel stuff but many do not know of and appreciate the great work that the Brits were responsible for. These 2000 AD characters - Rogue, Dredd, Strontium Dog, halo Jones, et al - need to be recognized more by filmmakers. This effort here, though just six minutes , was pretty well done and impressive, capturing the flavor of the character from the comics. Kudos to them for s fine effort and kudos to you for your taste.
same my dude, i ended up finding them in an ol record store hidden in my town, sold old comics in packs of 2 for a buck, got a lot of old gems in great condition was so stoked when i got into rougue trooper then they made the game and i played that none stop such a great designed game too.
Glad it's finally up, this is the third 2000 AD short I've worked on after Judge Minty and Strontium Dog, but this time with a different crew so I was just on VFX for this one. Nice to have something already shot and edited before I got to it...
I really enjoyed that, guys, well done! Cannot understand why there isn't already a major motion picture about Rogue. There's so much material already, they could probably make three movies and ten TV series out of it!
Just an fyi but we are getting a full scale offical Rogue Trooper movie. Directed by Duncan Jones who did the Warcraft movie. Don't know whether I should be excited or scared seeing as from what I know the Warcraft movie did suck, but it is there. Also I suppose all we have so far is a teaser so the project could very well be cancelled.

Only just discovered this by virtue of looking at imdb for the Rogue movie. This was pretty impressive. The Bio chip voices really worked. And that shot at that end was better than any of the planetary visuals in Rebel Moon.
Pretty good! I especially liked the backgrounds. They got some details right that the videogame got wrong, such as the color of the toxic water at The Quartz Zone. In the game, the water looked pretty damn pure, which is inaccurate.

Read a ton of Rogue and the Notes wouldn't dissolve, they'd just choke. It would be different in some of the more toxic places like the scum sea though.

So many great characters were featured in 2000AD and I read from Prog 1 to about prog 450 approximately. Rogue Trooper is one of the best comic characters ever created along with some of my other favourites such as Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Slain, Robo Hunter and The ABC Warriors.
This video kicks ass at bringing the 2000 A.D. universe into reality! VERY well done!!! Just as awesome as your "Judge Minty and "Strontium Dog". I wish I had the $$$$ to fund an entire series of all your shorts!
Thanks, but it was a different team mostly for this one - I was vfx supervisor on Rogue, and shot Minty and S/D but that's the only connection On this it was industry people who specialise in stunts directing and co-ordinating everything

There's likely to be an announcement about the official Rogue Trooper film in Mid January
I really enjoyed everything about this. The music, atmosphere and details with the other attached characters is wicked and that fight bit is awesome, so well done. Nice one. If you do another one, make it darker ; )

The camera shot framing was really great when Rogue was shooting at the enemy. You could see Rogue in the foreground shooting the weapon while at the same time you could also see the shots hitting the enemy in the background. Not seen many movie gun fights framed like that before. Usually the camera is on the person shooting then cuts to the person being shot. Anyway, this was bloody brill. Love 2000ad. Been buying it since it came out in the late 70's. Comic isn't as good as it used to be, but you do still sometimes get the odd good issue.
I doubt it, it was just a one-off - there was a feature announced to be directed by Duncan Jones around the same time this came out, but that's all on hold because of COVID-19.
