Thank you for taking the time to watch our film. So glad you liked it. It really warms my heart to read your words. To this day, that ending shot and the final sentence still make me emotional. An interesting story about the ending is concerning the little dust devil that appears. Many people think that we created it in a computer. It really happened. How it happened at that exact moment at that exact spot and how it played into the whole "wind" theme will always astound me. Sometimes, in movies, things just happen. Thanks, again.

From UK. Great story well told. This story apart, I have great sympathy and respect for all the indigenous North American peoples; they fought a losing battle with wickedness that they did not deserve. From my childood I recognised the injustices, and from then until now - 70 years later - have never respected white Americans; I have met many, some I even liked, but never one I'd want as a neighbour!
😢 Modern day people have nothing to do with what happened - thats history / can not change the past. What hate - waste of time/ energy. Whatever clicks your click..😊😢
@@ellafields9424 Hmmm...does " Whatever clicks your click" mean something? Actually you COULD do something to change things, such as dealing with racism, giving the indigenous people their lands back, stop electing presidents that are senile and/or convicted felons, and stop believing the US is the greatest country in the world - it's certainly the wordt educated nation in the world. No, I don't hate Americans, I just don't like too many of them. They also have a habit of dragging their Allies into wars, then leave them in the lurch! REad your history.

@@anoldtoulon6978 The budget was so tight that you would not really believe it. What only matters is what is on the final screen. We actually shot the movie over a two year period. If you look at then little boy (Aden Yazzie), he is smaller in the beginning shots. When we finally shot the end, he was older - so it played into the story, as he looked bigger and stronger. We even used two different cameras. A lesser one for the beginning and then we bought a really nice cinema camera towards the end. All in all, we had fun. Thank you!
You don't mess with Marshall John. Forget about it. Good movie, script and acting. ❤ I had a Navajo friend, Ronnie Yazzi. What a terrible thing this government and some horrible people did to his ancestors. The Navajo are wonderful peoples.

Very good movie. I don't believe that all 'incomers' that took control of Nations which became the U.S., Canada, Australia etc. were of that terrible mindset of sadism and 'uppermost' over the indigenous population. I'm Australian and we treated the Aborigines terribly but I don't believe that all were of that mind just the ones with power over the indigenous population. Heart-warming story. Thank you for the upload.
Glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for the kind words. I agree, not all were so bad. How could they have been? I guess enough were, and like you said, the ones in power. Thanks for commenting.
This movie has dealt with the long repeated theme of conflict between white and red races with the rare point of view of the red men. The setting of the movie in the Monument Valley within the Navajo Reservation is beautiful as ever recalling the harsh chase of the Navajos by Kit Carson out of their lands all the way to Texas with mayn old, young and womenfolk left to die on the way.
Great story and human been relation regardless of race and many other things I salute the Red skin boy for his bravery and initiative, also salute to US marshal.
This was good, I enjoyed it. Mr Winters and Arden Yazzie were both great. We aren’t really taught manifest destiny and the genocide of the original inhabitants in public schools.
Thanks for commenting. Navajos are all over Arizona. For our story, we had the three traveling. The story was all about getting the boy back to northern Arizona. As you can see, we ended up in Monument Valley, so, you are correct, they are from up north.
Thanks for the kind words. We think it's a great flick also. And, yeah, there are same lame parts. The movie took three years to complete with a minuscule budget. The lameness mostly comes from lack of money. Not having a proper budget makes you settle for things that you wouldn't have if you had a real budget. Not an excuse, it's just what happens. Thank you, very much, for watching and giving us a kind word. It means a lot to us.
The following is Discernment rather than Judgemental, it's just curiosity, a desire to understand: Who makes these movies with amateur: Directors, Tech Staff, and Actors? I'm curious how they get funding for the Production and Distribution costs. They aren't qualifers for Movie Theaters, I can't comprehend how they get funded and make any return on their investments. If they were fim stufents, the acting would be more professional. Confounds me ...
Hi Beth. I guess, in this case, I am the one who made that decision since I wrote it and directed it and co-produced it. Some of the actors are just regular folks, others are real actors. I directed it and acted in it and did a lot of the camera work when I was not acting. I like the film and I'm sorry that you don't. I've been making movies a long time and I realized long ago that with each movie, some people will love it, some will like it, and others will not like or even hate a film. I can tell you that this film was made for not much money at all. Also, when you work at a smaller budget, you accept that you will never be able to have certain things like more time to shoot a scene, or other things. So, I guess the choice is to give up and not make a film or go ahead with it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry you didn't like it. Even with all of its flaws, I'm proud to have made this film.
