  • With the help of a vacuum, smoke machine, and of course the Eventuri filter Rob creates a science experiment to simulate what the filters inside the Eventuri intake for the C8 Corvette are doing beneath that Carbon Fiber. Thanks to slow motion capabilities we are able to see the Venturi effect crated by these filters live in action!

    Great job Rob! Awesome way to show how these have a similar effect to an airplane. It's not about the volume of air an intake makes, but the quality of air / efficiency of it ;)

    I think a dyno would do a much better job of showing off any advantages. You could use it on any motor in a dyno room, this way you could see the HP gains instantly right on the computer screen.

    How about a real-world Dragstrip before and after under similar conditions? 🤔

      Agree a 1/4 mile pass or two or three will likely show any difference between stock, others and this intake. I don’t trust the science anymore after what happened with the virus.

      @@RobwithaZ06 👍 great, dyno is not like at the strip where you really see improvements.

    How often need to replace those air-intake filter ?

      Check Eventuri’s website for that information.

      The Eventuri Filters can actually just be cleaned rather than replacing each time like OEM. Safe bet to check and clean them every 5000 miles or so, worse case you can purchase replacement filters but these will last you a LONG time.

    As a fellow engineer this is a good example of the venturi effect which causes a restriction to increase velocity of the air. Increase in air volume/density is the most important thing to produce more HP but a venturi effect like this is going to decrease the amount of air the engine will get because it’s creating a restriction and in turn decrease HP. Cool experiment just not useful in an air intake system

      The Eventuri C8 Z06 Intake increased power by 42WHP and 44WTQ in the mid range so it didn't decrease HP by any means.

      @CoreyJ5439 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@ParagonPerformance I’d imagine that’s largely due to the filter media itself, usually OE filters have 99% efficiency capturing dirt and in turn are more restrictive as a trade off. What efficiency was the eventuri filters?

    • @Eventuri
      @Eventuri 6 месяцев назад +6

      You would be correct if the reduction in diameter was smaller than the OEM MAF tube or throttle body or turbo inlet. However, our designs reduce the diameter down to the required diameter to match the inlet to the turbo/MAF/throttle body which is a fixed size so we are not restricting the flow as such but rather going from a much larger diameter to the required diameter smoothly and therefore invoking the Venturi affect.

      I see what you’re saying and that would make sense if there were no filters present since I can see the housing is shaped like a venturi but the top of the filter impedes or redirects airflow in the center and air speed is always highest in the center of a tube and decreases to 0 at the walls so it would seem like to me breaking up that airflow would cause more restriction. You can kinda see how the smoke from the smoke machine is bouncing off the filter and moving backwards in the video

    so this proves suction creates some laminar flow. So what does the eventuri filter or housing do?
    I wager the same laminar flow occurs with the stock filter.
    Is air velocity changed from stock? More air velocity = more air = more powa
    This is only marketing not science
