I don't agree with Luigi's analysis of the Japanese birthrate problem. If you have a society that works extremely long hours and then has to go out after work to hang out and drink with co workers, you are not going to have the desire to do anything but go home and sleep. Who the hell wants to raise a family in an environment like that? On to top of that cost of living is out of control just like everywhere else. You want to solve declining birthrates across the world? Let people work less and earn more money and/or get the cost of living down. They will then feel like they have the ability and time to take care of children. Sorry I don't want to do okinawan karate or lift weights after a 6 day work week where each day was 12-14 hrs long.
The fact is our ancestors worked more hours but still managed to form big families. It's still culture with several factors in between. There's not much stimulation for real life these days, boring corporate jobs, families torn apart, most are busy with their gadgets, top it up with high cost of living. Even I only want to distract myself from the harsh reality.
@@linming5610 You are forgetting that those ancestors did those things as a group. They actually all pulled together. That is becoming more and more rare in the western world as each year passes. They had time to raise kids because the elders usually did a lot of the heavy lifting on that.
I think you are both right on many points. "Sorry I don't want to do okinawan karate or lift weights after a 6 day work week where each day was 12-14 hrs long." I disagree with this, though. Unless you're working in something labor related, you should have energy to do a short workout after work. In fact, if you don't have energy, it's probably because you aren't keeping fit. Sacrifice 10mins of doom scrolling or other unproductive hobbies and get a short workout in.
as a japanese I agree with you. People want to make japanese birthrate decline as something to do with weird subculture stuff but it's as simple as bad work environment and lack of time and money. People simply don't have time, money nor energy to have kids. They don't even have time or energy to change the society.

"Sorry I don't want to do okinawan karate or lift weights after a 6 day work week where each day was 12-14 hrs long." I disagree with this, though. Why is journalism still a thing?
The funny thing is the govt wants us to mistrust the media and do away with journalism. It used to be a check against the govt. They didn't expect social media to take its place.
How about why isn't journalism still a thing? Journalists are supposed to report unbiased facts.

Mangione in Italian literally means a male that eats a lot.
This is strange, almost glowy
A lot of untalented script writers.
ya sure, it's very suspicious... if you ignore the fact it's an actual Italian surname. You literally have all manner of information at your fingertips but you spew your low IQ diarrhea here and pretend it's profound.
Don't forget officer fry.
@@youngc570 not talentless, it's a requirement to make it almost painfully obvious. It's part of the ritual.
This is an actual very smart person. Independent thinker, full courage, high IQ, deep intellectual dives as far as his reading and education, and with a problem solving mind open to any solution - he looks around, correctly identifies problems or sees what's off, doesn't take anything for granted or passively accept anything as The Way Things Are, then goes about solving the problems he sees in his mind, without any ideological limitations. These are rare birds. I am sorry if he will rot in a cell the rest of his life, but such as this can do effective work and live a very effective life even from a cell, if he can keep his spirit up.
altho having just read his manifesto, i dunno. the twitter reads very smart, the tweets i've read anyway. the manifesto reads very juvenile.
ironic a dude called Mangione got caught in a McDonald, to explain Mangione exist as a word in italian and mean glutton

This is just the scapegoat because the real killer is still out there and the CEOs are afraid and if the glowies dont show any progress then they will panic.
What’s insane is that people are still defending insurance companies and their fraudulent business practices.
media is owned by the same ppl, its not even a theory, just a fact, commonly available
Almost nobody is doing that. People are defending the CEO because he didn’t deserve to be murdered in cold blood, that does not mean they think that insurance companies are perfectly fine; some people just aren’t big on murder.

the problem with immigration is culture
im a immigrant myself, and i believe in adopting the culture of the country im in
Good, you're the ideal immigrant
Yea same here. Like the whole point of moving to a country is cus you wanna be a part of their culture and people.
Its feels disingenuous if your moving somewhere for any reason but because you wanna be a part of the country.

0:40 There are many countries with lower birth rates than Japan that are also traditional and conservative. The real problem is that in rich countries having and raising a child has too much impact on life because it's hard to balance it with work, hobbies or self-development. It's hedonistic lifestyle that is the problem

Hahahah Among Us "Assassin" ... sounding pretty sus if you ask me
Eh, birthrate problems are way more simple than that and globally. Its just too expensive to live and raise a family, and especially in Japan, everyone is working way too much. I'm not a fan of banning things to "morally correct" an entire culture. I think most people want kids but can't due to cost and how much they have to work and sacrifice. Having kids was always a sacrifice but its way worse now with the economy and how much we all have to work.
On this guy though I think he was righteous and justified and this is how we get optics on changing healthcare. I've seen UNIVERSAL praise for this man from people (not from old traditional news media though!). EVERYONE has a crappy healthcare story they can empathize with.
I find it hilarious hes blaming tenga, maids and tekken, although that last one might just be video games in general he blaming.
I think these are symptoms and not reasons for but whatever.
Not even Japan man, South Korea, Singapore, then theres Spain and Italy off all places.
@@talkingtakotaco8611 People dive into pleasure/vices to deal with hardship, doesn't matter what it is, anything can be abused.
The problem is feeling compelled to indulge in those too much (Not completely, I think its important we still enjoy lifes pleasures in a balanced way for fun and not to disconnect from life). If life were less stressful and people didn't have to worry about lodging or basic healthcare I think we'd see a lot less abuse of these things in general.
So yeah, like you summed up its more of a symptom of something else. A failing society, lack of meaning, lack of purpose, straight up good old fashioned hardships of existing. These people that want to ban things like that never understand that it will do nothing because its not treating the harder to talk about and deal with the underlying real problem. People find a way or find a new thing that lets them disconnect from the constant stressors of life.
Its hard to talk about because people never want to think how hard life REALLY IS, how its EASY to empathize with almost any other human action on Earth, positive OR negative. We are so influenced by the people and environment around us, for better or worse.
Japan's brith rate will still be shit even with enough money for kids.
