SNSD - GEE on 14th february 2012, i will always remember that day when i discovered k-pop randomly used on a political french youtuber video. Changed my life because i live in Korea now since 2017
Worst song to be popular honestly. I have been into kpop since 2nd gen and after gangnam style got popular and people knew I listen to kpop for years already they thought all kpop music is trash like gangnam style.
@@MinnieNichaQueen I think I just got lucky because I got into kpop in 2018. I was like 7 when Gangnam Style came out and it wasn’t as talked about by 2018. Or at least where I live it’s not really talked about anymore.
My first-ever k-pop song was 'Gangnam Style' by PSY, and because I was a 13-year-old from the US and not the most culturally educated(?), I didn't even know it was k-pop nor even heard of that genre! BTS and BLACKPINK were my first exposures to the more, I guess, familiar side of k-pop - usually groups, impressive choreo, more serious-ish lyrics. Then I found even more k-pop songs when I started getting into the Just Dance games ('BANG BANG BANG' by BIGBANG, 'I Am the Best' by 2NE1, 'Fancy' by TWICE, etc.), which I think that's really when I started liking k-pop.
No 2PM, Infinite, Beast, FT Island, CNBlue, Oneus, Onewe, B.I.G, MissA, AOA, Block B, EXO, SS501, Enhypen, Ikon, Astro, B.A.P soooo many iconic songs from all these iconic groups that made me love K-Pop.
In Malaysia, i watch tv channel called 'Astro Hits' where it show all kpop MV back in the day then i saw 'Beast - Shock' MV and that got me into kpop. Then i found Rain, Gna, 4minute.
I came to Kpop because the game Cabal Online had the dance of "Wonder girls - Tell me" implemented. Then i watched a Cabal video where they used the Wonder girls song, I liked it and searched for it. Ever since i am a big kpop fan.
first songs that expose me to kpop: Psy Gangnam Style 2ne1 I Don't care Wonder Girls Nobody Bigbang Fantastic Baby Songs that made me a stan: Seventeen Clap BTS Not Todoy Twice Cheer Up Exo Kokobop
I don't know who is morning coffee but THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! You are the best And with me, my first song of K-pop is I hope of FT Island. Oh god i'm old
Boa - Eat you up. That song hooked me. Then, with RUclips recommendations I discovered SNSD Gee. It was in my middle school years in 2010 - 2011 🤩 So much nostalgia 🤩

Hey, another multi here. For me it was mirotic - TVXQ, also Lucifer - Shinee, A show where shinee was in - 2PM and Girl's Generation, AYA - mamamoo, Dr. Bebe - Pentagon, Kingdom: Legendary war - BTOB, A2K - VCHA, get a guitar - RIZZE, Peak time - Sevenus.
first notice kpop song was actually SNSD The Boys english version then I listened the original version. after that, trace back to the older songs then I realized BoA is a korean idol, instead of japanese, I recognize her from the anime soundtrack. what a journey 😅

@BPONREPEAT-b7i Didn't you say *"and if we talk about collabs don't bring up your oppas 😂 they suck"* on the "top 200 most liked MVs" video from "Current Charts!"?
@BPONREPEAT-b7i I'm relieved to hear that you listen to BTS. Thank you. But I think I've seen you in a few k-pop statistics channels saying mean things about BTS/ARMY. (DataThrone, Kpopocity, DataWorld, Kpop101, etc.)
Like many others Gangnam Style was the first K-Pop song I ever heard, but without really being aware of K-Pop being a thing. First time I really took notice, funnily enough, was watching the 2018 Olympics closing ceremony where CL and EXO performed a few songs
My first songs were the OSTs for Boys Over Flowers, which led the youtube algorithm to send me EXO’s debut and Super Junior. 2012, it’s crazy to think it’s been 12 years since then. I wish the people voting had been able to include notes, it would have been interesting to hear how they came across some of these songs.
Omg this was such a fun video, I was trying to imagine how it was for one person to discover each song as a first hahaha either cute concept, intense electro weird looks, old school, new school. My first was a drama OST AST1 My girl haha I think 🤔

Rain's It's Raining and TVXQ with Trax were among my first songs, for sure, but I remember very well the very first K-pop song I heard because it was in the fan video for Fushigi Yuugi, and it was S.E.S. Dreams Come True way back when we had to buy VHS to watch anime 😁
My daughter started to listen to kpop in 2017, so probably the first kpop song was BTS Dope. Then we did a lot of kpop videos like this, so I learned to know a lot of songs. My daughter doesn't listen to kpop anymore, but I'm 57 and I'm still here! I'll always be a sucker for 2nd gen kpop. 😅❤
My first one was Beautiful Night by Beast. It randomly came up on my Pandora at the time when I was still using it. I think it was around the time it was first released too. Not long after, I heard about Gee on TV and then, of course, hearing Gangnam Style. I still didn’t get all that interested with Kpop until around 2016 with BTS (Dope) and Blackpink (Boombayah) and fully into it until 2020 with (G)I-dle (Oh My God) and Dreamcatcher (Scream).
Late 2009, my friend let me listen to a little snippet of Big Bang on her mp3 player. Later that day, I looked them up and found a blog that featured Big Bang's Haru Haru! I consider Haru Haru the song that got me into K-Pop!!!
Mine was 'Like Money' of Wonder Girls ❤ I found it listening EDM (my first favourite style) and then im immersed into Kpop, i prefer Girl Groups but Boys not bad really.
Mine first kpop song was B1A4- Baby goodnight. At first my thought was "it is soo weird" and then become " I LIKE IT".SSo that's how i started listen to kpop 😊
Every Heart by BoA but the Japanese version cause it was used as part of the Inuyasha soundtrack but it led me down a rabbit hole as I looked BoA up and it just snowballed from there.
My first Kpop song was Gangnam Style by Psy. I didn't know at the time that this song was Kpop, but I felt like I listened to the song to death because I was fascinated by the language. The first Kpop song that I knew was Kpop, or rather that contained the Korean language, was Sour Candy by Lady Gaga together with Blackpink. Consequently, Blackpink is the first group I got to know, but only because I was sitting in front of the TV at home and while flipping through the TV channels I got stuck on a music station that was currently showing How You Like That by Blackpink.
i have 3 first k-pop songs 1) Gangnam Style- the one i heard before i knew what "K-Pop" was (i was already listening to music in other languages, so it just kinda blended in) 2) Something (TVXQ)- first one song that was shown to me by a friend 3) Superhuman (NCT127)- first i heard while ACTIVELY seeking to get into K-pop as a media (also super underatted song)
I can't remember precisely my very song because I stumbled across a top 10 korean boy group compilation while looking for synch choregraphy. It was in 2010 though, and the two songs that stuck out to me at that time and that I started to listen to were Mirotic by DBSK and Love Like This by SS501 :D However THE song that definitely got me into kpop was Lucifer by SHINee~
I think the first recommendation YT had was G-Dragon Heartbreaker. I was about to ignore it but decided "why not". My top 3 was heartbreaker, ring ding dong by SHINee and bad girl by B2ST/Highlight.
2009, It was an Internet clip of SNSD singing Genie, though I was unable to catch the song name at the time, on a rooftop in sailor outfits. Some RUclips and internet sleuthing lead me down the rabbit hole of more K-pop, Big Bang, Super Junior, T-ARA, Brown eyed Girls, 2NE1. It's been one of my favorite genres since.
Like most of kpop fans my first song was also GANGNAM STYLE but like everybody i also didn't knew that it was kpop so my officially first kpop song was "DYNAMITE" by BTS 😄 found them in May 2021(yes i remember) then i listened to "BUTTER" and "PTD" only yes only nothing else but everything changed when i first saw a Blackpink song on my TV it was there debut anniversary (8 August 2021) on that day some of their songs were on air i went to youtube and searched "HOW YOU LIKE THAT" my god it was amazing then i learnt more about BTS(became an army officially) and then BLINK then ONCE and moree. And now i am in love with Kpop 💕.
I've been listening to some songs since the fall of 2011 - for example, BigBabg - but I really fell in love with this genre in August 2013 when I saw the Girls' Generation - The Boys video. This band is still my favorite in K-Pop, although I listen to other bands and artists.
The song that I credit with being my very first (though soon followed by other songs from the boy groups in the same company) is Super Junior's Mr. Simple either in 2011 or 2012. I've since become a fan of groups in other companies as well.

The song that I credit with being my very first (though soon followed by other songs from the boy groups in the same company) is Super Junior's Mr. Simple either in 2011 or 2012. I've since become a fan of groups in other companies as well.
